Tips for the icon one that I just found out! Open the photo and click the edit tool on the upper right! Use the tool on the upper left corner that looks like a magic wand. Use it to select the part of the image that you want to use! The red part is the selected part! Select what you want. You can invert the selection too by going to the edit button and clicking "invert selection". Now command C, go over to the tab that she showed and paste it into place! Now, regardless of the transparent background or not, you can still have an icon with transparent background! I think this only works with solid colored backgrounds tho! Hope it helps!

At first I couldn't figure out the desktop folders! Then I realized it only lets me change it ONCE. If I fail to get the right photo or it doesn't paste correctly, I have to make a new folder and try again. It works! So cute. Thanks

this worked so well most of the videos I found didn't work well and were very complicated or weren't even the same MacBook but this worked really well now my Mac is super aesthetic
i think i found some things similar to these on windows. 1. *sticky note;* in windows there are actually sticky notes. Just type 'sticky notes' on the windows search bar thing 2. *hot corners;* I'm not sure about that and you have to download stuff for this. So here I attach a site that i found if ur interested in hot corners: www.maketecheasier.com/get-hot-corners-windows-10/ 3. *analog clock screensaver;* As it says in the website, you can download for windows 4. *changing folder icons*; make a folder on your desktop (right-clcik > new > folder). When you're done, right-click on the folder and then click on properties. And lastly, click on the customize option and click change icon. You can change your icon into different shapes and things but i don't think you can you can use images for the folder icon. 5. *accent colors;* open settings. click on 'personalization' then click on 'colors' and choose the color you want! you can also custom any color you want by clicking on the 'custom color' button that has a plus sign n it 6. *customizing google chrome;* just as shown in the vid ;) 7. *disappearing dock;* on your taskbar, right-click on the blank area of the taskbar. Then click on taskbar settings and click the 'automatically hide the taskbar in desktop mode' to on. You can also do this if u have tablet mode on. 8. *desktop collage;* just as shown in the vid (: when you're done, open settings and click on 'personalization' then click 'backgrounds' and change your background to your collage that you made! my MacBook is now like this after seeing this video 1.i have only 2 folders one for violin notes and other for pics like anime and bts so for violin I found a png of a pusher playing the violin it was adorable thanks for showing how to do that 2.i changed the colour of the stickies to purple I didn't even know u could change the colour thanks! 3.i didn't get teh flip clock though I didn't want it 4.i put an cute anime wallpaper its adorable I learnt 2 stuff from these videos and they were so helpful I knew the other ones before thanks you Julia!!

I didn’t have a problem with that! Make sure you did these following steps correctly. 1. Go to Julia’s website and click folder icons. 2. Click the one you want. 3. Drag the icon onto your home screen with your dock and everything by zooming out your tab. 4. Click the PNG 5. Do command A, command C. 6. Click out of the PNG 7. Right click your folder, and then click get info 8. Click the small folder icon on the top left corner 9. Then click command V (or whatever you use to paste something) There you go! You should have it now! :)

I'm so happy my sister showed me your stuff! I have been crazy customizing my iphone and desktop and next will be my laptop! I'm also doing a huge office remodel. I think that loving your stuff is important to feel happy/content in your environment.
that happened with me too. I followed her and then I let it sit for a while and then I put the image I wanted the folder icon to be into that folder. (ex. I wanted my folder to look like the star so I put the star png in that folder - after doing her steps) hope this helps! (honestly, I don't know how I did it I just played with it, hope that helps!)
I ended up fixing it by simply moving the folders from my desktop to Documents and then back. Or you can try creating a new folder and that should fix the problem. At least it did for me!
im 7 months late buttt.. I figured this solution works for me: 1. double tap the image u want it to be. 2. do 'command c' (copy) 3. tap on the folder ONCE to select it 4. go to 'file' 5. press 'get info' 6 press the folder icon on the top 7. do 'command v' (paste) hope that helps :D
@@hearts4847 Doing a "Hackintosh", or "installing macOS on non-Apple" requires advanced technical skills. You need to use something like OpenCore or Clover, which will allow the PC to boot Apple software, and kexts (the drivers). It's safe as long as you know what you're doing. But if you don't want to do it, then save up for a affordable Mac.

hey guys :) so i tried two different methods (even julia's) for the folder icons and neither worked for me. if my directions are too confusing, here's a link to the video that i found this method at: ruclips.net/video/LsmVfqlF-94/видео.html here's the steps i did for it to work (i hope this helps a little lol): 1. open icon in preview 2. click edit, then click select all 3. you should see the dotted line around the icon, then go back to edit and click copy 4. then click on "get info" on the folder 5. click on the small folder and you should see the highlight around it 6. click paste, then it should pop up!
it wouldnt work for me either, and then i realized i had to create a whole brand new folder and then it worked. it didnt work for me with folders I already had
For the wallpaper thing, I have a question. Every time I go to Pinterest and hit save image and then hit "Command V" when pasting it in Canva, it shows "Pin It" in the picture and not just the image for every picture I've tried. How did yours not do that?
I don't know if you've managed to change it already but I tried emptying the folder etc first and it wouldn't work and it turns out it doesn't work with an already existing folder, you have to make a brand new one on your desktop. Hope this helped if you still needed it x
if you want to hide and show your dock without going to system preferences you can just press alt command d and your dock will hide/show itself edit:I'm excited for Friday's video (even though this is like 9 months late lol)
I just got my Mac Book Pro and started watching your video for the first time the other day and I started following you right away. You are too cute and I love your personality. I have learned a lot in such a short amount of time. I am not tech savvy at all when it comes to things like this. I just know the basics pretty much. So these videos help out a lot! I love all the customizations you have and may or may not have copied some of what you did!
I had the same struggle, when it zooms in click on the tool icon(the icon that looks like the system preferences app) then you'll be able to see "get info" and other things😊

if you don't have the google chrome app or browser or whatever it's called then it won't work lol, you'll need to get that first. I would suggest you download that anyways because it's a much better browser in my opinion😊

when I tired to change the folder icons it wouldn't let me, is anyone else having that issue ?

I didn’t have a problem with that! Make sure you did these following steps correctly.
1. Go to Julia’s website and click folder icons.
2. Click the one you want.
3. Drag the icon onto your home screen with your dock and everything by zooming out your tab.
4. Click the PNG
5. Do command A, command C.
6. Click out of the PNG
7. Right click your folder, and then click get info
8. Click the small folder icon on the top left corner
9. Then click command V (or whatever you use to paste something)
There you go! You should have it now! :)

that happened with me too. I followed her and then I let it sit for a while and then I put the image I wanted the folder icon to be into that folder. (ex. I wanted my folder to look like the star so I put the star png in that folder - after doing her steps) hope this helps! (honestly, I don't know how I did it I just played with it, hope that helps!)

i just cant seem to change my folder icons... no matter how i try it :( has anyone a tip for me? theres just that "png" image showing up..
I ended up fixing it by simply moving the folders from my desktop to Documents and then back. Or you can try creating a new folder and that should fix the problem. At least it did for me!

Download the image instead of dragging and dropping it into desktop
im 7 months late buttt.. I figured this solution works for me:
1. double tap the image u want it to be.
2. do 'command c' (copy)
3. tap on the folder ONCE to select it
4. go to 'file'
5. press 'get info'
6 press the folder icon on the top
7. do 'command v' (paste)

Or just, do a "Hackintosh", which is basically installing macOS on non-Apple hardware.

@@hearts4847 Doing a "Hackintosh", or "installing macOS on non-Apple" requires advanced technical skills. You need to use something like OpenCore or Clover, which will allow the PC to boot Apple software, and kexts (the drivers).
It's safe as long as you know what you're doing. But if you don't want to do it, then save up for a affordable Mac.

hey guys :) so i tried two different methods (even julia's) for the folder icons and neither worked for me.

here's the steps i did for it to work (i hope this helps a little lol):
1. open icon in preview
2. click edit, then click select all
3. you should see the dotted line around the icon, then go back to edit and click copy
4. then click on "get info" on the folder
5. click on the small folder and you should see the highlight around it
6. click paste, then it should pop up!
it wouldnt work for me either, and then i realized i had to create a whole brand new folder and then it worked. it didnt work for me with folders I already had

You have to download the google chrome app. Use that instead of safari

For the wallpaper thing, I have a question. Every time I go to Pinterest and hit save image and then hit "Command V" when pasting it in Canva, it shows "Pin It" in the picture and not just the image for every picture I've tried. How did yours not do that?
did you right click and “copy the image”, instead of saving? make sure it’s the image and not the link too!
Open the image into a new tab, then copy the image. Mine did the same thing and this worked for me.

Eve McNeil try removing the stuff from the folder first. Sometimes it only lets you change the icon if the folder is empty

I don't know if you've managed to change it already but I tried emptying the folder etc first and it wouldn't work and it turns out it doesn't work with an already existing folder, you have to make a brand new one on your desktop. Hope this helped if you still needed it x

if you want to hide and show your dock without going to system preferences you can just press alt command d and your dock will hide/show itself

I can't make the digital screensaver :( it said "there was an error in Desktop & Screen Saver Preferences as I clicked Fliqlo icon
same but every time I click the clock the whole screensaver goes away

I just got my Mac Book Pro and started watching your video for the first time the other day and I started following you right away. You are too cute and I love your personality. I have learned a lot in such a short amount of time. I am not tech savvy at all when it comes to things like this. I just know the basics pretty much. So these videos help out a lot! I love all the customizations you have and may or may not have copied some of what you did!

I had the same struggle, when it zooms in click on the tool icon(the icon that looks like the system preferences app) then you'll be able to see "get info" and other things😊

i think i found some things similar to these on windows.
1. sticky note; in windows there are actually sticky notes. Just type 'sticky notes' on the windows search bar thing
2. hot corners; I'm not sure about that and you have to download stuff for this. So here I attach a site that i found if ur interested in hot corners: www.maketecheasier.com/get-hot-corners-windows-10/
3. analog clock screensaver; As it says in the website, you can download for windows
4. *changing folder icons*; make a folder on your desktop (right-clcik > new > folder). When you're done, right-click on the folder and then click on properties. And lastly, click on the customize option and click change icon. You can change your icon into different shapes and things but i don't think you can you can use images for the folder icon.
5. accent colors; open settings. click on 'personalization' then click on 'colors' and choose the color you want! you can also custom any color you want by clicking on the 'custom color' button that has a plus sign on it
6. customizing google chrome; just as shown in the vid ;)
7. disappearing dock; on your taskbar, right-click on the blank area of the taskbar. Then click on taskbar settings and click the 'automatically hide the taskbar in desktop mode' to on. You can also do this if u have tablet mode on.
8. desktop collage; just as shown in the vid (: when you're done, open settings and click on 'personalization' then click 'backgrounds' and change your background to your collage that you made!

if you don't have the google chrome app or browser or whatever it's called then it won't work lol, you'll need to get that first. I would suggest you download that anyways because it's a much better browser in my opinion😊
