Please Google.. cook county probate and you will find horror stories (Guardian got judge to approve the removal of gold from a senior's mouth so the guardian could be paid). When an attorney tried to expose these injustices, his law license was suspended for 5 years. The court said he was under minding the court system. It has been going on for years. So if a nursing home administrator wants to control a resident & or their family, that administrator just contacts the guardian's office. Then that senior is made an award of the state. The family no longer can see their relative or know anything about them any more. So much for freedom in the USA! So most people seeing this movie will never really know that this crap really happens. We need major reform as to protect our seniors from the corrupt government employees.

She did an amazing job in this movie. You can only feel pure hatred towards her character from the very beginning. As you progress in this film and realize she is not being tortured by her counterpart you can feel your blood boiling from the inability to pull her fingernails and make her eat them. I love this movie so much!

this movie really struct a chord with me, as my sister happens to live in a nursing home and because of the pandemic theyve really imprisoned people. cant leave their rooms, and i havent seen her for a 9 months despite 0 cases in her home. really scared the shit out of me watching the first 25 mins of this

Coupla top actors here. Pike has been noticeably busy these last few years. Triple threat - attractive, intelligent, can act the pants off variety of roles. Dianne Weist is a sniper. She never plays too big or over the top but always delivers the goods with pinpoint accuracy. This better live up to the cool trailer’s hype. Too much streaming stuff promises a proper movie but ends up a glorified telemovie. Nothing wrong with telemovies, though, as Based On An Untrue Story doth testify to.

Well, I think many people were triggered because this is unfortunately a very very real issue that occurs with the elderly. Also, people don't like movies where there is not even one good person. None of the characters in this movie were good, or even close to good. All evil. Makes people see humanity for what it really is and further lose faith. That could be a reason behind the dislikes. This isn't exactly how I feel myself, but just a guess on what could be going on in other people's minds.
It was also a man-hate propaganda piece, trying to make one feel compassion for pure demons..almost to feel sorry for them. Even DeCaprio in Wolf of Wallsteet was portrayed as a detestable person, but these evil girls were portrayed as golden and glamorous all the way to the end.

They convince a judge that the old person cannot take care of themselves, then they legally force that person from their home, and into their eldercare home, and as payment they take the house and sell it. Coupla top actors here. Pike has been noticeably busy these last few years. Triple threat - attractive, intelligent, can act the pants off variety of roles. Dianne Weist is a sniper. She never plays too big or over the top but always delivers the goods with pinpoint accuracy.
This better live up to the cool trailer’s hype. Too much streaming stuff promises a proper movie but ends up a glorified telemovie. Nothing wrong with telemovies, though, as Based On An Untrue Story doth testify to.

This was a great movie. It kept me watching and had alot of twists. I also did not predict what happened in the end, which almost never happens. Great performance by all actors, highly recommended watching it.

Well, I think many people were triggered because this is unfortunately a very very real issue that occurs with the elderly. Also, people don't like movies where there is not even one good person. None of the characters in this movie were good, or even close to good. All evil. Makes people see humanity for what it really is and further lose faith. That could be a reason behind the dislikes. This isn't exactly how I feel myself, but just a guess on what could be going on in other people's minds.

It was also a man-hate propaganda piece, trying to make one feel compassion for pure demons..almost to feel sorry for them. Even DeCaprio in Wolf of Wallsteet was portrayed as a detestable person, but these evil girls were portrayed as golden and glamorous all the way to the end.

Someone who has seen it can chime in and say that the predictable bit with assassins is just a dream sequence or never actually occurs in the movie itself. However, I suppose that 10 mins into the movie the tension is broken when it is revealed that everyone is an assassin. In fact everyone in the elder-care facility are retired assassins. I expect the sequel will have zombies and time-travel.

This actually happens in real life. Companies do exactly this to old people. They convince a judge that the old person cannot take care of themselves, then they legally force that person from their home, and into their eldercare home, and as payment they take the house and sell it.
Look up The Guardians documentary. What a sick country that allows this.
