It’s about sharing a well-informed view, which requires studying the technology, platform, and other relevant factors. Buying mg windsor, done test ride. Works fine for me and my family. I really appreciate your honesty and point of view. Please bring the second part of the windsor ev review..

All - My three month confusion of buying an EV has finally come to an end. I would try to make it informative including financial calculations so that anyone who is in my position can be benefitted. First - I have been driving a Grand i10 asta automatic for 10 years, which was the most feature rich car at that time. The requirement 1. Ours is a family of 5, and i am 5'11'' and the only person who drives the car. 2. Usage - 40 kms every week day ( 220 km for 22 day / month), with only one long distance trip for 800 kms in one year to family temple ( to and fro - 400 kms each ) 3. Sunroof - definitely No ( I hate because of heat, Safety issues ), Rear AC vent - Must, other features - as much as possible Our first consideration was between Punch and Nexon 40 Kwh version. There were no rear ac vent in punch ev so removed the entire product out of the list. Curvv was launched. So had confusion between Nexon and curvv. Then came Windsor ev. It was easy to eliminate Curvv as i felt there was no VFM when Windsor offered most of these features at 16 lakhs max. Though Windsor claims 331 Km, i assume 250 kms for this post, anything higher will make all of me happy only. ADAS was not my requirement, also i was completely OK to charge for 13 hours slow charging once in a week to use 220 kms. Then came nexon ev 45 with C75 of 350 to 370, which i felt can be achieved for 45 KWH pack. In my opinion, Both Nexon Ev 45 and Windsor exclusive are very good machines in its own way. decision now boiled down to Feature rich model at lower price or car with slightly higher range and price. Nunbers game now I am considering Nexon Empowered 45 which was closest to my requirements, viewers may replace with model/variant which is putting them into dilemma in decision making. Still Considered Empowered 45 though it has sunroof as other lower variants left me dry for features OTR chennai Windsor exclusive 38 1541000 OTR chennai Nexon Empowered 45 1702000 Purchase cost difference 161000 Daily commute 40 Monthly commute ( 22 work days ) 880 Exclusive Range per charge cycle 250 Number of Units per charge cycle 38 Electricity unit price 10 charge cycle required per month 3.52 Number of units per month 133.76 Monthly charging cost 1337.6 (880/250*10*38) Number of month i can charge for additional purchase cost = 161000/1337 = 120 months = 10 years. Nexon Ev 45 and Windsor exclusive have LFP prismatic cells hence most of existing battery issues of Nexon would be addressed. Lower models of Nexon ev 45 did not offer the features of windsor Considering the resale prospects, ease of maintenance - white color was scoring above black color Feature rich car, low purchase price, 10 year break even for additional cost, Forced selling of sunroof tilted choice towards WINDSOR Exclusive variant white color, and made it a clear winner. Suggestion Please fix up the requirements, else it will be highly tough decision as all EVs are good in its own game. How it fits into requirement is more important. Customers who would be using for 40 Km / day and want to buy second car looking for feature rich VFM car - Windsor is a option Customers with Daily trip of 75 kms - Nexon EV ( low price ) Customers with Frequent long distance travel and 100 Km daily trip - Curvv EV MG has allocated 350 cars for tamilnadu, and chennai gets 130 so hopefully will get one.
Windsor has 38 kW battery and Nexon has 45 difference is 7 kW means around 16% so Nexon will give around 50 kms extra if Windsor gives 250kms Nexon will not exceed 300 . Yes difference is there but not huge
Bhai windsor ka weight and size bhi to dekhiye. Wind noise means more resistance while driving and hence more battery consumption. Lowest range for Nexon 45 is 350 and highest range of windsor is 280. Difference of 70km means more assured journey specially when daily run is between 60 km 20% to max 200 km 20% with 60% days its between 60 to 200. Occasionaly daily run can be 280 kms. And on those 280km days definitely its urgent work with 7-8 hours of driving in 18 hours. With no time for charging at fast charging startions. Definitely very short of time on that 280km day. Windsor will handicap me on that day. Though i can use my petrol car for second half of the trip. Family ko windsor pasand hai 😂(@@amitmiglani2601
Good honest video. I infact went with a cheque for the full amount (so i get the vehicle faster) as i thought there can't be a better deal after looking at the specs and the car at the showroom. However just before booking i got the test drive (which started just the previous day)... and i changed my mind. Only 2 reasons: 1) I could feel lot of rolling kind of movement on bad roads. It was very uncomfortable. 2) even at speed of 70... there was a lot of tyre/road noise. If I didn't have these 2 issues I won't mind even paying 20 lakhs for this car. Positives: 1) Amazing space (i used a skoda superb so my expectations were high) 2) ventilated seats worked like magic... my wife has kushaq... but those ventilated seats make lot of noise. 3) many useful electronic features which you don't even get in cars twice this expensive. Point where I don't agree: Range is less - i think it is fine. 200 also means a lot for most of the users. That's what average Indians do in a week. It can be best 2nd car (for city) in the home. Most economical. BTW looking at the initial success I am sure they will come with a bigger battery pack soon.
I took a test drive twice just to reconfirm the tyre noise issue in the cabin.. and yes it is pretty much there.. so do you think it is a good enough reason to not buy this car.. do we get used to the sound in the long run.. can we ignore this shortcoming and look at other pros..
Without a bigger battery and being such a huge car it does not qualify for family car or highway car... Better they could have brought a small car with this battery pack..... It might be a good choice for corporate executives travel within city or to bring expats from Airport to the office within city... They would love it....

I have booked the top variant. Indeed This car has the best seating comfort specially if you have a driver. And Yes I agree that suspension is not that good. Excellent for city if you have to commute daily 2 to 3 hours in traffic.

Problem with the Nexon is that it makes a lot of other cars feel uncomfortable. I think the problem is with the big alloys on Windsor, the base model will feel more comfortable.
Windsor wheelbase is almost similar to hector plus and in luxury it is more then creta I took a test drive for me the driving seat is more comfortable I will go with Windsor then Tata
Your last video proved what I initially believed. This is a purely city car, all features are offered keeping city commuting in mind. With long wheelbase, and average GC, also the front approach angle not like an SUV, this car will have serious troubles in rough roads and in terrains, one should not venture, because spare wheel is also not there. This is a perfect secondary car for city if you have a primary vehicle for weekend long trips for the tourist destinations.
Sir ek video nexon ka bhi please range test(unedited) and jo problems aarahi hai RUclips pe jo logo be discuss kar rahe hai about part quality !!! Please ek video banaye.😊
Hi Nick, I have seen the car multiple times in showroom now, test driven it (but only for a very short ride). Even though I am impressed with the car and booked it based on my experience with it, however even I am a bit skeptical about the range. Nick do you think it can be a primary car for someone whose majority driving will be in Delhi NCR region and then once in a while trip to hills, Rajasthan and other places in range of 500-600km? And one another point to add, this will be my 1st ev. For the review you posted, I really appreciate the fact that you reviewed the vehicle focusing on range, as with current infrastructure this should be the primary focus while finalizing an EV. Really appreciate your hard work.
Hi, I have been following your series as I also am going to buy an EV in the same segment. My feedback as below. 1. You have been doing good work. I also saw the comments in the last video. Pls don't change your video release plans based on random comments. You are on a public platform now and Indian audience is very hard to please. But they do appreciate honesty and consistency. Pls release part 2 as per your plan without fear. In the long run your honesty to your work will pay. Take feedback, improve yourself of course. But Don't get swayed so easily by a few comments. 2. Reg suspension of the car, some reviews mentioned to check tyre pressure. Some reviews mentioned stiff suspension. Some reviews mentioned all ok. So I think either this is inconsistency on MG's part that some cars have stiff suspension and some are ok. Or this is related to tyre pressure. Personal preference of course has a role to play. 3. In my personal opinion this car is best for people who want a premium looking spacious feature rich CITY car at an affordable value for money price. And definitely not for long route highway users. Cheers and all the best!

Price is decent, no adas, who don't need it can go for it, not for me. Touchscreen sometimes is laggy , overall decent for city use. It all comes down to features, range, price. And safety.
Aaj ki video mein bhi same galti, long video, less information on car, no time stamps, no intricate details, more focus on convincing viewers with sweet talk, less photos for various features of car Giving my opinion, that's it
Hi Nick, Your feedback is really genuine which i feel after driving this car. I feel they would have done better in following areas 1.Suspension is Stiff 2. Audio & Infotainment is OK 3. Under thigh support is OK(would have better) 4. Voice can hearable inside cabin(Would have better insulation) 5. Rear Wiper(would have given) 6. Stephney(would have given) 7. Range would have 400 KM. However, I booked this car, Soon i am going to get it. I love this Car. No one offering in this budget with such premium features. This price range can be affordable for middle class families too.
I had decided to buy punch ev in 15 lacs but then out of nowhere Curvv ev launched, I was head over heels after I took the test ride, I decided to shift from punch to curvv and I booked that right away, but then magic happend and Mg Windsor arrives. Immediately I canceled curvv and booked Windsor. Afterall in 15 lacs I was getting punch and now in 16.5 lac on road I am getting a car so big in size and comfort. I took the test ride then, drove approx 50 kms and I found absolutely no problem. I love technology and thus I loved the screen controls. So minimalistic they have kept this car. Glare on the screen is a big problem but then see the price tag and forget everything else.
That just shows how china has reached so far ahead in terms of evs I was just blown away by Windsor It’s so far ahead in terms of interior quality from others .. MG will be releasing more such cars now that jsw has stake in it .. Next in line is yep plus second quarter of 2025 .. Another magnificent car Creta ev and Maruti evx is also coming .. Mahindra will be also releasing there born ev cars .. Just 3 months back Got quote for nexon ev creative Base model .. 15.20 lakhs on road Now that same car cost 13 on road with launch of Windsor .. Imagine what will be situation if there are more ev competitors.. Sir if u can hold for another 6 months to 1 year u will get better deal with better ev
The bias in your reviews is insane. You might not be a paid reviewer yet but your bias is very obvious. You'll start taking money as when your channel grows enough that people will pay you.
Firstly thank you for the good wishes.. secondly I don’t see any problem in earning honest and hardworking money.. I’ll not justify my conscience to anyone..
Exactly my conclusion as well. Best car to be driven in under 30L bracket. Space, comfort, no contest, nothing comes close. But real awkward to drive with a few glitches on screen. While glitches can happen on other vehicles as well, having it as a single point of failure makes it really annoying and unsafe. they should have added atleast the ability to adjust orvms and headlight beams with dedicated buttons. Must for highway driving While the ac is adequate for monsoons, it will definitely have a hard time cooling the enormous cabin during summer afternoons. It will have to work extra extra hard if you have the glass roof version and will eat into range. They should have given an option of 50-60kwh battery, because without range, what's even the use of a big boot space in the city?
Windsor 1. Limited service centers 2.Arrogant staff. E. AC not works properlt. 4.180-190 Range. 5. Touch screen - Poor performance. 6.Sofa type old seats
Most Indians are not avid long journey travellers. Windsor, I believe, targets that majority audience. Therefore, having a grudge against the lower range is needless from that perspective. The main selling point, the 135° recline, also I believe is a gimmick. Won't be used in city travel much, and when having luggage behind, won't be able to recline 😂 The BaaS model is also a gimmick, as it is a Financing masquerading as a Service. But still, atleast MG introduced BaaS to Indian customers. So, good on them for that. Having nit-picked, I must say that Windsor is still a disruptive offering in the e-4W market. It showcased how much Tata and Mahindra are overcharging for their offerings. I just hope MG also did their due diligence in introducing fully their packages with the Windsor eg: What performance quality is guaranteed in their unlimited warranty for the fist owner? Can the 'subscription rates' increase over the years, or would 3.5 remain 3.5 even in the 8th year?, etc. etc.
1. 38KW -220 Range 2. No physical buttons 3. Computer touch screen -not works properly 4. No spare wheel 5. Limited servicing centers 6. Over priced 7. Front view -0 8. Difficult to drive 9. No speed 10. Ac not working properly 11. High maintenance 12. 200range

First - I have been driving a Grand i10 asta automatic for 10 years, which was the most feature rich car at that time.
The requirement
1. Ours is a family of 5, and i am 5'11'' and the only person who drives the car.
2. Usage - 40 kms every week day ( 220 km for 22 day / month), with only one long distance trip for 800 kms in one year to family temple ( to and fro - 400 kms each )
3. Sunroof - definitely No ( I hate because of heat, Safety issues ), Rear AC vent - Must, other features - as much as possible
Our first consideration was between Punch and Nexon 40 Kwh version.
Nunbers game now
I am considering Nexon Empowered 45 which was closest to my requirements, viewers may replace with model/variant which is putting them into dilemma in decision making. Still Considered Empowered 45 though it has sunroof as other lower variants left me dry for features
OTR chennai Windsor exclusive 38 1541000
OTR chennai Nexon Empowered 45 1702000
Purchase cost difference 161000
Daily commute 40
Monthly commute ( 22 work days ) 880
Exclusive
Range per charge cycle 250
Number of Units per charge cycle 38
Electricity unit price 10
charge cycle required per month 3.52
Number of units per month 133.76
Monthly charging cost 1337.6
(880/250*10*38)
Number of month i can charge for additional purchase cost = 161000/1337 = 120 months = 10 years.
Nexon Ev 45 and Windsor exclusive have LFP prismatic cells hence most of existing battery issues of Nexon would be addressed. Lower models of Nexon ev 45 did not offer the features of windsor
Considering the resale prospects, ease of maintenance - white color was scoring above black color
Feature rich car, low purchase price, 10 year break even for additional cost, Forced selling of sunroof tilted choice towards WINDSOR Exclusive variant white color, and made it a clear winner.
Suggestion
Please fix up the requirements, else it will be highly tough decision as all EVs are good in its own game. How it fits into requirement is more important.
Customers who would be using for 40 Km / day and want to buy second car looking for feature rich VFM car - Windsor is a option
Customers with Daily trip of 75 kms - Nexon EV ( low price )
Customers with Frequent long distance travel and 100 Km daily trip - Curvv EV
MG has allocated 350 cars for tamilnadu, and chennai gets 130 so hopefully will get one.
Great insights

Only 2 reasons:
1) I could feel lot of rolling kind of movement on bad roads. It was very uncomfortable.
2) even at speed of 70... there was a lot of tyre/road noise.
If I didn't have these 2 issues I won't mind even paying 20 lakhs for this car.
Positives:
1) Amazing space (i used a skoda superb so my expectations were high)
2) ventilated seats worked like magic... my wife has kushaq... but those ventilated seats make lot of noise.
3) many useful electronic features which you don't even get in cars twice this expensive.
Point where I don't agree:
Range is less - i think it is fine. 200 also means a lot for most of the users. That's what average Indians do in a week. It can be best 2nd car (for city) in the home. Most economical. BTW looking at the initial success I am sure they will come with a bigger battery pack soon.
Excellent analysis sir.. and thank you 🙏
I took a test drive twice just to reconfirm the tyre noise issue in the cabin.. and yes it is pretty much there.. so do you think it is a good enough reason to not buy this car.. do we get used to the sound in the long run.. can we ignore this shortcoming and look at other pros..
Publish the second part.
Sure sir
Without a bigger battery and being such a huge car it does not qualify for family car or highway car... Better they could have brought a small car with this battery pack..... It might be a good choice for corporate executives travel within city or to bring expats from Airport to the office within city... They would love it....
Sir..I am from Karnataka😊❤...This my first first first comment in my life for youtuber.😊till today no comments in facebook or Instagram or RUclips 😊..but i like your suggestions...From the last year i search about lots of cars like Cng, petrol, diesel and ev..my monthly running minimum1500 to 2000 km that's way i am going to plan for EV..and also search in all ev cars..like punch, Nexon, mahindra ... Finally i decided to booking plan for Windsor Mid variant...but still confused about punch ev Empower plus (13.5 lakh)or Nexon ev Fearless 40 or 45 kwh (14.5 to 15 lakh) and Windsor exclusive(14.5 lakh).. after clear this doubts i will go for booking next week..still i am confused.and waiting for booking...why bcz this my first first car in my life..lots of dreams here😊..if once purchase my the car, freely drive..❤😊😊..so plz suggest..punch ev empower plus or nexon fearless or Windsor exclusive????

I have booked the top variant. Indeed This car has the best seating comfort specially if you have a driver. And Yes I agree that suspension is not that good. Excellent for city if you have to commute daily 2 to 3 hours in traffic.
Absolutely 👍

To answer in short yes.. if you want to know why then I suggest book a consultation with me
Problem with the Nexon is that it makes a lot of other cars feel uncomfortable. I think the problem is with the big alloys on Windsor, the base model will feel more comfortable.
Fair point
Windsor wheelbase is almost similar to hector plus and in luxury it is more then creta I took a test drive for me the driving seat is more comfortable I will go with Windsor then Tata
Good choice sir.. congratulations
Absolutely..👍
Sir ek video nexon ka bhi please range test(unedited) and jo problems aarahi hai RUclips pe jo logo be discuss kar rahe hai about part quality !!! Please ek video banaye.😊
Very very soon
Thank you bro ♥️.. good for ncr challenging for the hills..
Windsor would be my 1st choice if they launch 50+ kw battery pack version... As they have it in other markets...

Great explanation sir.. hope to see you join our telegram community 🙏
That just shows how china has reached so far ahead in terms of evs
I was just blown away by Windsor
It’s so far ahead in terms of interior quality from others ..
MG will be releasing more such cars now that jsw has stake in it ..
Next in line is yep plus second quarter of 2025 ..

Creta ev and Maruti evx is also coming ..
Mahindra will be also releasing there born ev cars ..

Base model .. 15.20 lakhs on road
Now that same car cost 13 on road with launch of Windsor ..
Must for highway driving
While the ac is adequate for monsoons, it will definitely have a hard time cooling the enormous cabin during summer afternoons. It will have to work extra extra hard if you have the glass roof version and will eat into range.
They should have given an option of 50-60kwh battery, because without range, what's even the use of a big boot space in the city?
Excellent conclusion brother..
BEST is a Big word for this 38kw Car and in under 30Lakh now it has to be the byd e7Max 71kw version as the Best EV in india 🤔

6.Sofa type old seats

Buy Tata Nexon Red Dark 45kw variant

Yes it really does
Most Indians are not avid long journey travellers. Windsor, I believe, targets that majority audience. Therefore, having a grudge against the lower range is needless from that perspective.
The main selling point, the 135° recline, also I believe is a gimmick. Won't be used in city travel much, and when having luggage behind, won't be able to recline 😂
The BaaS model is also a gimmick, as it is a Financing masquerading as a Service.
Can the 'subscription rates' increase over the years, or would 3.5 remain 3.5 even in the 8th year?, etc. etc.
