I use to watch PM MAGAZINE ON WSAZ NEWS CHANNEL 3 our Local TV Station drama Huntington and Charleston Wesr Virginia with Bill Murray and I forgot what the lady’s name was! But I was little and in elementary school and it came one at 7pm Monday-Friday and I LOVED! This NEEDS to make a come back! I miss it!
Great program and every market that aired Evening/PM Magazine had their own hosts that shot on location, that's what made this franchise truly unique. The hosts made the show more interesting delivering a local flair. However, as syndicated programming like Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, Entertainment Tonight, etc. became increasingly popular, stations began bailing on PM Magazine because it was expensive to produce. Group W (Westinghouse Broadcasting) made a corporate decision to cancel the entire franchise in the early 90's and PM/Evening Magazine was no more. I often wondered why Group W didn't continue on with Evening Magazine on their own stations because the show was still popular in many of those markets when it was canceled. Miss this show!
I used to watch this back in the day on Channel 8 ABC (WXEX-TV, Central Virginia) They came out to my town to do a feature for Halloween. They went to Haw Branch Plantation in Amelia County, Virginia.
1:00 - This portion was the "PM Magazine" closing theme. I would like to have seen this video end with animated footage of the van driving off and the tag "Have a nice evening."
AMAZING!! Any idea how to locate past episodes in digital format? I appeared briefly on this show as a young lad playing tennis in CT. Wanted to find it
PM/Evening Magazine was produced by a variety of stations across the U.S. I recommend contacting WFSB (the Hartford/New Haven affiliate) to see if they still have tapes of their shows.
Now, There’s a show that needs to make a comeback, and This one’s long overdue, IMO.
I remember this show in the early 1980s on channel 2 in Nashville. The days before my parents got cable TV
It’s cheaper to fill 7pm hour with reruns
I wouldn't say that, @@electrictroy2010. There has been "Wheel", "ET", "Jeopardy!", "TMZ", and in some areas, local news.
The actual news is basically PM Magazine now. So much soft unimportant news and people’s photos and videos shared on social media.
This is the show that I know in love. Group W's PM Magazine.
miss those days
Me too
I appeared on this show when I was in the third grade, Wow, long time ago now
