Lane AWD they run through the desert at 120+ and can still crawl good, but the solid axle buggies typically get through crawling sections better, were as the independent buggies run the open desert better, also 1 tons would be a lot cheaper than building an independent suspension that’s strong enough to handle rock crawling
I been wheeling for about 20 years now. Been to alot of pretty narly trails. I have about forgot how enjoyable the easier trails are. It's relaxing and puts a whole new perspective on it that I've lost over the years. Thanks 🖒I needed this.

Nah that's why you have friends there, hook it up and get pulled out, or rig it the best you can if you can and limp it out.. off roading ppl are always willing to lend a hand however they can, or in my experience they have.
@@cornbreadfoutch6565 Ive heard and seen some inventive repairs on the trail. welding with leads coming off the alternator, pulling a spark plug using the engine to air up a tire. pulling the rear driveline and limping it out in front wheel drive

Air down your tires........a LOT. 4LOW, go slow. an old-timer told me a long time ago if you've never rolled a tire off the bead you are running too much air :-) 4low=crawling=slow=less breakage

My dad had on old 80 with 1 tons front and rear and 40” swampers, thing was badass, now he has a YJ fully built cage, 1 tons, 42s” bfg crawlers, got the old dodge Cummins sitting up on some 35s it’s relatively capable for what it is. But anyways those landcruisers are extremely rare here in the US as a matter of fact I believe my dads is the only one I’ve ever seen in person lol

Gigantic beast for sure. If it could fit, it was going through. My brother had a mint 1980's full size Jimmy with a 6" lift and offroad tires, dual exhaust etc. and it was a manual shift! They don't build them like those anymore.
@@jakes5506 Where at? I lucked out and picked up an already lifted 93 xj with 130k mi for $2600 and a bottle of jack. Also, its an Arizona jeep, so no rust! You just gotta keep your eyes peeled. Facebook marketplace has a surprising number of jeeps.

WELD THE FRONT AND REAR DIFF. SINCE U TRAILER IT ANYWASE and use 4Low for that kinda trail.
I don't think that would help as gm axles from this time have internals made of hardened steel which can't exactly be welded together.
