Any update on how you like the new soles in terms of comfort/durability? I’ve had a pair of the old ones for a few years which I love but they’re getting worn out
I watch this video 1 day too late 1. I miss the box, I used the Tiffany blue to storage season small items 2. Shoes feels small to me, my first white koios were super comfortable out of the box, the new ones are walkable however after 2-3 hours painful 3. The laces are skinny making the shoe looks cheaper
Please do the follow up video because to me these are *big* changes. I have 2 of their old pairs and they are amazing. But I noticed this change and was a bit skeptical about it.
Been a long time koio guy, and these have dipped in quality big time. Just received my last pair of capris that i will order. The sole feels cheap. The insole doesn't even match up inside, leaving all of the stiching visible. They ditched the gold stamping for a black smudgy print on the inside of the tongue. After 4 light wears, they look as worn in as my 2 year old pair that was the old model. They also widened the toe box so much that i have about a half inch of wiggle room. The laces are now stupid thin. I couldn't be any more disappointed. Every single detail on these have been a victim of cost cutting, and they now cost more
I think they are close, I like the back half of the 1st gen and front of the new. If I had to pick one I would have had them keep up with the old model
Hey, I appreciate your detailed reviews, but I do have one question regarding a recently purchased pair of Koio Capri Triple Whites. The outside top of the tongue has koio with New York City written underneath it instead of having the koio brand logo. It is to be noted that the cloth bag included with the shoes also says koio New York City. Is this a new style/design change? These were purchased directly from the company website.
I have a quesiton. Is it possible i received a fake pair from the koio store. I order caprill in triple white and sandstone . the triple white say "koio New York City" on the tongue and the sandstone has the emblem with no wording.
I just got a pair of these on sale and the heel on these seems lower now, like they are constantly slipping off. Did you have a similar experience? Is this something that gets better over time? I'm thinking of returning these and going with another shoe like Idrese Nunos instead since the backs are not as low on those.
Im also having the same problem, i ordered already a half size down than my regular stan smith size. Overall fitting seems okay but the heels keep slipping off most of the time. Please let me know the solution if you guys can fix this too without returning it because it is not convenient for me to exchange from where I’m living right now.
@@nishn4383 hey mate sry for the late reply. I put another insoles and wearing with a thicker sock fit better now. Heels still wanna slip a little though but a lot better than it was. I think for your case, removing the original insoles or replace it with a thinner ones and sticking the heel grip stickers will help i guess. 🤞🏼
I had the same problem and replaced the insole with a Dr Martins insole which allowed my heel to sit deeper and gave more grip on the heel as the koio insoles are quite thick under the heel. I put them in a pair of Dr Martins Chelsea boots but they were hopeless in those as well.
I think I have a buy one cry once mentality on common projects. Yes they are expensive but you came here for this one and only thing. Still a tad conflicted on this though. I like that Saint Laurent SL06 more though.
Yeah it’s a tough change forsure. But at the end on it 99% of people wouldn’t be able to tell the difference anyway. They would be like “oh nice white sneakers, are they Stan Smiths” 😂 always good to hear from you my friend.
I too been wondering about these premium style of sneakers but I'm worried about the achilles. I like to walk around in spring and summer, like if I'm out and I walk home that's a 30-40 minute walk and I might do that several times a week. These are zero drop and flat footed right?
They are, but extremely comfortable for it. Plus I think you should be able to remove the foot bed insoles and put your favorite support system in. If you are looking for a similarly designed shoe with more comfort check out the Ecco soft 7
@The Ashby Tapes you have to say it's false because they've paid you to promote their shoes. But watching video on their shoes being cut in half and comparing that leather against other shoe company leather, it's the same. Nice try, though.....
@@Brent_Fiore Because the quality of the box has literally nothing to do with a review of the shoe. It's like saying because the cover of a book is boring, the book is boring.
@@negnug That's crazy, you stopped watching because he's "judging a book by its cover", which in turn makes it so you're judging this video by its cover 💀
@@brugbug165 Not quite. If I'm seeking a review of a certain kind of ice cream but the review includes the quality of the box it came in or the glass that holds it, then it is no longer a fair assessment of the ice cream itself.
That’s fair. That is why I would go through a company like Nordstrom. They have great customer service and they don’t have a return policy if you like them. Definitely give them a try.
You're missing the point. These shoes cost $300. When you spend that kind of money on a *sneaker*, you expect at the very least a nice box. I personally keep my shoes inside the box even if it takes a bit more space. Now imagine taking your $300 pair of shoes out of a cheap recycled box. If you market yourself as luxury, then you need to make sure you don't skimp on simple things like a box.
@pooolish334 That's not what I'm saying. I wasn't talking about receiving the shoes. I was talking about what people do with the box _after_ receiving the shoes. Like you, i also expect a $300 pair of shoes to arrive in a nice, attractive box. If it arrived in a cheap, ugly box, I'd be disappointed. However, what I don't understand is why someone would _keep_ the box. It may be a nice box, but it is still a box. I receive the shoes, admire the box, then i recycle the box.
@kit2770 Well, I can give you a few reasons why someone would keep a box: 1. For selling purposes in the future - Believe it or not a lot of people buy expensive shoes like these in order to use them for a year or two and then sell them to buy the same shoe but new. That same box will protect the shoes when they are shipped, and it gives the seller an advantage over someone selling the shoes without the box. 2. To protect the shoes from accumulated dust - This is one of my personal reasons. If you have your shoes out of the closet or on a shelf in your room, when you clean your dusty room, you can save yourself the trouble of cleaning the shoes that you haven't use for a long time or your "once in an occasion" shoes. Just wipe the top of the box slightly and you're good to go. 3. To preserve the all of the items that came with your expensive shoe - If you buy, for example, a $90 nike and it's just a regular box then I understand why you would throw it away. But if I get a nice embroided box with my $300+ shoe, then I would like to keep my shoes in the original embroidered box they came in. I can give you more reasons, but I believe these ones suffice. I know everyone is not the same, but in this case, a $300 luxury advertised shoe should come in a nice box whether the buyer keeps it or not.
@pooolish334 Fair enough. What you say makes sense. If I remember correctly, I think the guy in the video mentioned not wanting to keep the box on his shelf because, in his opinion, it doesn't look as good as the old box. So, my original comment was written with that in mind--simply keeping the box for display purposes. Its keeping the box purely for display purposes that i would find a bit odd. But _your_ reasons do make sense to me. Reselling, protection, organization, I get that.
@kit2770 Glad to know we could understand each other. And I see what you mean when it comes to display purposes. Although I wouldn't mind having a Gucci box as display purposes 😉 lol. But Koio is doing some questionable stuff, and I was very happy to stumble across this video. You can really see the differences in the updated shoe when you look at them side by side.
I’ve had my triple whites for 3 years and they still look new. Mr clean magic erasers and she trees are your friends.

Did the outsoles get thicker after they got rid of the Margom sole?
I wouldn’t say thicker but maybe a bit more comfortable. Via cushion on the inside

I had that same issue. I figured it was because of the size, so I returned mine and sized down. Hopefully I won’t have that problem again

Do they run big? I’m a 10.5 US and I know they don’t have half sizes. I’m thinking about the Capri X in Triple white thanks

Size down.
Looks like a much thicker outsole and less/lower body of leather. KOIO is cutting corners and is soon to be an overpriced ordinary brand.
Decent shoes for sure, but their customer service is terrible, I'll never buy another pair because of it!
