Biffa builds huge over capacity of public transport then provides endless amounts of parking 😆😆
Less parking needed when you have a strong, robust and practical system of public transportation. ^^
Well large sports centers and mega shopping malls just feel American/ Anglo. So gotta stick with the aesthetic. The functionality however, well I'd rather not.
Not even parking shaded with trees 😢Just lots and lots of pavement… It’s so ugly
he needs a lot of parking, he didn't put any lines into the sporty things, monorail is just decoration
Just like real life 😂
12:14 Wouldn't it make more sense to change the direction of the 1u roads on that parking lot so that they can instantly turn right into where they're parking.
The way you have it setup now they have to go all the way past the parking lot then go around to the back, and to leave they have to come out and merge with everyone comming in on the access road.
I was thinking the same thing.
Agree. I was thinking that the whole time
Maybe the feeding road from underneath the train track could attach on the highway edge of the parking lot.
This would avoid traffic circling around the parking lot.
You would just have to turn around the one way road...
I think adding two walking paths across the river would be helpful. One at the back of the hospital and one at the back of the monorail station you just added.
Monorail could also potentially cross the river behind the stadium
This was the exact reason I came here to comment. Could be cool use of those small islands in the river too
Exactly my thoughts when I saw the river
@@brooza664 He should have used normal one
@@brooza664 also Metro dropped
@BIFFA You should connect the road between the Police & Fire station's to the Industrial road going round the back of the Mall. It will increase coverage & also allow faster egress to calls for the stations. Would lock the small link road to Emergency Vehicles Only to stop cut through by normal minions
Yes, like in real life, all new developments in my area require a secondary entrance for emergency access. Homes can be on cul-de-sacs, but every commercial building has more than one way in.
As an Aussie, I love the inclusion of AFL. Cricket is also quite popular here too! Also, I hope you know the 100% traffic thing is a glitch 😅
But where are the goals!? Who stole the goals!?
As a kiwi why did you destroy New Tealand 😂😂
Good day Biffa, I'm loving this extension today. A small thing with the parking lot one-way system. Wouldn't it be better if the single lane roads between the lots went off the main parking road instead of onto it?
In the current way, traffic doubles itself because both new parkers and people leaving are forced to use that road, whereas the flipped version leaves the road for new parkers and funnels leaving people up and to the left, becoming the only people on the exit part of the road.
yes, also the fact, that you need to drive along the whole parking lot, and on your way back you can park.
Or alternate their directions, which you occasionally see in those mega parking lots from time to time.
You gotta love waking up and finding a Biffa video to watch 😀
Hope you enjoy!
Congrats Biffa 100% trafficflow in New Tealand....AMAZING
Many thanks!
I suspect next episode he'll tell us his settings were on easy mode, or something like that 🤣 I just don't trust a 100% trafficflow in a mayor city like that. But I'd like to be proven wrong.
Nope, 100% it happened as you saw on screen. No shenanigans, no kiggery-pokery. It just happened and I was as suprised as you! :-)
25:45 no one can get out of there, you left a one way road in meaning no one can leave
👍
You forgot to add the underground metro to the Aussie football fields from the massive hub!!!
Love it! You always have the best looking cities! Congrats on hitting 100% on traffic even if it was for a short time. For a city this big that is impressive!!
Thanks so much!!
Hey Biffa, I think that the new monorail station, since it is not connected to any road is gonna give you constant problems: fire, rime, dead people, etc.
And did you forget the metro stop in the new football area?
and wouldn't it be good to actually have a monorail running on that track ...
Biff, the smaller oval is usually reserved for games played at community club levels, much like you'd probably see for football in the UK. Larger ovals are for league games played between states. Good job on the 100% traffic flow.
The stadium needs to be named Rivertea stadium as a play on Middlesbrough's home ground Riverside. Loved this episode Biffa, the area looks amazing!
Also, the statue of Industry would look great next to the footie ground.
I think adding American style hotels around the new arenas and transit would fit. Things like holiday inn, or Hilton. Those 4 to 5 story buildings that pop up at every interstate exit or near any major event space.
Looks nice, could do with some bars/restaurants near the Timber Box and changing rooms by the sports park.
Love the episode!!!
Just as a suggestion why not take the elevated metro to the Australian football fields.
Also love all the details around the place.
Biffa, why not move the monorail stop by the soccer stadium to the front of the building instead of off the side. It will be closer to the mall also. There will probably be more constant traffic to a mall than a minimally used soccer stadium. Also, I think the monorail stop in front of the stadium walking path would look really nice. Just a suggestion.
You could use the monorail as a connection to the other side of the canal 😊
Also great Video (haven’t finished watching it yet)
I think that this would be a great way to bring people to the stadium and also to the transport Hub. Perhaps could split monorail here to cross in 2 directions (so new station would be base of a "Y") to service more areas
where you added the police and fire you could connect it to the industrial road so that there as an easier for them to move around. you can also set it for the emergency vehicles only so people don't just cut thru. overall very great additions to the city.
Hey Biff absolutely love your videos, do you think we'll ever see the development of a European style old town with cafés and restaurants, a Palace and gardens and a botanical garden and some historical government buildings, maybe a court house, cathedral, some statues, museum, a marina, an old fort or Castle, old tram route and then beside it a multicultural old town area with Korean assets perhaps?
At 14:27 You place the monorail station down. Then you did some jiggery-pokery because it made a weird connection before settling on its final position so people could walk out the back. I think a more efficient position would be parallel to the road next to the junction (and people can still walk out the back). This way you could run the rail pretty much in a straight line right into the station nearly parallel to the road instead of basically a 90° turn. Then do some jiggery-pokery to adjust the junction because you still have to run a road from the station If you want cars, in and out. Perhaps a four-way junction? It'll be a tight turn, but now at 29:35 when you bring your attention back to this area you'll have less work to do with your paths because the station may actually be naturally connected with the sidewalk anyway. Now you preserved much more building area. In my opinion though!
When you mentioned that timber box stadium it made me think of Timberborn, a diffrent kind of city builder game where you build a beaver colony. Not as complex as cities, but still fun.
Would be interesting to ee what kind of constructions biffa could come up with lol
I think that graveyard square at the start could be a historic park from past Tealand times. It's kind of adorable.
I commented once a long time ago thanking you for being a pleasant part of my mornings. In the proceeding years, life has changed quite a bit and my morning routine no longer includes RUclips. But when I can, I still catch a show now and again, and it's a strangely comforting experience during, what can be, difficult times. So, thanks again, man. From Pittsburgh, PA, US.
Every video it's like "he should put a path there" -> puts a path there in the next cut.. "he should put the fire station on the other side" -> puts the fire station on the other side in the next cut.. most satisfying content on youtube
😁
Biffa, very nice, 2 mistakes, the monorail station you use has road, so it needs a road. There is one without road too, then in the shopping center you create you used by accident a 1-way 2-lane road 28:22 the road on the left next to the small warehouse, nice on the Aussie sports facilities
Great build! I’d suggest moving the fire station. Being in a shopping center without direct access to the main road does not sound like a good idea. Shopping centers traffic can be crazy and trying to imagine a fire truck getting through that is wild
My 275k city has 89% traffic flow, it's the highest I've ever had on a city, with the public transport with thousands of users, and the downtown area is the main chock-a-block in my city.
Good day, Sir Biffa. I love all your videos and The development of your building, editing and presentational skills over the years is amazing! I love everything you build and your designs are astonishing. I would love to see more chilled music while watching your cims doing their daily business a bit more.
I guess among all the viewers there would probably be more people interested in simple "screen-saver" videos, showing your tiny ones doing their daily work, especially boarding and exiting public trans, enjoying a day at the park, going to school, shopping, bringing goods to your shops and so on. I know how satisfying it can be, to watch them all entering the trains, the busses and walking to the stadium, university and so on.
With your last years choice of chilled out music, maybe with a couple of teabreaks in between, I think those would be very enjoyable, while being a minimal effort for you. :)
Cannot wait for your content for CS 2! You are very insipring! I hope Paradox is well aware of your worth to the game!
Thankyou, very kind 👍😁👍
Perhaps you could use catch phrases, that get the attention of common *tubers. Call it "the top 10" or the "most beautiful" or whatever. like "the top 10 public transportations in CS...." or the "most beautiful CS views...". Add the chill-hop, the beautiful sights, that you have in your games anyway, that stop far to early at the end and people, who never thought, that screen savers could be as beautiful as in your cities, will join.
I for myself am always craving for seeing more of what you did for those 45 minutes and I believe, there are more!
I know, there are tons of people, who start up the game, after watching your vids, just to be let down by not being able to achieve, what you do there. At least give us a chance to see, what becomes of it!
"Most sceniec walkways at the sea", "the most visited parks in CS", "the most beautiful beachlives" and so on
The industrial road leading to the back of the mall also needs a crossing node. As of now, pedestrians must walk down to the collector road intersection to cross... or loop around the length of the road the other way
100% traffic flow. Impressive with a city that huge.
1. Add paths across the river
2. Add monorail across the river
3. More underground parking to be appealing to the eye
Sorry the demands LOL
@15:32 Biffa I am pretty sure there is a Monorail station that doesn't have a road beneath it that you may can use, instead of the one with the road beneath it. I think it still needs to be placed next to a road, but with the Move-it mode and some 'jiggery pokery', it may work nicer for you next to that boxy soccer stadium.
If the highway was sunken just behind the mall there could be a ground level crossing for a nicer route (for pedestrians) to get to the community sports fields than in tunnels.
Have to agree with you, biffa, that certainly is an impressive football stadium.
As always enjoy the videos,
however you cul de sac'ed both your fire station and police station so that any emergency traffic will have to go though all the people going to and from the multiple malls, however if you connected from beside the fire station to the back of the other large mall, you would reduce the cul du sac'ing and increase coverage area or an underpass to the football area would allow those emergency services to get in and out without passing the malls and to be already on the other side of the highway.
you also mentioned about putting in an underground stop to the football area and then completely seemed to forget about it.
keep up the videos they always make for a relaxing and interesting watch
21:34 I guess in the next episode of "Fix the traffic", Biffa will start with a stadium 😂
Once you've seen one big grouping of stores to shop at, you've seen the mall.
Noice! 😂
What about to add some leisure component to the area? With perfect mobility and huge sport venues it's a perfect place for a high-capacity hotel. A new cable-car connection to the hills may have some tourism synergy as well.
Biffa, dude! Just want to say I've been a fan for 2 or so years. I don't even play the game. I enjoy being on the ride of watching you build and fix cities. I wonder what the percentage is of viewers in my category that don't play? My wife has a request of a POV from Hugo, "A day in the life of being Hugo in New Tealand", she likes the 1st person views. Keep doing what you're doing buddy! 😁
Thankyou for watching and your wife too 😁. I like the idea 🤔
The two Aussie Football pitches built in the re-purposed farmlands can be called "Field of Two Creams" (like a tea-realated version of the movie "Field of Dreams)?
This is again such a cool episode. New Tealand Never Dies! Also, I thought it was hilarious to spot those many graveyards from the early days again. In the abundance of places to see, I'm sure a lot of quirky things like that go by unnoticed. But that is good! It leaves more options to come back to New Tealand for more episodes 🥳
0:19 cute trees on ramp, right side.
Hi Biffa, how are you? Would love to see a full on all inclusive type holiday resort complex right on the beach, what do you think?
Would love to see this!
Check your one way roads - I think your fire station / police station can be driven TO, but not away from.
hi biffa, you can chant when monorail station at the soccer stadium near the mall into an end station without roads because you can connect it with paths instead
The new area fits in perfectly!
0:58 Alan Partridge makes a guest appearance. 😂
Don’t forget to establish a monorail line
Sweet build but......
The monorail stop is the road version but not connected to a road...? Why not put it in the road?
I think the timber box stadium would have fit better if you rotated it and used a small road to attach it.
Attach the roads from the back of the parking lot area to the industrial road, gives the emergency vehicles option away from the busy hub area.
Underground metro stop near the Aussie Rules parks.
Why does it look like the Aussie football pitch is set up for a Pokémon battle 😂
It woudmbe great if you could get some of those paths going back into the PG tips, maybe some cross country tracks?
Loving the new tealand Biffa, keep it coming.
Love the Episode!!!
Would like to see a mountain town in new tealand
In your challenge build, replace the highway roundabouts with the elevated roundabout exit like you have in this build. That way all the highway is straight through with no interruptions. only people getting on and off the highway actually have to go through the roundabout.
00:16 Is that ZERO lane mathematics I see Biffa?
Yep, it's the freeway that came with the map; it doesn't have any marking tool lines yet either.
“Bleachers” THEY ARE GRAND STANDS BIFFA 😂😂 Grandstands
Hey Biffa the monorail station could be switched to the one that does not have a road under it sense you did not connect the road under the station to your road network also i did not see you add the stops to the line so it is not being used.
Wondering if he noticed the one 1-way road in the new area causing cars to have weird access to his smaller shopping malls. 25:50 shows it really well that it was missed in the upgrades. Right in front of the storage facility. Not a big problem, just an annoying one if you lived in the city.
You could call it T-eye-phoo tea Park because the Australian football pitches look like eyes, plus typhoo tea 😅
It would be nice to see more mass transit to the area with the aussie
stadiums - you already have some lines so it would be nice if ppl could get there without driving their car or walking long distance. Also, I think you forgot about putting a stop at the new monorail thingy.
Great build!! Did you ever create a monorail line between the hub and the end piece? Also, did the metro to the soccer fields get placed?
The part where you are next to the mall could have been a nice on and off service area off of the highway with parking, walk ways, and the Japan service center.
You could connect a metro from the overkill transport hub to the Australian football areas.
Hi Biffa, I think you didn't add a stop to the stadium monorail station, so it's not in use at present
dont forget the monrail stops ! :P
Love watching you build, it really inspires me to go the extra step for beautifying.
Biffa forgot about adding in a metro to the Aussy Community Football Fields 😅
You got a lot of builds . When you zoom all the way out, I wish consoles did that and showed all of your communities .
Your better off putting a multi-storey carpark by the mall and use the car park space for a attraction and park you often find in big malls
Hello Biffa! Not sure if you added a small road connection around the back or not but it looks like the Monorail station at the box field doesnt have a road connection to it!
Looks great, thanks!
Nice red bushes.
Thanks 👍
This was a fun build, really gives a reason for all the transit in the area! Great video as always
Great build! Nice area to do all your shopping and across the way some sports to enjoy! Lovely 🤩
The build was amazing, but one thing about the mega-mall is that if you wanted it to be realistic, it would be surrounded by nothing but parking right up to the building. Imagine you are walking out with 5 or 6 big bags of clothes and what-not: would you want to walk alllllll the way over to the big parking lot that you made way over on the other side of the supermarkets? Probably not. I realize that you did make those to cover parking for the whole area, but I think it is placed too far away to be practical for the mall and is instead mainly for the supermarkets only, so now the mall itself is kind of stranded out there with no convenient place to park.
Just a suggestion, but I would maybe flip the orientation of the parking area and supermarkets and put the markets on the far side and fill the entire space between them and the mall with nothing but big parking lot. Even taking it under the train overpass.
Greetings! I like the build, and I was surprised you chose to simply install a monorail stop instead of a monorail-metro hub by the stadium. Perhaps there is not such thing?
These malls have front and secondary openings for all the parking they are surrounded by. All for the shoppers.
you need to add a monorail stop at the new stadium. Also a metro stop over at the soccer field.
Lol Biffa is so good at managing traffic he glitched the game.
Malls here in the US typically have a road all the way around them with parking lots between the road and the mall. I've never seen a mall with offsite parking.
Maybe, but this isn't a US themed city, and other countries in the world *do* have malls with off-site parking. Here in New Zealand, for example. :)
@@TheOriginalBadger And that baffles me. Why should someone driving to the mall have to park a kilometer away and take a second form of transportation at cost to get to the mall?
@@spartanlibertarian520 Well, when I say "off-site" I don't mean a kilometer away. More like across the road, or there is a parking lot that serves 4 or 5 surrounding buildings. But yeah, we do also have the shopping centers with on-site parking. My comment was merely to indicate that not everywhere does it like the US does.
Biffa need some foot paths over the river
I’m liking the build, but the lack of parking directly at the biggest mall in New Tealand is going to drive your cims nuts. Just imagine Hugo taking the family out for a nice day of shopping, they buy as much as they can possibly carry, and then have to walk a few kilometres to the parking lot…. Yeah, I wouldn’t do that, most folks wouldn’t either. The tenants of the mall would be screaming at the landlord for parking right outside the doors to encourage Hugo and fam to buy as much as possible!
Dear Biffa, the monorail station doesn't need to be connected to road to help pedestrians get out of the station?
When you do timelapse view can you also do a night version too? it will look great to see how the place look at night
Hey Biffa I am a newer subscriber and I love your patient and deliberate way of designing your cities. I want to ask a question that Biffa or someone else might be able to answer. I have almost 600 hours in CS and I still am learning more tips and shortcuts by watching people like you play this game. I usually force my road connections and rely on imperfection made road and transit connections. I did not realize that you can adjust the angles by moving the nodes. What mod is that? I have seen you do that with roads and train tracks and it makes the build so much more smoother and connected. Love your channel!
Thankyou for the feedback 👍😁 It's the move it mod 👍
@@BiffaPlaysCitiesSkylines awesome, thanks so much. New Tealand is looking so realistic. Have fun.
For Australian football stadiums look up the Optus stadium in Perth City. Beautiful stadium asset
Needs both a cricket and a rugby pitch!
YOU CALLED IT SOCCER!!!😯😫
Well how about insted to have monorail next to stadium and far from its parking and quite far from the big mall, why not to continue throuhg the street it was before, create monorail stop in front of shopping mall or stadium (or somewhere between), then continue over roundabout with next stop on main road in front of those 3 footbal fields and maybe continue throuh the next area already build, whatever it is? BTW you created monorail stop and no monorail route.
And in the place this monorail stop is now create some small custom park near the river. Maybe also bridge for people and bikes over river to this park.
At the start of the video, already know it's going to be great, but you need to place a Cricket pitch, New Zealand are quite good at that and New Zealanders quite like it you know.
Also, why didn't you use the monorail without road next to the timer statium, could just place it alongside the main road?
Wouldn't you need parking around the mall and instead of grocery stores Wouldn't restaurants and bars be a better fit around the mall and stadium?
I was thinking running the highway underground then placing the mall right off the metro station would be better placement
would love to see you build a futuristic city using procedural objects like askuras!
Thanks for the entertainment :)
i think it is time to ad some more sky scrapers to the skyline on the otherside of the river you where working at in this video
Australia and New Zealand are very different
This. Most definitely this! 😀
Love the return to New Tealand... On the subject of mods, is there a way that one of the new stadiums could be changed from football to rugby with mods?
Not that I've seen 👍
Great vid I just love new tealand
What happened to the proposed Metro line from the Hub to the Aussie Football stadiums?
Fun fact: the red cross logo on that hospital breaks the Geneva Convention
You could add some form of building as a club house/changing room the Aussie rules pitch area
