    The rule is explained on a 2nd edition style battle map called the Battle-O-Tron.

    Thanks for concise explanation. My mates and I were having a collective aneurysm over the wording of Big Guns Never Tire, attempting to figure out whether or not my Tyrannofex could fire its Rupture Cannon into a squad of Lokhust Heavy Destroyers while engaged with Squighog Boyz. Ultimately decided "yes" without fully understanding the rule's intent; seems we were right.

    GW needs to faq this one because the next line say the weapons can target units they're engaged with. You should refer people to the rules commentary. Big guns never tire should have gotten its own page

    Dumb Question, can the tank if out of engagement range shoot at an enemy unit that is in engagement range of a friendly unit?

    • @ChristianVonCarmian40kVtuber
      @ChristianVonCarmian40kVtuber  Год назад +3

      not a dumb question, a reasonable one given the nature of this rule. No, it can't shoot into other unit's combats, that core rule remains.

    Great video. Apprecaite the break down. However I have a question, and was curious if you could clarify a situation that occurred with a game of Orks vs Necrons.
    My Ork Nobz are in close combat with the Necron Annihilation Barge. On Necrons shooting phase, he uses his Triarch Stalker and Ghost Arc to shoot at my Nobz who were 24" away. Those Necron vehicles were also tied up in close combat with Ghaz and some Boyz.
    Should he have been allowed to shoot at that unit locked in close combat of his friendly Barge? Just seemed super OP and I questioned it but he said that's how Big Guns Never Tire works. I had thought they could only shoot the enemies within "Engagement Range" they're in or other units of mine, not tied in combat with his.

    • @ChristianVonCarmian40kVtuber
      @ChristianVonCarmian40kVtuber  Год назад +2

      He should not have been allowed to shoot at that unit. There shouldn't be tanks shooting into combats where other units are in CC.
      The big guns lets them shoot the unit they are in combat with, or an unengaged enemy.
      The only way they could shoot something in combat is the Nobz were instead an ork vehicle
      Best wishes for your future games

    But what if situation.
    My beserkers are locked in combat with space marine terminators.
    Can a monster or vehicle shoot at them even while that monster or vehicle is out of combat and those beserkers and terminators are in combat?

    • @ChristianVonCarmian40kVtuber
      @ChristianVonCarmian40kVtuber  7 месяцев назад +2

      No. They cannot shoot at a unit in combat. Base rules.
      The only exception would be if your berzerkers were in combat with a dreadnought, then your own monster/vehicle could shoot the dreadnought

    What about titanic units? It seems unfair my abbadon is in melee and cannot shoot into the titan. But the titan CAN shoot into him AND do melee after that!!!!

    • @ChristianVonCarmian40kVtuber
      @ChristianVonCarmian40kVtuber  6 месяцев назад +2

      there are no extra rules for titanic units, just the same BGNT rule as other vehicles/monsters.
      I do think it is odd.

    Legit lost because someone lied to me on how this rule worked (basically said the guardians can still shoot the Terminators)

    • @ChristianVonCarmian40kVtuber
      @ChristianVonCarmian40kVtuber  4 месяца назад

      😞 that sucks.
      Logically and in real battles that has been how it works

    Hey, if the Cultists up top are in Engagement Range with a different Vehicle/Monster, can the Vehicle in the middle of the image still shoot at them?

    • @ChristianVonCarmian40kVtuber
      @ChristianVonCarmian40kVtuber  11 месяцев назад

      No. The Fire Prism in the middle can't shoot other enemy units in engagement range that are not within engagement range of itself.
      It is the same reason that the guardians cannot shoot at the terminators, there is no exception to be basic rules for that.
      However, if the guardians were in engagement range of a chaos vehicle like a Helbrute, the Fire Prism could shoot at the Helbrute because the Fire Prism is allowed to shoot and you can target enemy vehicles and monsters in engagement range of friends.
      That is probably more information that you needed, but I hope I helped.
