- That title sounds a lot more grand when you know it isn't just a sidequest lol. Today, the world starts to open up with life as we meet more demons to befriend and do some side quests for! We probably won't do too many of those, as they can add tons and tons of time to this playthrough from what I know. But we'll get to Tokyo Tower, we swear!

Gonna need you guys to trust me…do the sidequests. If you want, have them be separate episodes, but you DEFINITELY want to do them ALL. 50% are straightforward and easy, the other 50% is VERY interesting or gives you additional boss fights (that you can fuse afterward😉)
And almost all of them have hilarious or interesting dialogue, even if the quest itself is straightforward.
Some sidequest givers, like Demeter later on, even have their own (jamming) unique music.
i get why you would want to avoid sidequests, but theyre really worth doing. a lot of them unlock things youll want, theyre a great source of exp, and theyre also just silly fun a lot of the time
the exp especially is a big deal, without sidequests the game gets a lot more grindy (ironically i think youd need to play longer if you dont do them)
You know, the seeming disdain for sidequests aside, A lot of sidequests are worth doing, even if they have to become bonus episodes or something. (Most of them are usually easy, very straightforward, or already gonna be on the path you are going down anyways...)
And most of rewards are really worthwhile
@@debishvebishwish4839 That very much so.
I don't think anyone would mind if you do all the side quests on camera, since you get to talk to a bunch of different demons and the dialogue can be pretty fun. But it's up to you. They usually give pretty good rewards.
People call SMT grindy, but I've found myself overleveled just by doing sidequests. Which is a much more fun way of leveling anyway.
@@HollowGolemI barely grind back in SMT V on the switch and even without the addition of side quests in vengeance, I still didn’t grind.
@@heyyodude8637 Yeah, I think the only time you ever "need" to grind is if you've just skipped every sidequest. As someone else in the comments section said, it's actually _faster_ to just do the quests.
Inaba in Persona 4 is a reference to the Hare of Inaba, who first appeared in Devil Summoner. This is ironic because Hare of Inaba never appeared in P4 as a persona, but did in PQ2.
The Long Boy 6:23 and Seth 9:41 in the same episode. Ali was overjoyed.
Ultimately it's your choice but I'd definitely suggest doing the sidequests in this game. SMT V's main story is way more minimalist than the Persona games, but the sidequests tend to provide interesting glimpses into the lore of the netherworld. At the very least, they'll have some good demon dialogue to chuckle at.
Pass takes half a press turn like hitting a weakness or getting a critical does. Your total amount of press turns never increases
(Except some magatsuhi abilities like the Zoroastrian angel periapt one or certain passives like Yoshitsune's, which can give you extra icons at the start of a turn)
@@HollowGolem I'm explaining the basics here to help him wrap his head around the system.
The +2 and -2 for lightning skills on Agathion and Unicorn respectively doesn't actually have anything to do with resistances and immunities. That's all based on skill potential (the array of numbers up above the list of skill during fusion). There is often a correlation between what demons are weak to/strong against and what they are good and bad at using, but not always.
At 42:08 you can see this at the top right (ish) of the screen, Unicorn has -2 Electric, +2 Light, -1 Ailment (status effects), +1 Recovery, and +1 Support (buffs and debuffs).
At 41:20 you can see Agathion, with -4 Cold, +2 Electric, and +2 Support. Note that despite being weak to Dark, it doesn't have negative skill potential.
Exactly what skill potential does varies a bit from skill to skill, but generally speaking, positive skill potential means more of "the thing" (whatever it is) for a lower cost, and negative potential means less of "the thing" (whatever it is) for a higher cost.
edit: typo/grammar
We found the longboys! 🐕As for the side quests its really up to you, but I'd be fine with seeing them considering there isn't much story to the main story bits like Persona games. So seeing something like the side quests would be entertaining to see.
I had a feeling Ali would like chonky boye, Zhu Tun She
The skills being better/worse or costing more/less isn't exactly tied to a demon's weaknesses, they're tied to the "skill potentials" (the numbers after each skill ex. "Zio+2" or "Agi-3", and you can see these in the top right of the fusion screen).
Though usually, if a demon is resistant to something, they'll probably have a high potential with it, and if they're weak, they'll likely have a negative potential with it. Not always, but that is a pretty good rule of thumb.
Trust me the side quests are def worth it. Some of them you would even get a great laugh out of and I don’t think anyone would mind seeing the side quests on video.
Nightly monarchs are welcome in the netherworld.
Here's a tip on passing: it works the same as hitting a weakness or a crit, in that it turns one of your full icons into a half icon. If you don't have any full icons, then a pass just wastes a turn (as you saw at 23:20)
Now we just need a very tall tower to complete the set
Other Magatsuhi skills will show up as options when you have the appropriate demons in your party.
And the appropriate talismans/periapts.
It's such a needlessly cumbersome system to add new options that, 90% of the time, are worse than the "oops all crits" one you start with.
So, what demon do you think this title is referring to? Personally, I think it’s a succubus
Good job with the mermaid fight. Many people forgot to save before that fight and lost hours of progress.
15:00 Young man count
Young man total- 24
Very dramatic for a side quest
please do the sidequests
It always feel nice to have a Puss In Boots on your team and imagine them talking in a Spanish accent 💀
How do you reach the quest markers that locate on top of building rooftop 9:36 pixel 😮?.
i was hoping for ytou guys to play rogue trader
I don’t know how far in advance you record, but an “Alice” is coming up so remember confirm skips attack cutscenes
24:23 pass uses half a turn (turns it flashy) like crits and weak hits. If all are flashy it uses a flashy turn.
