I’d love to see a slower explanation to how you do your dragons. I’ve been tattooing 17 years and always like seeing/hearing peoples process’

Right on. Maybe I can do a shorter video that focuses on that. Thanks for the suggestion!

Absolutely amazing Jerad, the colour combinations are stunning, you really put a lot of work into this piece, Is the drawing available anywhere?. Again absolutely amazing.

Thank you! Thanks again for the suggestions. The sketch isn’t posted anywhere, and I haven’t posted the full video of the sketching process. I was waiting to see if there was any interest. The painting is posted on my IG though.

Why do you put yellow down before going over with red?

In this case it makes the color more “full” or more red. If I were to only layer the red color it would end up looking a bit more pink in the highlight areas. I’m bad at explaining myself. Does this make sense?

@ yeah that makes perfect sense. I had no idea is did that. Makes sense because I painted a dragons belly red recently and it just looks reddish pink. How does someone learn about color like this?

In my case it was a bit of trial and error and watching how other folks paint. Every paint brand is a bit different too. Every time I go to the art store I check for new paints or inks I can try out.
