Great Rivalry, Edge and John Cena carried the WWE from 2006 to 2009, which is a weird 4-year period/stretch. John Cena is one of my favorite WWE Superstars in the world, and one of my heroes. Edge, on the other hand, he is my #1 supervillain and one of my most hated WWE superstars in the world, he's the Frieza and Plankton of the WWE. This is my "Superman vs. Lex Luthor" of wrestling. This rivalry started at New Year's Revolution 2006 after John Cena won the elimination chamber match and retain his WWE title, and outcomes Mr. McMahon congratulating Cena and he's not out here to congratulate John Cena because there's one more match, and Edge is cashing in the Money In The Bank on a beaten and battered John Cena, and Cena looked like he's about to die with blood flowing like niagara falls, that piece of s**t picks the bones to steal the WWE championship from John Cena. That's Cena's belt, i was upset, miserable, and frustrated when Edge took the championship at NYR '06. At Royal Rumble, it became a twist, Edge becomes a short-term champion by dropping the championship back to John Cena. The Early Edge vs Cena matches kicks off the rivalry of the century, including on RAW, also, 2 men competed in triple threat matches for world championships to keep this rivalry going. Edge making this rivalry with John Cena personal, especially slapping his dad in his house. He even customized his own WWE championship after defeated John Cena at SummerSlam. Their match in a tables, ladders and chairs match for the WWE Championship in Edge's hometown of Toronto, Ontario, Canada was one of the best matches of their rivalry. John Cena closes this rivalry with Edge in a steel cage match. Outside of their rivalry, John Cena would carry the WWE Championship for 380 days on RAW, and Edge would trade to SmackDown and rule SD as World Heavyweight champion or not, having feuds with Batista and The Undertaker and ends up having a relationship with Vickie Guerrero. 2 years later, at No Way Out 2009, Edge outta nowhere attacks Kofi Kingston and destroys him and took his place to win the elimination chamber match to capture his 8th world heavyweight championship and continues the rivalry with John Cena. It's back to back years disappointments and fumbles, just the previous video, now two of the greatest rivalries in WWE history, did not end up having a one on-one WrestleMania match, and why the f**k would you add Big Show to a world title match into a triple threat match at WrestleMania 25?! No worries, when John Cena lifts up Big Show and Edge on his shoulders for the attitude adjustment and Edge slips out, it was one of the most craziest and shocking moments of my life and WrestleMania history. Edge closes this rivalry in their 2nd best match of the rivalry at Backlash in a last man standing match for the World Heavyweight Championship against John Cena to capture his 9th world championship and again Big Show ruining everything.
