  • In this video, you will learn how to calculate the project variance and standard deviation .
PERT is used for R&D and Defence , where estimation becomes a challenge.
The following steps are followed :
    1. Calculate the Time Estimate
    2.Draw the project network
    3. Identify the critical path
    4. calculate the variance and Standard deviation of the critical activities
    5. Calculate the probability of completing the completing the project for the estimated time.

    Hi everyone.
To find the variance , Please use the formula (tp-to)/6)^2.
The chapters are added here :
    0:00 - Intro
    1:47 - Time estimate
    8:11 - Network diagram
    13:16 -critical path
    20:04 -Standard deviation
20:40 - Variance of the critical path
22:25 - Probability of completing the project.

Madam, why we are not calculating standard deviation of the critical path by adding the SD value of each critical activity?

Really very well explained ma'am, thanks a lot. A learner like me is understandable easily. Because I am not a student of math's 12th Bio and graduated within the BA stream and working for the last 13 years in IT (as a UI/UX Designer) even then I am getting 98% of your teaching. I am pursuing MBA from Jaipur Manipal online.

Yeah, the video skips there. I figured out the variance is the standard deviation squared. The delay probability is 100% - 78.23%.
