  • Kyoto has always a bucket list destination for us so we made sure to cram as much into our visit as possible! We started the day by attending a traditional matcha tea ceremony in Gion before exploring the temples in the extreme temperatures. We also attended a FANTASTIC samurai class at the Kenbu theatre, first watching the impressive fighting techniques and then becoming samurais ourselves as we got the chance to dress up and learn some sword fighting techniques. We then finished the day with some well deserved wagyu beef and tried the Japanese alcohol Sake for the first ever time.
The next day, we headed to the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest to decide for ourselves whether it's still worth the visit or an ever-changing tourist trap!

It was so good, we thought it was going to be a little bit of a “gimmick” when we booked it, but it was really good.
