just some fancy video cutting to skip the part where you can't actually tighten up 2 pf the screws because there's a big thing blocking the screw head 2:28
Just leaving some thoughts and tips here. As others have said, the video helps but overall instructions are lacking. The video glosses over some details that are crucial. So my tips and lessons below: 1. It helps watching the video at 0.25 speed as you do the install. 2. Take note as the racks have left and right pieces. The instructions note this in one of the steps but the image makes sense only after you get there. 3. Read the instructions as well as the video! Each one seems to have the missing detail the other passes over. 4. The instructions would help with telling you which pieces are redundant in a roof rail installation. 5. The instructions have torque settings. I don’t know anyone with a torque screwdriver so you are going by feel. Would be good if it stated this somewhere. I have a torque wrench but is much too large and overkill for this application. You are lead to believe the kit has everything you need. It makes you panic a bit when the video warns you not to overtighten. 6. It would be so helpful with some context about why you do certain things as well as an overview of the components. For instance, loosening the screw 5 turns (10 full turns in the instructions) lets you push in the “adjustment button” to lengthen the rails. Could not see this in the instructions as others have said because they have no words. This one small detail which is covered for about 3 seconds in this video means all the difference between spending hours frustrated trying to get the rails to the right width. THIS IS WHY PEOPLE ARE FRUSTRATED AND STRUGGLE! 6.B. THERE IS AN LENGTH ADJUSTMENT BUTTON. This lets you adjust the length of the racks to suit your roof rails. This was a game changer and didn’t really see it covered, nor how to best set it up. There are some images in the instructions to warn you to make sure they are evenly space on both ends (kinda common sense) but again, important details that can easily be missed! 7. minor detail but didn’t see the need to remove the protective film until after the install. It was easy as and didn’t get in the way. Why not just leave it on to protect the rails during the install? 8. When reinstalling the lock covers, the nose has to go into the tracks. You kind of have to push the rubber cover down to slot it in in the first place. Don’t try and push it in and then click it down later as you can’t and the lock semi engages making it hard to pull off and correct. 8. Minor suggestion to clean your rails before putting the racks on. Kind of common sense but is easy to forget. 9. When first inserting the main tightening bolt, make sure the head is pushed all the way in and seated as far as possible. To do this you need to push the tightening clamp as far back as possible and first insert the bolt at an angle. Once in you can straighten it and guide it into the clamp. If you don’t, you will find the bolt sticks out and when you go to tighten it you can’t get the head past the seat as it is larger than the thread. Again a warning would have been nice rather then putting the racks on the roof rails and find you can’t get it past at that angle. 10. As others have said you need to ball end of the hex key so you can tighten at an angle. I found the screw goes first in at an angle but quickly corrects/straightens itself, guessing because the thread and pitch is large/aggressive enough to avoid skipping a thread. Not sure if this is intentional but would suggest shushing the design rather than compensating with the thread of the screw. There were other little quibbles in there. Overall it wasn’t the most challenging install, but so much stress could be alleviated with better instructions!

Hi Shaun, the Allen key that is provided has a ball end made for tightening up screws that are on an angle.
Agreed the paper installation guide is horrendous

The paper instructions are trash. Our model didn’t match the instructions, even the video ones.
Trash.
