Thanks for the instructions! I think one should keep in mind that the drive to be decrypted has to be unlocked (by using the password) before decryption can be initiated.
Thank you MAN! I literally wiped the entire drive - formatted it - and even installed Ubuntu linux but after reinstalling windows it still said bit locker encrypted it was turned off but still encrypted not sure what that was about but running these commands cleared it. THANK YOU!!!!
@@th3flyingb3agl3 it ended up working for me, so after you run the prompts you basically just have to sit and wait for it to unencrypt. If you’re run prompt again you’ll be able to see the progress

The video host does not mention that the decrypting process will take long time and run in the background. If you start this process from the windows interface then you would have a progress bar. Keep the windows power shell window open and periodically enter: “manage-bde -status” to get the status of the description. The percentage encrypted will begin to go down. That’s where I am right now at 39%. We will see what happens when it is fully decrypted. Hopefully the logon for it also disappears.

First you need to now the bit locker from the Microsoft account many youtubers posted videos about that after unlocking the bitlocker then it will be disabled through this method......😊😊

This dumb youtuber disabled the bitlocker when the drive is unlocked, and there is no way you can recover or remove the encryption for your drive unless you do have the recovery key. Try to find the recovery key which was provided at the time of encrypted drive creation. God bless.

I had issues with win 11 ( no security updates cannot acces security center etc ) after trying all kinds of fixes for a week it only gets worse...finally I saved my files on external harddrive and set up windows new from new usb image ( came from windows site )...now win 11 pro worked perfect but the previous saved files suddenly had a lock and would not open anymore...did a few windows resets ( a computershop told me reset and it will work again ) also from same stick but no change here...i can access the drive ( ext. hard disc ) but cannot open the files ( all show a lock ) ...any idea here???
I encrypted files and folder thru windows file encryption method(without bit locker) later, before to upgrade window from 10 to 11 I have copied all encrypted data to an external hard drive. Now I am unable to decrypt files and folders.

This dumb youtuber disabled the bitlocker when the drive is unlocked, and there is no way you can recover or remove the encryption for your drive unless you do have the recovery key. Try to find the recovery key which was provided at the time of encrypted drive creation. God bless.
