I'm not a super super LeBron fan but I'm not ignorant to greatness. Unlike Skip I understand who the man is. Kawhi is a beast. If he can be a better facilitator he'll be more complete. Until LeBron falls completely off the map (or gets knocked off in the postseason), it starts and ends with him.

Who else can take a lottery team to the finals in his 1st year. When lebron left Cleveland for 4 years they picked in the lottery. When he left Miami they are barely a playoff team. EpicwinFTW27 well Westbrook is misleading since he has ridiculous usage rate and horrendous shooting splits. Lbj has the same usage rate as kawhi in the playoffs. Although kawhi has been stupidly efficient, LeBron has too apart from the terrible free throw %. Still not enough to say he's better than LeBron now
I agree with your assessment completely now that you've fleshed it out. Kawhi is really only better on defense and jump shots, and although he's got a decent lead in those aspects, it's not enough to overcome everything else LeBron does. My problem was just with using a box score statline to say one is better than another. It's just not feasible to do nothing but look at box scores when comparing players of such high caliber. Both are capable of those stats and more, but they're not necessarily going to put them up due to coaching and the play of their teammates. You have to look at their actual abilities and how well they use them.
EpicwinFTW27 compared them in another comment. I think LeBron is way better passer obviously, rebounder, attacks the rim better, better floor general/leader and better rim protector. Kawhi has a better shot at all ranges (Although 3pt is surprisingly close), Better perimeter D and probably more clutch.
