      Actually that "T" is for "Trifluorochloride", F3Cl, and yes, it does cause chemists to empty their bowels upon hearing there is some nearby. While it does not contain oxygen, it's the most potent oxidizer known to man. An "oxidizer" is anything that can oxidize another chemical, AKA "fire". Only in this case, the chemicals it can cause to burn include things like "asbestos".

    The “T-rex Pimples” would be what we refer to as Osteoderms. They’re basically hardened, bony deposits that can be found on parts of an animal, where it would usually act as armour.
    Tyrannosaurus, from what we know, didn’t have osteoderms. However Tyrannosaurus did have keratin that ran along its nasal (Ridge along the top of the snout) where it then turned into two round-ish horns on either side of the head, which grew above the orbit (eye socket) and Postorbital (Behind the top of the eye socket.) It has had a small spike of keratin growing on the bottom of its Jugal (Cheek).

    straight up, perfect rendition of every toddler-to-eleven-year-old boy's fantasy toy dreams. and though i agree with helianthus photon on the skin texture in the comments, the fact that he's wielding flamethrowers tells me your biggest priority wasn't realism lol. but it came out SO COOL
    also, when you said t. rex shed his feathers due to them being a fire hazard, that turned out to be a solid decision. pretty sure the consensus from the sciencing people is that tyrannosaurs did not have feathers - at least, not as adults. a fossilized dilong paradoxus had a coat of tiny, almost downy protofeathers coating its body to stay warm, but it's likely they didn't need these at maturity. anyway, awesome work, man!

    6:29 Actually, at this point it's accurate to reconstruct T. rex with or without feathers. There are fossilized skin impressions that only show scales, but they are small and from areas of the body that probably wouldn't have feathers if they were present. There is a feathered relative of Tyrannosaurus, but it lived millions of years before T. rex and on a different continent, so feathers on Tyrannosaurus rex aren't guaranteed. The main theory that people go with now is that baby T. rexes had downy feathers that they gradually lost as they aged. So Dave did shed his feathers, but not because of safety concerns.

      @riot2136 Год назад +27

      @@galvanizedgnome inferring the level of musculature is actually a lot easier and less prone to inaccuracies than say inferring the level of feathering or scales a dinosaur had. This is because the size and strength of muscles have a direct correlation to certain features of the skeleton, that being the size and robustness of ‘muscle attachment points’. This is where certain skeletal muscles attach and brace to the bones. Using the specific parameters of such attachment points can allow you to calculate a rough estimate of the amount of force a muscle could exert when contracting, it’s how the bite force of extinct animals is estimated for example. Going back to what the op said tho, although I doubt a trex would’ve had the arm mobility or strength to rip a human completely *in half* , based on the size of various muscle attachment points and bone thickness within the shoulder and arms, their arms definitely were considerably stronger than a humans, with an individual arm most likely being able to curl a couple hundred pounds without too much trouble. I’m no expert though, so take what I’ve said with a grain of salt and if you’re interested, I’d recommend you do some research of your own into the intricacies of calculating muscle strength. Also search up a picture of ‘trex and human arm bone’ and you’ll see pics comparing the size. Although arm length is somewhat similar, trex arms are much thicker bone-wise so even without all this stuff I’ve said, you could easily assume they were pretty jacked lmao

      Wireless LED.. but... how do it work if it do not got wire to connect power supply? Unless it's got the battery built into the housing, in which case it'd have a housing that needs to be hidden away somewhere!

    • @peppernacl5057
      @peppernacl5057 Год назад +3

      @@NorthoftheBorder The LEDs work by receiving power from an induction coil. it's quite low profile. it's just a little copper wire and a small batery pack. youd have to place the induction coil and batteries within one foot of the lights. you could easily hide it under a shelf with the sculpt on top, or build it into a base. or, at the risk of showing my age, just always sculpt a stargate around it. that would explain ,say the existance of a mech-shark. you can fairly easily make custom LEDs for the system as well. there are several tutorials you can find with a quick search. you could have a sculpture of superman that has green glowing viens when you get him too close to the kryptnite with the hidden wireless LEDS. I just thought it might be a cool thing for you to play around with.
