@@vanessalaplaige8806 I’ve been playing Monster Hunter since Freedom Unite, and I can understand why people like Rise as well as those who shit on it.
Game’s incomplete, but that’s nothing new since the game industry as a whole took a hit from the pandemic. Yeah it’s not like what us boomer hunters are used to, but that’s simply to grab the attention of a larger audience who know of the game and never played it.
However, the old Gen music slaps harder than the newer soundtracks so much that it’s night and day.

Of all themes, I always like the "Proof of a Hero" version for each game. It seems to pump me up even higher every time.

So for my freshman year of marching band our big show's been cancelled due to the virus, so the directors put together a smaller one for a smaller event and let us submit pieces to vote on to finish off the show. I chose this. It won by almost a landslide, even though my competition was also amazing. I have never been so happy in my life. I will be playing Proof of a Hero in public with the boys. When the show is done, I will return to tell you how it went, maybe post an audio file if I'm allowed to.

Hearing this start playing is the Monster Hunter equivalent of hearing the anime main theme play during a fight. It just pumps you up so much that you're legitimately able to play better.
This franchise is absolutely phenomenal.
There is no song in this world that fills a hunter with more dedication than this piece right here. Remember, hunters: a hunt is not over until it is over!

Ok, so I was playing DnD tonight, and I had a ranger loosely based off a Hunter. I got one-shot by a monster- but then I rolled a Nat 20 on my Death Saving Throw and got right back up. You better believe that this started playing in my mind as we kept fighting.
You got double carted in that game and RNGesus said "I didn't hear no bell, get back up"

It’s probably my Bias but Ahtal Ka became my favorite monster of all.
She’s so fun to fight and then 4th Phase starts and this hits?
There’s no better feeling.
I always fall in love with GU proof of hero since MHGU intro, but ahtal ka final phase just makes it skyrocket to become the best proof of hero in the entire series
If I could go back in time and experience one battle again for the first time, it would be Ahtal-Ka. I was even late when playing MHXX so I already saw the fight in a gameplay video but experiencing it on my own was still amazing.
Ahtal-Ka is probably my favorite final boss fight ever. It’s just such a perfect distillation of exactly what makes MH cool: Well-thought-out fantasy biology, ingenuity, sick weapons, swashbuckling badassery, sheer over the top ridiculousness. And an unconventional choice of monster that’s pulled off incredibly well.
The buildup that starts at 3:33 is good, but the payoff at 4:05 is just fantastic. Musical elation mingled with intense nostalgia that brings a tear to my eye.

@@Irn0x I feel Ahtal Ka would be a Rampage exclusive. She wouldnt't even be an Apex, she just rolls up as herself. Do enough damage to her and she creates the Nesto from your own defenses. And of course, her final weapon is still the water wheel.
Or, if we destroy the Nesto in the Rampage, we fight her in a normal map with other monsters. She can grab things to use as weapons (sort of like Banbaro) but if you try to bring another monster to the fight, she will wyvernride it against you. Imagine her hopping on the back of a Magnamalo to try and take you down.
You don’t need a meal, or mega demondrugs and armorskins, when you’ve got this.

I went from small game hunts like yian kut ku and maccao too repelling mountain sized dragons, slaying hungry hungry pickles, and an elder dragon running on nothing but gfuel! Man what a journey it has been….

Just finished my final HR Quest in Rise before Sunbreak, and the climax hit JUST as the climax hit. I think I just went through an anime flashback from my days in Freedom 2, 3 Ultimate, 4 Ultimate, Generations, World and GU.

Monster Hunter Rise
You know, when i First played MHGU and got to Athal Ka it was super difficult.
My First 2 attempts didnt even reach the Last Phase.
On the third attempt, we finally got to the Last Phase and Proof of a Hero Started. And i was Like "Oh yeah this is it. The Challenge is over. Its about to die"
Little did we know that the Attack when it Spins one of the Things around would cart 3 of us

Final phase started and proof of the hero with it..., all four of us rushed togheter to bring it down..., Ahtal ka stamped that wheel over all 4 of us killing us at the same time...
Chances are one of the earliest monsters you'll fight that actually attacks you is a Neopteron. And now it's a Neopteron that heralds the end of your journey, bringing you back to where you began. And what does Ahtal-Ka use when it's on its last legs? A WHEEL.
