- Corbin Carroll's grand slam off Edwin Diaz in the eighth inning handed Arizona an 8-5 win. The Mets trailed 4-0 early on but a four-run fifth and the go-ahead tally in the sixth gave them an 5-4 lead. Carroll then launched his second homer of the game and third of the series to beat New York.

Diaz throwing pitches like he's got a FanDuel account AGAINST his own team. That grand slam pitch was thrown like a position player in a blowout. It had NOTHING!!!
So tired of seeing Diaz. Far from a reliable closer. Wasted losses after his constant giving away potential wins. Change the rotation Mendoza. You can lose with others too.

Just as we Needed Diaz to be on top of his game, He has come up SHORT. SOB, 2 games in a row lost because of him in a crucial situation! He's right back to 2021. Why can't The Mets ever have that "Closer" to truly rely upon. During the last 25 years, Beneitez, K Rod, Putz, even the leftie from Philly (forgot his name), and now Diaz........... !

i was so annoyed seeing coaches getting Diaz in at end of 8th. Maton has been great and was doing perfectly fine, so let him finish the inning.
happens on a daily basis with every team - guy cruises through the 8th but manager can't wait to bring in the "closer" & he gets hammered - constantly

The Díaz contract was a mistake.
No control over his fastball and throws a low curveball to a left handed hitter that does nothing.
It was a sucky slider....that didn't slide...at ALL....
