For those of u who can't understand he's a Mongolian child whos lost his mother when he was little...and whenever he misses her he sings this song. It made me cry so much...amazing voice !
How can you not cry after listening a song performed by a young boy that lost both mother and father? He sings from the heart, in his innocent voice. Hard not to be moved to tears, specially when the lyrics are about a mother gone to Heaven, and he can only be with her in his dreams. Magnificent Uudam!!!
Udam, you are a very smart boy. You said yr mom is not beside you anymore same with yr father. But you can sing very well n sing to fulfill yr mom's wish.
Don’t really know how many time I have watched his performance and each time couldn’t help tearing up, deeply touched by Uudam’s singing. Love him and hope he is living a happy life wherever he is.
He didn't cry he expressed himself through the song. His feelings were so strong, they reached the audience and even people all over the web who didn't experience it first-hand.
I love the fact that he really leads us inside and feel the emotion of the song. His voice can touch people's hearts and, during the moment, live in harmony with the song. I think that's the most valuable asset of this boy- this actually is his power, not the sad story. And yes, his dignity and inner strength command respect from an adult like me.
The first time I watched this video I was really touched of the story of this mongolian boy. I called my wife and two of us watched. Both of us cried even we don;t really understand the language but through the emotions of this boy we really feel the message of his song and he sings with his heart. What a wonderful voice, I love it watching. From Philippines.
I am Mongolian girl who lives in Mongolia ( not inner Mongolia) . We separated 2 kind of another place but still we can feel each others amazingly. Inner Mongolian people so amazing because they still can keep and protect their culture , just great hard-working people. Other people think about us we are rude, poor, low developed country . But we have prodigious n huge history and culture and we are the strongest nationality so far however we have few population. Just you can see from his performance. We are patient, kind people so far. Please think positive about Mongolia. Here is lyrics of this song in English. I hope you enjoy it :) The real version of this song name is Alsad suugaa eej -Javkhlan The first daylight appears in the hazy morning At a devotional moment I recall my mother hoping her son will return staring into the distance till her desire fatigues My mother who lives in the distance is my dearest conviction In the bournless sky thin clouds are ethereal At the moment I pray I think of my mother boiling tea on the stove staring into the distance till her eyes fatigue My mother who lives in the distance is my dearest conviction The range of mountains ah...so imposing In my heart ah.... always with a lump in my throat I hold myself together in this world bear the weight of sustenance to seek my dream in the distance *My mother who lives in the distance is my dearest conviction*
I like what u said because u understand Mongolian in China. I am a Mongolian boy who born, grew up and live in China. I can't even speak my mother language but I still think I am a real Mongolian man. My mom and dad came from Horqin so in Southern Mongolia still have 5 million Mongolian there. As u said Mongolian separate 2 part but I hope Mongolian should help each other and understand each other. Seriously we are family and I also hope one day we can be together.

Without understanding the lyrics I was captivated by this handsome, dignified, composed young boys elegance and singing ability which touched my heart and soul. Uudam ‘s lyrics did not require translation as he expressed the essence of the song in his movement, gestures, and beautiful melodious voice. Many thanks to the thoughtful Mongolian girl.who translated the lyrics and explained the beauty of her Culture. Warm greetings.from.Sweden and Canada. It would be very satisfying to learn more about Uudam, I pray to the eternal that he has a satisfying and safe life and thank him for a ” Sublime Moment in Time”.
I’m an American living in Alabama. I’ve never heard anything unkind about the great Mongolian People. I’ve always thought of them as family oriented, warm people, devoted to family and the environment. They always seemed very brave and strong to live in some harsh conditions there. But I’ve never been told or taught anything unkind against the Mongolian Nation.
Tears just flowed from my eyes. They kept flowing. When the judges asked him where his parents are, he was so calm. Then when he sang, though his voice was pure and simple, i felt that sort of emotion and passion in it. This is the most touching audition. ever.
I think that i have listened to this about 10 times and each time i come to tears...this kid is so handsome and has a great voice...when he is asked to say something to his parents and all he says is "Mummy I miss you"...I breakdown.... i love this!!!
What a strong young boy! As this video was 12 years ago, he was 12 years old then. He must be 24 now. I hope he is doing well and fulfilling his dream. Uudam (Wudamu), wherever you are, may God protects and guides you. Praying for you always. Sending love and hugs to you ❤
This is something beautiful to listen to. I'm a grown man but this still strikes a emotional chord in me. Reminds me that I fortunate to have my mother around and that I should love her before she goes
That's true sadness he holds in his heart. Human beings have the beautiful talent of emotion that allows us to connect our hearts in ways no other creature can. With this talent we all harbor in our hearts, we have to nurture our brethren and fight for peace and love! Bless those who suffer atrocities and agony.
He is a real Mongolian boy. I felt smell of fresh air and wide steppes n i missed my mom when i was listenning to his singing. After the performance i called my mummy. I am proud of his behavour and soft soul.
Oh Uudam . . . You sing from the heart, and you made me tear up. I'm from Denmark and I don't understand your language, but I didn't have to, since every part you sang came from the heart. I wish you a good future, and a successfull life! Blessings on your way from Denmark.
I came across this song in 2014 when I had unexpectedly lost my father. When I heard first with subtitles I couldn’t stop listening to help mourn the death of my father. It made me think every time how important my mother is and that would be a loss I could never handle and makes me very thankful to have her in my life.
He's brilliant! If there was a World's Got Talent he'd win. His voice is rich, smooth, effortless, clear...and he sings with passion and knows how to win over the crowd. Very polished for a 12-year old.
So touching. I cry every time i watch this. He looks like my brother and sings a song that I used to listen to as a young child growing up in Mongolia without my mom or dad. And he's a Mongol. How much closer to me can he get :(((((.. Waeeeeeeeeee... Hes doing Mongolia good and representing our country in a good manner. So touching.....again.
Boy, you are truly a remarkable and skillful singer. Other than that, you are strong. Keep that dignity with you at all times. Your parents will always hear you from heaven. Honestly, if i was you and if i was to be in your shoe, I would've teared up from the beginning of the song all the way through. But you pulled yourself together and stayed strong. May you be bless, young man. You got my support! :)
i cried from the depth of my heart even though i did not understand any single word but i felt the feeling so deep god bless his mother soul and give this little boy the strength to be a good man

The first daylight appears in the hazy morning
At a devotional moment I recall my mother
hoping her son will return
staring into the distance till her desire fatigues
My mother who lives in the distance
is my dearest conviction
In the bournless sky thin clouds are ethereal
At the moment I pray I think of my mother
boiling tea on the stove
staring into the distance till her eyes fatigue
My mother who lives in the distance
is my dearest conviction
The range of mountains ah...so imposing
In my heart ah.... always with a lump in my throat
I hold myself together in this world
bear the weight of sustenance to seek my dream in the distance
*My mother who lives in the distance
is my dearest conviction*
