I downloaded it from MP3 Skull years ago in highschool cause I was going through an old school rap phase trying to educate myself and was binging Nas tracks
The original was incorrectly labeled as part of his pre Illmatic demo but it’s really after Illmatic. In the original he raps “Peace to my seed n thanks for her birth, Destiny that’s her name”. His daughter Destiny was born summer of 94, months after Illmatic dropped in April of that year. And frankly his flow here was more nimble than on Illmatic. He sounds more experienced, more like how he ended up sounding on It Was Written.
Nas just freestyled the last part, and it feels like he just wanted to tell the world not to sleep on Cordae and Gibbs. This is a big cosign from Nas, plus mad respect for him working with Gibbs especially after they went head to head at the Grammy's. Life is like a Dice Game.
