- In this episode I break it down once more and check every motor and make sure they are working, hoping that will get the whole thing to work again.

Hey! I happen to be working on one of these myself at the moment. Great tip: the gears all have little indexing holes in the teeth on 'em, and the shell even has some tiny holes so you can see if they're aligned when putting things together. So long as those all line up your limit switches and such are all put together well
I found you through The 8-Bit Guy. Glad I've found your channel.
Cool... Glad you found me.
So much effort gone into the design of these toys. Amazing...
I always wanted one of these.
This is great! Robots & their inner workings have always facinated me to no end.
Great skills you have working on these bots.... Good job!
Thank you. It's what I do... Make little "doo-dads".
Good job! I also own an Omnibot 2000, just replace main battery and test it. Everything works except the arm, fingers and wrist rotation instead work well. I think I'll have to take it apart to see if there is any contact is broken. I also have to redo the tires, what material did you use for the tires?
It's a urethane rubber. I sell the tires on my website robotrefurb.com, and also on ebay. Just note, hacks have ripped me off on ebay. Don't fall for their inferior product.
I have the Maxx steel robot. The reason I didn't get the Omnibot 2000, i already had the omnibot. If you could add some new tech to these robots you really have something.
I always liked the omnibot 2000. I never had one but I did have a heathkit hero jr. I sold him years ago. I built my own robot in the 90's, his name was bud. I do own a heathkit hero one robot and several smaller ones.
AWESOME!
I finally found a female nerd! Shall I show you my robot collection? :)
Thanks for the videos! Very clear and informative! Quick question: does the remotes work on both models? (Because I am missing the 2000 remote)
No.. Same frequency, but the 2000 uses different tones.
Randi Rain Thanks again! Found your channel today and I am very happy I did. Keep up the great work!
@@RandiRain Fun little robot-story: I bought a Omnibot 2000 last weekend in The Netherlands complete with the serving tray. Because it wasn't tested and the remote was missing I bought it for around $100. Yesterday till my big surprise I found the remote in the 'secret' Omnibot drawer in the back of the robot. Placed a new 6V battery and the 2000 works flawless! Even the serving tray. Pretty amazing! Thanks again for your videos! All the best Kay Coenen
Hi, the problem that I have now is that the motors all work , but when the robot has to move forward , one motor does not work . The motor does actually work on its own ,but will not work when it is told to . I find that it is yellow and orange wire where the problem is or where it connects to the main board . Can you help ?
It's probably the switch on the back that turns on and off the motor for using the accessories. It's probably oxidized. Use some WD-40 in the switch and move it back and forth. I've seen that problem many times.
Are you saying that if those back panel switches are on, then the robot will not move forward ? Like I said, the robot will move a little .
The arm that doesn't move looks like it has the workings or spots for motors
Great work!
Thank you.
That was it. Your voice reminds me of Little Washu from Tenchi!
I don't know who that is, but must be a pretty cool character. :-)
I need your help. My omnibot2000 will not turn on and the fuse keeps blowing with a new battery. I can send you the robot and you can charge me for restoring it? Let me know.
So what do you think ultimately got it working again?
Either the "un-gunking" of the gears and motors so it could complete the initial start up test, and/or me cleaning the circuit board on the remote real good. It seemed stuck as if the 'turn left' button was down.
Wait, so the left arm is just a dummy arm? I never knew that.
Or as they call it.. a manual arm.
