" I know you are all fighting because you are scared and confused. I'm confused too. All day... I don't know what the heck is going on. But somehow... this feels like it's all my fault." It gets me every time.
One of my favorite things about this movie is the deep message within characters doing weird stuff before they become someone else. That’s exactly what the movie is telling us: Every time you take a chance on life, to do things differently, you open the door to becoming a different version of you. It’s a crazy way of presenting it but I think it’s genius.
Wow. Great insight. There are a lot of things in this movie worth a think. One of my takeawaysis that the multiverse is the internet, shattering our real life connections with people.
I love that so many people experience such a potent mixture of crying and laughing that they don't fully understand what is going on. The scene when Rock Evelyn turns around with the googly eyes and starts moving towards Rock Joy had me simultaneously crying and laughing in a way that seemed impossible, and I'll never forget this film because of that.
Several times during this show my friends and I turned to each other and said "what the f*ck are we watching?". We loved it but that first watch is really confusing.
"Nothing matters. If nothing matters then all the pain and guilt that you have for making nothing of your life just goes away." That line hit me really hard.
... you need to realize that the actual message of the movie was to *not* have that mindset. That's why at the end she comes around and reaches out to her mother. She said that quote you wrote when she was in her depressed state. Meaning this is not something you should take away from the movie. The actual message of that movie is that ending scene when she reaches out to her mother and that ending scene where they're united as a family
this movie is in fact everything, everywhere, all at once. never has a movie lived up to its title before imo. who knew that a movie featuring talking rocks, hot dog fingers, and a talking raccoon could make us all so emotional?? also, I am so proud of Ke Huy Quan. he absolutely killed all 3 of his roles in this movie. there is a clip of him on a podcast that brought tears to my eyes of him getting very emotional about where he'd been. he had quit acting due to the lack of roles for asian actors and had resigned himself to working behind the scenes. but when Crazy Rich Asians came out, it gave him hope again and he went to the theaters to see it multiple times. when asked by the podcast hosts where he'd been all these years, he simply said with tears in his eyes "I've been right here." that got me. I'm so proud of him for winning not only the Golden Globe, but also the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for this movie. so well deserved! ❤
I saw Ke Huy Quan on one of those Hollywood Roundtable videos on here with Brendan Fraser, Adam Sandler, Austin Butler, and Jeremy Pope where he talked about some of that and he's just such an amazing person.
I haven’t laughed this hard outside of a Jackass movie and I haven’t had my heartstrings pulled this much outside of a Pixar movie. Seriously, how is it possible that the same movie where we see Michelle Yeoh fighting 2 guys with BUTTPLUGS up there asses with some actually amazing choreography also makes me weep at the sight of her and her daughter hugging and crying together in the end of the movie!!! So freaking happy that this movie won 7 Oscars, especially best picture!
I love how the visual representation of the destructive "bagel" is echoed--in negative--with Waymond's constructive healing as represented by the googly eyes. There are so many levels in this movie that I was legit dazed for a while after I first watched it...
I remember walking out of the theater after I saw this movie and feeling like something inside of me had been shaken and woken up. This movie reminded me how easy it is to fall into a pit of despair and stay there and how important it is to fight with love and kindness. It was my favorite movie of 2022. So happy you two finally saw it. "We can do whatever we want. Nothing matters."
I remember watching the film on first day release. I was alone in the auditorium and I'm glad that I was because I literally cried and laughed at the same time. This film broke me. The experience and message that comes with the film, hit me so close to home. The Whale also broke me as much. Both films really got me going to the restroom afterward and had to wash my face.
James Hong is just the most awesome person ever. He is in almost every movie as a minor role and he just kills it everytime. Greatest voice. Heartfelt shout out to him.
I am an actor and I booked a part in a short-lived sit com with Daniel Stern and Judd Hirsch called Regular Joe. When I checked in on set I realized that I was standing next to James Hong. As we were being walked to our dressing rooms he turned to me and said "We've worked together before, haven't we?" I got that a lot because I have a very familiar face. I told him no, but I have followed him for years and was honored to meet him. He stopped for a second, then said "Then you have interviewed me'. He didn't wait for my answer, just turned and walked on.
@@erikbihari3625 And games, too. He has great, very distinct voice. He's sort of like Christopher Walken in that it is immediately recognizable. You hear five seconds and your brain immediately snaps "Hey! That's James Hong!"
I'm one of the privileged few who saw this movie when it was first released, and it's been absolutely wild to watch its real time journey from "scrappy indie underdog" to "unstoppable awards juggernaut," which has even now claimed the record of the most awards EVER.
Holy Cow! It really DOES have the most awards of any movie EVER: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_accolades_received_by_Everything_Everywhere_All_at_Once
I really, REALLY wanted EEAAO to win all the Oscars, and I was so happy it did, but this movie had one last surprise in store right when Michelle Yeoh was walking up to the stage and they announced that she. Has. NO. FORMAL. MARTIAL. ARTS. TRAINING. She learned it all on the fly, on the movie set, with no stunt person (or FROM the stunt people) when she started acting in Hong Kong. INCREDIBLE.
This was an amazing movie. I don't think there is any other actor could have pulled it off except Michelle Yeoh. She is such a good actor that she made you fell all the emotions that you needed to feel as well as doing all that physical action and comedy. Also the way Ke Huy Quan, Stephanie Hsu and Jamie Lee Curtis played different versions of their characters top notch.
I went into this movie as blind as I could. It was more than a pleasant surprise; it was f-ing amazing! The fight scenes, acting, visual effects, creativity, message and themes, everything was perfect. This truly is one of the best movies to come out of 2022. You guys are Gs for reacting to this.
Samantha got very quiet about half way through when it started hitting hard. Such an incredible experience watching for the first time, and it's exactly this kind of movie that makes these reaction channels so much fun to watch. Thanks guys.
This movie is simply incredible. I showed up for Ke Huy Quan's return to acting and the always incredible Michelle Yeoh, but never thought I would cry over googly eyes on rocks 😭😭😭 The last time Ke was in a movie before this was Encino Man, with Brendan Fraser (Brendan's breakout role), which makes it extra sweet that they both got awards this year.
Also, watch Stephanie Hsu's audition to see how much she brought to her character on her own and how much Daniels allowed and used collaboration. Joy's "sucked into... a... bagel..." song came straight from her audition. And Michelle Yeoh telling them that the rock scene should not have verbal dialogue and Daniels used it...? What an amazing experience for all to be seen and heard and Daniels to be so collaborative.
Lmao I heard a couple of older ladies talking about the Oscars and one of them said “did u see Anyone Anywhere All Over The Place yet?” and I can’t stop giggling over it. EEAAO is in my top 3 movies of all time & always will be. I love it that much. Every scene. Watched it all the way thru at least 20 times. But yeah. Older ladies know what’s up😂🤘
She was nominated for best supporting actress. I agree, she should’ve won over Jamie Lee but I’d say being nominated creates “a little buzz”. Still happy Jamie Lee got one.
12:35. She didn't just become a movie star. She became that universe's Michelle Yeoh. She's clearly at the premiere of 'Crazy Rich Asians', which Michelle starred in. Originally, Evelyn was named Michelle, but Yeoh wanted the character to be separate from her, to give Evelyn her own voice.
My man, the Oscars don't mean s@@@ and never really did. They gave Ordinary People best picture and Redford best director over Marty for Raging Bull just for one example.
It's such a game changer. You feel everything. Holywood was always going to look at this film and think wtaf. Is this the new "out there"? Cast, design, editing, everything, everywhere all at once. Love it.
MANY THEATERS ARE RUNNING THIS MOVIE AGAIN AFTER IT WON SEVEN OSCARS. Definitely a great movie on the big screen. The visuals and sound are incredible!
I love your reaction to the ketchup covered sex toys: "THIS WON AN OSCAR?!?!?" Yep, that's what's so fantastic about this movie! The most crazy moments are the least of it's charm and beauty.
There are two lines in this movie that have me sobbing uncontrollably every time I watch a reaction to it. "So even though you've broken my heart yet again, I just want you to know that in another life, I would really have loved just doing laundry and taxes with you." "Just let me go! I'm tired, I don't wanna hurt anymore and for some reason whenever I'm with you it just hurts the both of us"
The perfect movie. Elemental yin yang, the weak characters turn out to be the strongest, the richest are the poorest, Evelyn living her worst life but we learn it’s actually Waymond’s best life, a bagel that destroys everything while it’s inverse the googely eyes that figuratively (and literally) gives life to everything, a multiverse movie that focuses not on the intellect but the emotion. Incredible work of art.
One of the best movies I've seen in the last ten years. Movies like this only get made once every few years, especially on a 25 million dollar budget and are the best examples of what movies should strive to be. Easily among my Top 5 of favourite movies. The fact that Michelle Yeoh brings the best performance of her career and *still* gets overshadowed by Ke Huy Quan is a testament to what we were missing out all those years. It was Jamie Lee Curtis who convinced him to take the role and boy, did it work out. "In another life, I would have really liked, just doing laundry and taxes with you." is, somehow, one of the most romantic lines I've ever heard.
This is such a great affecting experience, non-linear, non-rational, but explained by itself so well within its own terms. Simple love and kindness message; too simple for some critic minds, and yet, sometimes, some wheres life can be so satisfyingly simple.
Everything Everywhere All At Once won Everything Everywhere All At Once 😂 Great film and unlike recent Oscar winners, this deserved all the awards it won. Especially Michell Yeoh, who I have followed for DECADES. She is a fantastic actress and really showed it in this film.
So many awards given to the actors of this incredible project and rightfully so. Incredible cast and story and one of my favorites. So glad you both are reacting to this masterpiece.
7:19 the small details that were put into the film are immaculate, even the subtitles are spit in two during the scene. Phenomenal film. It deserved all the awards it got.
There are three stages you go through while watching this movie, first, the What the hell is going on stage, second, the Why the hell am I laughing so hard stage, and third, the Why the hell am i crying so hard stage.
absolutely ♥ this movie. It's brilliantly bonkers! 'Just be a rock' is this year's 'Be a goldfish' ''Just Doing Laundry And Taxes With You' is right up there with Crouching Tiger's 'rather be a ghost drifting by your side' quote
Samantha is right; when Evelyn tells Becky to grow her hair it is acceptance. The moment touched me cause I've had my friends Chinese/HongKong parents do something similar to me.
Yeah for asian children such comments to us or our friends is a sign of love and care.....joy even tells her that if she says something like that means she love u
"Nothing matters, so everything matters" is such a weird, conflicting, true statement. The Dan Radcliffe/Paul Dano movie is Swiss Army Man and it's GLORIOUS! EDIT: I STILL haven't looked into them, but apparently the two guys involved in the Butt Plug Fight are long-time RUclips stunt men? I might have to go look into them now, though...
36:46. "There's just so many ridiculous things to react to. The way that it just hits you. It is hard to put into words." And THAT is what the movie is all about. It's a metaphor for how chaotic and random life is and how inexplicable everything is - but it's still worth living and all that matters is how you make others feel.
Saw it in theater with my daughter and there were multiple times we were laughing and crying at same time. We cried at boulders for God sake. The I would of liked to run a laundromat and do taxes with you line brings the tears every viewing. Just a great great original movie.
It’s A Wonderful Life is quite possibly the first ‘multiverse’ movie recognized in pop culture. I got IAWL vibes in EEAAO too ❤️. This movie showcases its influences proudly and creatively
I'm SO glad I got to see this in a pre-release IMAX screening. Seeing it on that giant screen with a loud sound system and a big crowd, and their reactions during the film, was one of the greatest movie-going experiences I can remember in years. I actually watched the multiverse shots of Michelle frame-by-frame and there are some crazy images they snuck in for just 1 or 2 frames, including one that's a shot of Michelle in front of a green screen while the VFX crew can all be seen on a Zoom call on the right, Michelle's face in the bark of a tree and a bunch of grapes, etc. Most of them you don't even really see. There's also a quick 2 frame shot of Stephanie holding an Academy award in the shot where she is Jobu and holding out her arm while different things change, which turned out to be a very prescient choice by the VFX team! I was so happy that it won all those Oscars, especially Ke Huy Quan because he was SO great in his first acting gig in over 20 years. (and to have the Oscar for best picture given to him by Harrison Ford - Indy & Short Round back together) - and, of course, the Queen Michelle Yeoh! All her decades of acting funneled down into this part and she was amazing. And one of my favorite things I learned when I watched the DVD with the director's commentary it that right after the dildo fight when Jobu/Joy smiles and giggles, that wasn't in the script. That was just Stephanie's reaction to that take and it was so good they left it in. Great reaction to such a great film!
It was a very weird movie, unexpected. That is why I liked it so much but I had no inkling that it would sweep the Oscars like that. In a world where most movies are sequels, remakes, and adaptations, it is awesome that these folks got rewarded for making something different.
I was always destined to watch this because of Michelle Yeoh, but it turned out to be SO much better. Stephanie Hsu, Ke Huy Quan, Jamie Lee Curtis, James Hong.. all absolutely brilliant. Such a complex, simple heartfelt story.
Something this movie does really well is to convey a feeling even if it's hard to explain it that everybody has. Getting bogged down by trying to nail it down would probably ruin the feeling it gives you. I really like the idea of doing what I can for a better tomorrow even if I don't live up to my own aspirations everyday I still really believe it's the only way to live.
I thought this looked good but i was shocked by how good it actually was and i thought the daughter in the film was amazing! She really blew me away. So glad she was nominated for the Oscar.
One of the most pleasant surprises that I had in 2022, and one of the best movies ever.... This movie has everything: heart, emotions, fights, multiverses, dildos..... What else can you ask from a movie?......
Ke Huy Quan was most famous for his role as Short Round (In Indiana Jones) Data (in Goonies) and in Encino Man (with Brendan Frasier!) and he basically hasn't had any work in large films for nearly 30 years. For him to come back with *this* performance and then win best supporting actor was just so beautiful.
The bagel shape appears constantly throughout the film. From the opening shot with the round mirror to the googly eyes that increase in number - for example, the shot near the start where it says EVERYTHING has no google eyes on all the round objects above Michelle's head and the same shot near the end that says ALL AT ONCE has google eyes on all the objects.
The self-realization that not everything is tied up in a bow as they apologize for the reactions not being tied up in a bow. You 2 hit the nail on the head with how it makes one "feel". Reactions are not limited to nor confined by "verbal" reactions. Nonverbal TOTALLY COUNTS. You had both. For me the movie had me think of what "love" means to each person is different and that should be okay. Googly eyes on everything matters to one person and the joy it brings to that person is what matters. Joys "joy" was her girlfriend. We all should support what brings "joy/love" to the people we care about, not smash it nonexistence just because we may not "get it".
I think what makes this film difficult to talk about is that instead of telling a story with action and set pieces, it is the first movie I know of that tells its story mainly with emotions.
YES!! This is one of my favorite movies of the year! Nominated for 11 Oscars, winning 7: Best Picture Best Director Best Film Editing Best Original Screenplay Best Actress Michelle Yeoh Best Supporting Actor, Ke Huy Quan Best Supporting Actress, Jamie Lee Curtis.
Like, I know there were a bunch of people trying to figure out how this won so many Oscars with only watching the trailer. Like I said the trailer is great, but it still doesn’t do it justice once you’ve seen the movie. Sam is crying like I was. It’s a certain point in the movie where you start crying and you don’t stop until the credits start rolling.
Me too 😅 every time, and I am SO not a crier! Another commenter explained why so many people watch the reactions to this movie: It's a way of experiencing the movie for the first time again..
I think it’s so interesting how split both your opinions were. I’ve recommended this as the best movie of 2022 next to “The Menu”. Half of the people find it too bizarre to enjoy. The other half agree it’s amazing.
I was waiting to see your guy reactions were like mine and what ya know……..went from laughing to being grossed out to disbelief to crying like there is no tomorrow! And that’s why it was nominated for 11 Oscars winning 7! One of the best movies I have ever seen hands down. Just FYI, there is a Q and A done by I think Vogue. The video is on RUclips. Michelle Yeoh talks about all her iconic roles leading up to this one. And how she was asked to be in this movie. It’s really good too. It’s also a tear jerker, especially if your a fan of hers.
When this movie came out, my local cinema that shows original language screenings (i am german where everything is dubbed and i hate it) didnt have this on their shedule.i had already preordered the bluray special edition and the cinema decided to show it due to popular demand and i immediatly got a ticket. when i left the theater i did what i always do, which is talk with one of the guys who works there, its a tradition we discuss films and all. i said to him immediatly i can see 10 nominations easily and it would probably win 3 or 4. i didnt not expect the sweep it did at the oscars but i was hoping for it for sure! It was immediatly after watching it my number 2 movie of all time (nothing will beat Ferris Bueller!) Its SO wild and you as the audience also feel every emotion all at once, like the scene with the rocks. i was confused about what the heck was going on, laughing my butt off AND crying because it was so sweet. only in that scene where Rock-Evelyn moves the first time. The story itself is pretty simple but shown in the most complex and comfusing way. I am in AWE of the Daniels for writing and directing this. It also surpassed LORD OF THE RINGS for the Most Awarded Movie of all time
I only saw this movie once at the cinema and my reaction when coming out was simply "what the actual fuck did I just watch?" I felt like I'd had a stroke and I mean that in the good way cos it was really good. 😊 Best get on DVD.
I think to many reactors get hung up on have to be speaking during it but expressions and emotions are more of a reaction than speaking plus you then speak at the end, so that suits me
The fact this film has almost everyone that watches it between laughing and crying within 20 seconds spans throughout the 2nd half demonstrates how brilliant this film is. Instant classic.
I'm super happy to have seen this with you two! Such a crazy, fun, touching movie that brings a lovely message to the audience. I hope you both get better soon, and I wish you two a swift recovery and I thank you two for viewing this movie with others! ❤
When rock evelyn gains googly eyes I'm like oh that's right. When you put googly eyes on something it can become a character. A silly character that makes you laugh. A laundry bag, a washing machine, a baseball bat, a lantern, a rock. They're can all be alive now, with feelings.
The movie is a total experience and the way it makes you feel is so amazing! I cried through the last act of the movie, it hits all of the feels. Great reaction!
Joy was amazing. The reveal of her character, how she became the main Bad Reminiscent of Adam in " Dollhouse". I'm glad they takled the emptiness of despair, how nothing seems to fill the void. Have met people going through depression and that's how it is. Nothing seems to get through. Like they are in the middle of a black hole it's gravity sucking the reason to live out of everything Immigration, family tensions, what could have been, nihilism, meekness, hope. It's all there. A true great experience. Like RRR. I'm glad a movie like this did win.
I've been waiting a whole year for you to do this one. Edit: Great commentary. I understand your desire to watch this multiple times. I've watched three times and I've seen at least ten RUclips reactions to it and I still can't get enough of this film.
This movie hits so hard for so many because it’s got some really smart and intelligent writing that’s routed in deep philosophical ideas. It’s just hidden under an abstract absurd representation. It’s the daoist yin and yang, order and chaos and the balance between the two. Within order, you must still introduce a bit of chaos and vice versa with a bit of order within chaos, and the way to live is to walk the path between the two sides. That’s why the white side has a black dot and the black side a white dot. Evelyn and Jobu/Joy at the start of the film represents each side without their opposing dot. Evelyn must introduce a bit of chaos to reach her full potential and jobu must find order(Evelyn) through the tumultuous chaos. By the end of the film, both gain balance and peace is restored. Waymond’s character is interesting. I haven’t quite worked out what he’s representing. My best guess is he’s representing the cure to nihilism. How you find “meaning” in your life which is needed to buttress yourself against the hardships and suffering that’s inherent in life. He has found that the pursuit of love and good brings joy and meaning to your life no matter where you are.
Thank you so much for watching this! When I first saw this movie I had so many mixed emotions - which seems to be a common theme LOL. I was confused, then overjoyed with the story and finally overcome with emotion at the end. Such a BEAUTIFUL film! Love you guys so much and your reactions are always so entertaining and honest! ❤
Funnily enough I literally just finished watching this movie, and then your reaction popped up in my feed! I thought it was amazing, I have to give a shout out to the amazing visuals though, the flashes between different universes and in particular the Joy fight scenes were so spectacular and imaginative. What a ride this movie is! I think the rock scene sums it up: hilarious, absurd and creative, but somehow still gets you emotional!
I watched this movie a few months back and just like you, I didn't realize I was LOLing and ugly-crying the whole backend of the movie. It's hard to describe but you have to experience it I guess. "Swiss Army Man" is the other movie by the Daniels. I hope you also get to react to that one.
Incredible film. A film you can watch many times and get something from it every time. It was filmed on a budget of less than 20 million dollars with the team of special effects of five people with almost no experience. The belief in the project drove them to make one of the most unique films I’ve seen. Just be a Rock.
I love that take: everything was not important but it was so important. I think it really summarizes the existential message of the movie, our lives are all meaningless and, in the great scheme, completely irrelevant, but it is because of that that the little moments and the people we love are even more valuable.
Watched this last year and must confess it didn’t wow me the way it has so many. I should LOVE this movie but I’m beginning to think that as I’ve gotten older my brain prefers slightly ‘quieter’ visual stimulus! I felt the same about RRR but I’ll have to give them both a second watch though……Would love to see your reaction to RRR as well.
I'm with you my friend, i respect the artistic choices and cinematography but it just doesn't do it for me. I'm glad that experimental movies like this are still being made however, i just didn't particularly enjoy this one which was disappointing as i tend to enjoy the stranger side of cinema.
I didn't see the movie until I saw that you both were reacting to it. I fell asleep in the middle and had a wild fever dream as it played, lol! Then I went back into the evening of the same day and resumed it. I loved your reaction to it, especially watching Sam become emotionally moved by it. It's hard not for anyone not to be moved by it if you're emotionally invested in the story, drawing your own life experience parallels. This movie is such a total package, delivering a long time coming cathartic crying. Thank you for your reaction & review!
Wonderful reaction. I avoided seeing clips and went to see it in a theater before the Oscars. What a wild ride and such a good message delivered by an incredible cast. They all deserved all the awards. The scenes with the rocks had everyone in the theater laughing out loud.
The rewatchability of this film is bananas. And the more people in the room, the more hysterical it becomes. Makes you cry-laugh at the most ridiculous stuff. Film of the decade so far.
I will continue to shout from the rooftops about how amazing this movie is to anyone who will listen. I don't care if sounds like hyperbole, but this movie literally cured my depression! I've always been a bit of a nihlist who believed that nothing we did matters. I was Jobu without the cool powers. I believed that, eventually, the human race will end, the sun will explode, the universe will collapse in on itself, etc... so why bother? What is the point of life and living, if nothing we do matters. This movie taught me a different way to view that same nihilism: if nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do. We can profoundly effect the world we live in just by being kind. Whether you believe in "religion" or "god" or "a higher power" or just that we are a giant coincidence created by billions of things going EXACTLY right to create a living being that can perceive the universe which created it. None of that matters. What matters is what we do with the time that we're here. That's all. Nothing else. It doesn't matter if our efforts are appreciated, or even noticed, because we control how we perceive the universe in which we live! This movie is a modern miracle that spoke to my soul, and no matter how many times I watch it, I'm exhausted from crying at the end. This movie is..... EVERYTHING. And to top everything off, they win seven of the eleven Oscars they were nominated for! I don't think I've ever actually cheered aloud at an award announcement, but I sure as heck did for this movie! Louder and louder each time they won and literally stood up and danced for the Best Picture! Thank you for sharing YOUR reaction to this movie with the world.
" I know you are all fighting because you are scared and confused. I'm confused too. All day... I don't know what the heck is going on. But somehow... this feels like it's all my fault." It gets me every time.
everyone gangster until Waymond busts this speech out.
That line broke the flood gates for me and I cried throughout the whole rest of the movie.
Guarantee tears, Waymond is so relatable

@@clearsmashdrop5829 It's meant to be confusing, as the character Evelyn and Joy experienced confusion.
Harrison Ford gave Ke Huy Quan an award. I didn't know I needed that moment.
Encino Man has two academy award winning actors and neither is Sean Astin
"Nothing matters. If nothing matters then all the pain and guilt that you have for making nothing of your life just goes away." That line hit me really hard.

He was in so many cartoons!
@@erikbihari3625
And games, too.
He has great, very distinct voice. He's sort of like Christopher Walken in that it is immediately recognizable. You hear five seconds and your brain immediately snaps "Hey! That's James Hong!"
@@Scott_Forsell. He's more like the Stan Lee of regular movies!
Daniel & Samantha wouldn’t have realized they’ve already seen him in two movies!
I'm one of the privileged few who saw this movie when it was first released, and it's been absolutely wild to watch its real time journey from "scrappy indie underdog" to "unstoppable awards juggernaut," which has even now claimed the record of the most awards EVER.
weird flex but ok
I love watching people watch it oddly. This movie seems to be able to touch everyone equally. It’s quite astonishing.
@@deo44x not really considering Asian treatment in film in the US until literally the past 10 years or so. Makes it a bit historic for Hollywood

INCREDIBLE.
No movie has ever made me laugh so much and cry so much. Just be a rock.

Really? Did you just start watching movies last year for the first time?
I showed up for Ke Huy Quan's return to acting and the always incredible Michelle Yeoh, but never thought I would cry over googly eyes on rocks 😭😭😭
The last time Ke was in a movie before this was Encino Man, with Brendan Fraser (Brendan's breakout role), which makes it extra sweet that they both got awards this year.
I can't remember the last time I was this impressed with a movie. Not just one of the best films of the year, this is one of the best films.
But yeah. Older ladies know what’s up😂🤘
Out of all the reaction for this movie, this was by far the most interesting thing I have seen. And very understanding.
I think that the young lady that played the daughter should have gotten a little buzz for her performance too.
she should have won an Oscar or at least a Golden Globe.
She had the Oscar worthy performance Not Jamie Lee Curtis.
@@Teezythadon yeah Jamie Lee Curtis played her role REALLY well, but Stephanie Hsu absolutely owned her role.
She was nominated for best supporting actress. I agree, she should’ve won over Jamie Lee but I’d say being nominated creates “a little buzz”. Still happy Jamie Lee got one.
The bad news is that nothing matters hey but the good news is that nothing matters. Your reaction and this movie really hit me in the feels. 🙏🏽✌🏽♥️
This movie won at the oscars for a reason 🔥 one of the best multiverse movies out there
You're wrong. It is THE BEST multiverse movie. 🤣
Love it.
@ 20:50 "oh yes unplug them" I exploded like a supernova of laughter. Thanks for the good and fun content
I cried a lot when I first watched it. Easily one of my favorite experiences in the cinemas. Really glad you guys checked it out.
Their first movie is Swiss Army Man, I highly recommend it. Just like this one, is weird and beautiful and highly creative.
It's amazing that they shot this movie in just 38 days!😳
There are two lines in this movie that have me sobbing uncontrollably every time I watch a reaction to it.
"So even though you've broken my heart yet again, I just want you to know that in another life, I would really have loved just doing laundry and taxes with you."
"Just let me go!
Ke Huy Quan absolutely earned that Oscar for his performance in this.
This is such a great affecting experience, non-linear, non-rational, but explained by itself so well within its own terms. Simple love and kindness message; too simple for some critic minds, and yet, sometimes, some wheres life can be so satisfyingly simple.
this movie broke me and lifted me. as soon as i watched it I said, if Michelle doesn't win best picture noone deserves it.
You guys broke it down so nicely at the end. It's a very hard movie to explain but so emotional!
It's amazing how different your life can be if you just look at it from a different perspective. Great reaction guys.
7:19 the small details that were put into the film are immaculate, even the subtitles are spit in two during the scene. Phenomenal film. It deserved all the awards it got.
Love this movie. Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan and Stephanie Hsu are fantastic in this movie.
There are three stages you go through while watching this movie, first, the What the hell is going on stage, second, the Why the hell am I laughing so hard stage, and third, the Why the hell am i crying so hard stage.
absolutely ♥ this movie. It's brilliantly bonkers! 'Just be a rock' is this year's 'Be a goldfish'
''Just Doing Laundry And Taxes With You' is right up there with Crouching Tiger's 'rather be a ghost drifting by your side' quote
Thank you for allowing us to read the subtitles!
Fun fact: After the Oscars, this movie has officially become the MOST AWARDED FILM IN ALL OF HISTORY. Yeah, you read that right.
I saw this movie opening night in theaters and I cried my eyes out. So good!
So disappointed I didn't watch this in theaters. BUT still glad ive seen it. Worth every award. Love your channel guys!
I thought this looked good but i was shocked by how good it actually was and i thought the daughter in the film was amazing! She really blew me away. So glad she was nominated for the Oscar.
This film is my soul, I am so happy for this family of creators, actors, small crew, and team that created a beautiful masterpiece.
One of the most pleasant surprises that I had in 2022, and one of the best movies ever.... This movie has everything: heart, emotions, fights, multiverses, dildos..... What else can you ask from a movie?......
It’s a difficult movie to explain to anyone, all I tell people is that it made me cry laughing, and laugh crying. Great reaction
Yeah ....its less of a story and more of an experience
YES!!
This is one of my favorite movies of the year!
Nominated for 11 Oscars, winning 7:
Best Picture
Best Director
Best Film Editing
Best Original Screenplay
Best Actress Michelle Yeoh
Best Supporting Actor, Ke Huy Quan
Best Supporting Actress, Jamie Lee Curtis.
Completely deserved! 👏😽
Absolutely deserved. I remember watching it thinking "there's no way this isn't winning Oscars"
Movie deserves all of its awards
Hearing TBR say "UNPLUG THEM" during THAT fight scene made me remember why I love this channel so much. So glad you guys did this one!
I flicking love this movie! Your reaction & comments was really nice. 😊
I still cry watching people react to it. :)
Been waiting nearly a year for this! I'm so happy you both loved it.
It was immediatly after watching it my number 2 movie of all time (nothing will beat Ferris Bueller!)
Its SO wild and you as the audience also feel every emotion all at once, like the scene with the rocks. i was confused about what the heck was going on, laughing my butt off AND crying because it was so sweet. only in that scene where Rock-Evelyn moves the first time.
I'm glad they takled the emptiness of despair, how nothing seems
to fill the void. Have met people going through depression and that's how it is. Nothing seems to get through. Like they are in the middle of a black hole it's gravity sucking
the reason to live out of everything Immigration, family tensions, what could have been, nihilism, meekness, hope. It's all there. A true great experience. Like RRR. I'm glad a movie like this
did win.
My classmates on Facebook said that this movie made them euphoric and excited! 😊
I've been waiting a whole year for you to do this one.
Edit:
Great commentary.
The buttplug fighters are the stunt coordinators and the masochist guy is one of the directors.
This movie is crazy in the best of ways!
Really thoughtful and perceptive reaction and commentary!
I love Jamie Lee Curtis but Stephanie Hsu deserved the Oscar...
watched this on a whim one night alone and damn...perplexed is all I can say....
