  • How to describe transformations involving a translation, rotation, reflection and enlargement from mr-mathematics...
The full lesson includes a starter, 2 mains, plenary and a worksheet and can be downloaded from mr-mathematics...
Students learn how to fully describe single transformations at GCSE. Throughout the lesson students encounter translations, reflections, rotations and enlargements.
    Differentiated Learning Objectives
All students should be able to fully describe a single transformation using a rotation or translation.
Most students should be able to fully describe a single transformation as a reflection, rotation or translation.
Some students should be able to fully describe a single transformation as an enlargement, reflection, rotation or translation

Thank you so much! Could I ask you if there’s any case in which we can find two types of transformation? For example reflection and enlargement, or rotation and transition, something like that?

You are normally asked to describe a single transformation. You could be asked to describe a combination of two separate transformations. Hope this helps.

thanks! great vid. but how did you find the centre for the enlargement as well as for the rotation on the last question

You can draw rays from each matching vertex on the object and image. The rays from each vertex will intersect at the same point, the centre of enlargment.
