For almost 40 years, I thought George McFly was a character played by Crispin Glover. Now I realize Crispin Glover is a character played by George McFly.
Ha ha😂
I've never seen Crispin Glover other than as George McFly. Very high energy. He kind of reminds me of Ed Grimley!
@@hollywoodharriet13he was a fun and interesting villain in Charlie’s angels. And even though I never saw it my friends always raved about the movie Willard starring Mr. Glover.
He is amazing in whatever he is in. I love the depth he adds to the 1 armed bellhop in Hot tub time machine@@michaeldorsey1394
Note how masterfully and kindly Johnny handled this unpredictable interview, always remaining in compelte control. I think that Fred and others thought that Jonny might have an opportunity to get some laughs over the volcano, but given the guest's sincere demeanor, Johnny chose to play it straight and praise and thank him. Wow, what a pro! Incomparable!
Agree, absolutely. I was struck by Johnny's genuine respect.
Yep, a classic. I really miss this. The new stuff just doesn't hit for me quite the same.
The difference from letterman is that JC showed real interest in the person, not the spectacle.
That's cool that you noticed that I was thinking the same thing that's why Johnny Carson was the best
Carson handled this way better than Letterman did.
it’s great to see Carson accepting him rather than challenging him. i love letterman but that whole fiasco always disturbed me. Carson recognized his talent and was a legend to nurture it and promote it.
My gosh… He IS George McFly!
River's Edge is truly a fantastic film, a dark satire about the dissolution of the American family and loyalty among friends. Crispin Glover is one of the primary reasons for the brilliance of River's Edge.
Pretty endlessly quotable too because of his character in the movie. Dennis Hopper was brilliant too
@@Dmnthygtshlds2 "CHECK'S IN THE MAIL!"
How is it we don't have a Nic Cage/Crispin Glover collaboration yet?
He was one eccentric fellow back in the day and yes definitely high energy
I think Johnny was very familiar with his energy source. Thats why you frequently see him wiping his nose when the first cut to him after commercial.
the chach@@eddieschmidt8655
@@eddieschmidt8655
actually Crispin was trippin on LSD
He’s still eccentric
Johnny was so kind to a nervous and hyper kid.
Carson - the master. That was impressive.
According to Wikipedia on Crispin Glover's school, "Mirman is one of a handful of schools for the highly gifted (IQ of 138 or above) in the United States."
For geniuses, wow!
Sounds like a community school.. and precociousness can be confused with giftedness.
The reasons not to give IQ tests to young children are compelling.
Mensa allows youth fourteen and over to take the Mensa Admissions Test, and it accepts testing done outside of Mensa by schools or psychologists, but it does not test young children.
You are bang ON Buddy!! But by early 2000s it doesn't carry that aura...
So Johnny was right. he could have been a geologist or something like that but hollywood got there hands on him first. wow!
Crispin is a lovely guy and a genius.
Interesting that he talked about a book to capture rats, and years later did a movie about rats, called Willard.
Yes, it was a remake of the first movie.
Couldn’t imagine BTF without Crispin Glover. I thought he was great. Definitely needed a chill pill doing Carson, but still a very unique and talented actor
He was only in the first one, so you have part 2&3 without him
Wow looks just like his father. Father played Mr Wint James Bond Diamonds Are Forever and for a long time I had no Idea that Mr Wint and Mr Kidd were lovers in the Movie.
And until this interview, I had no idea that was Crispin’s dad!
One of the many things that separated Johnny from others was his lexicon and verbatim, on stage he intuitively knew what worked and what didn’t, and he was a master and class act.
After Carson in my opinion Craig Ferguson and his humor and elegance was pretty good too.
What we currently have on late night tv today is le cream of le crap.
Edit: Mr Glover is an underrated actor, he is fun to watch.
Le cream of le crap….very good
Craig was amazing, his humor and wit went over so many peoples heads.
What about Steve Allen?
@@user-er3ri6sc3jshe means now. Everybody over acts, And it all looks like total chaos whenever I see people being interviewed today. Stephen Colbert is pretty good
@@KH-3414 It's mostly because these late night host are primarily comedians.
Crispin deverved a bigger pay check for bttf1 cause he really nailed it
OmG that's me I'm nuts. Damnit😢😢😢❤❤❤made me cry ..THATS ME
Marty, what did your mother ever see in that kid?
Holy cow 😳!
He's gifted!
He's a present? Wink wink.
Its also called on the spectrum
The way he speaks with his hands, is almost if hes some kind of Proto RUclips Star.
Are youtubers known for waving their hands around a lot?
@@deandeck That's the 2nd thing they are known for.
The 1st is being overtly dramatic over things that don't matter.
The movie he talks about, "River's Edge", also stars Keanu Reeves in one of his earliest films. I haven't seen it yet, but it's gotten a solid 6.9 rating at IMDB.
He was so nervous but great guy
He wasn't nervous.. Lol He's acting like this intentionally. Watch his David Lettermam interviews...... He knew what he was doing. Lol
He is so cute omg
I always thought he was super handsome.
Yes and he is extremely sweet 🥺 and charismatic !!🥰😍😊☺️😌😇❤️
He's wrapped a little tight.
At least Jonny didn't get kicked 😂
dudes a major talent
“River’s Edge” was a very good movie.
That’s the real him. Scorsese had a lot of nervous energy like that.
He's sued back to the future 2 and 3 .he won the lawsuit and mjfox never spoke to him again.
5:19 this is so amazing, I didn't realize Marty's dad was a real dude
Would have been a great joker
his father Bruce is pretty cool. he played the Deputy in Walking Tall films.
just finished film with Crispin in film about the Donner Party.
Is that natural, or the meds?
It's good to see Crispin Glover not challenging Mr. Carson to a fight, like he did with Letterman
let’s not… go down that road
I’m old enough to remember when the movie was released. No one had any idea who Crispin and were quite shocked by his real life persona. I always felt badly for people trying to interview him. Very awkward.
His middle name is "Hellion". lol
I'll have what he's having 😏
Anxiety??
I like Crispin and his dad. Very strange though.
hard to believe his dad is still alive
This looks like the 70s damn nothing changed much in this set
This kid is an odd duck
Everyone is beautiful. 🌌🌠
Crisip Glover is George Mcfly, or is George Mcfly Crispin Glover?🤔🤨
❤❤❤yes😅
So that's where his company name Volcanic Eruptions comes from!
He’s nuts.
at least he didn't have to catch a cab like his Letterman visit!
✌️🐝➕
Terrific in BTFuture 😅
why do audiences nervously laugh at everything. the audience is actually more jittery than crispin....
Because they are nervous when encountering something which seems to them to be awkward. His weird demeanor causes those around him to be jittery.
He looks like paula pounstone
Interesting to see the current crop of late night hosts come back after 5 months off and just absolutely suck. They are like lemmings telling the same tired political jokes. Carson was the gold standard. Late night has collapsed upon itself like a dying star.
I truly agree ! 👍
Yes they suck. Colbert is the CBS pinboy. Fallon is mentally"Special" and the other guy has never been funny.
boy he could almost pass for a version of Woody Harrelson here
Dang thatsme..yes
That volcano gift was just weird. No deep comedic genius move there.
It's truly the thought that counts.💞
Lovely, actually. 💕
Hearing him mention his dad shows me this is the real Crispin. The one who tried to kick David Letterman in the head would deny his father still actually exists on Earth. My Conclusion: Crispin wanted to do something like Andy Kaufman did on Letterman a few years earlier, his appearance was probably planned like Andy did, and Letterman loved it. So I believe their whole beef was manufactured and Dave continues to honor their pact. He kept the secret about Kaufman's appearances being staged for almost 2 decades after Andy's death.
Thats one weird dude😮
He looks absolutely classic 😍😉😊☺️ if you ignore his dumb hairstyle !!😅
Everyone who mentions drugs here can't imagine what it's like to be anything other than mediocre.
Definitely on the spectrum...but kudos to his success
Bruce eruh Mr. Wint, can you get Crispin underhand cause I'm about to knock his block off!...
Hey uh you're Sean Connery, James Bond ha ha Do you expect me to talk Mr. Bond... Hey Sean you like the Beatles? I want to hold your hand... My Dad is holding Mr. Kidd's hand... It's a grunge thing welcome to The Rock...
And he's dated a handful of hot models
I like Crispin Glover, I think he's a talented actor, I don't like the insults made about him on here, but this is honestly a bit too hyper for me to watch all the way through.
He’s not an actor, just a weirdo that plays himself.
😂😂😂
He always makes me think of George Bush (Sr.).
Crispin must be so embarrassed by this performance.
Probably not. Better than your spot on Carson…. oh, wait.
Do you think he is proud of this performance knowing what we know about him?@@CreachterZ
@@mexicanspec Uh. I feel like I missed something important. What did he do? I’m pleading ignorance.
There was this whole thing about not being in the 3rd part of the movie because of differences. This guy doesn't seem to be OK with making a fool of himself like he did here. he was very young and not worn out on Hollywood yet. It was just an observation considering the personality he has.@@CreachterZ
@@mexicanspec Ah. So he just decided not to be in a movie. Ok. He’s a heathen!
He had to be on something.
Nope. Just himself. Lol. Always been weird cool.
It could just be nervous energy. I don’t think it was much of a stretch for him to play the McFly character. lol
@@joebiggs4387 I think he hit the expresso machine 3 times before appearing
Glover is a very smart bloke - plays situations
Life. 😂 He seems the sort of person where gifted equals extreme quirkiness.
Too many drugs?
Nice shoes? He's FUBAR.
IT WASN'T JUST REGULAR ENERGY.. CRISPIN WAS TRIPPIN' BALLS ON LSD.. LOL
He didn’t like the ending of Back to the future because it was “too capitalistic.” But he ask for more money for his part. He wasn’t asked back. Socialist are hilarious!! They don’t like your money, but they really like their money!! 🤪🤪🤪
Deplorables see no boundaries on capitalism as valid.
@@kindablue1959And who are you to place boundaries on anyone?
@@bagheerab278 Crispin sued the BTTF studio for misuse of his image and won a buttload of money, so the law set those boundaries.
@@kindablue1959 I guess you are in a different conversation.
Your understanding of socialism is piss poor, DashPar. Crispin is a pretty bright guy, meanwhile you're posting self-owns on RUclips.
Why would you name you son Crispin? Can you imagine going through High School with that name, that would be terrible.
Never be ashamed of the name you were given. I think Crispen is a cool name
He ay be considered a good actor but hes a freak.
Crispin is a weirdo.
Cocaine is a hell of a drug
He chose to be weird. So it is not cool or genuine.
