Tears are streaming down my face for him. I knew Paris personally for many yrs. He lived 2 doors up from me decades ago. I was a mentor to his younger son who passed away some yrs back. Paris is THE NICEST guy you will ever meet. He NEVER bragged about what he did in Vietnam but his son told me all the stories. Every once in a while I would ask him questions very respectfully about Vietnam. Paris always generously answered whatever I asked him. I am so glad to see this day FINALLY come. I can think of no one more deserving of that medal. Congratulations Paris!
A lot of people don't know this about a recipient of the Medal of Honor.
All military personnel even the commander-in-chief must salute the recipient upon greeting one another.
That is the respect that is given to the honoree!
As a Vietnam Era veteran I just want to thank your heroism under battle. You have made us all proud veterans. So glad you've lived to have our nation's highest military honner bestowed on you. God bless you and God bless America sir.
I am so proud to see this. He is the great example of black men in the military. So many great good example of men like him. They have not been identified for their heroism ,and bravery. I have a cousin who served like COL Davis. He became an officer and served two tours in Vietnam. He retired as a Col in 2005 after spending two tours of duty in Iraq. Good bless these men and many like them. The waited for six decades before this man his due. I know about them I was in the U.S. ARMY. The U.S. ARMY saved my life. I owe the U.S.ARMY! Thank you Col Davis.

#excellent
Took a Black SECDEF to make it happen …🤔. Well-deserved, Colonel Paris “Patience of a Saint” Davis.
That is Awesome. But why did it take this Man So Long to get his Medals????
Because he is BLACK - and the #Democratic Party is built on #Slavery, #Racism, #WhiteSupremacy , the #KKK, #JimCrowLaws, #AntiCivilRights , #CivilRightsHatred and #Violence against #BlackAmericans -- ALL those #Violent #CivilRights Protests in the 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s were performed by #Racist Black-hating #Democrats ..
He is black.
Because of his colour
This is exactly what I aspire to be, huge congratulations and thank you for everything you’ve done 🫡
