Pro Street is still unbeaten when it comes to atmosphere. Having gone to hundreds of car meets and race days, the atmosphere in Pro Street just nails it. Forza Horizon 1 came close as well though that was more a festival than a car meet or race day.
I kinda wish we get a Prostreet Sequal (Maybe unbound will be Prostreet) , perfect for Today's Car Culture as well , but Forza Horizon will do i guess
It would be cool if thet made pro Street a game mode, where it is the official track day to compliment the street racing in NFS.
@@JasonA1124 lol horizon 3,4,5 was so booooring. Worst progression ive ever seen in a cargame but sure the rocks and trees are well modelled.

I actually liked camera shake in pro street, it was one of the few games that it actually felt dangerous to drive at fast speeds.
I am afraid, if I ever visit Nevada, and go drive some of such roads as in game, I would feel uncomfortable, if things I see won't shake.
That's true. I even slowed my car down just to survive some section, it's crazy that I can totaled my car on the same section at speed race
Thanks to that camera shake PS is the only NFS title that I have played through the entire game with bonnet camera (and one of my all time favorite NFS)
As much as people hate Shift, it nailed that feeling too; It was sort of its gimmick, after all, the horror of going that fast.
Try NFS Shift also... that one had me sweatin' the first time I played it. LMBO
The major camera shake made the sprint runs feel properly dangerous, even if it gets absurd at times it really adds to the thrill of the race
Going at top speed in pro street and Shift 1,2 is crazy. The sense of speed and the camera shakes are insane in those games
The visual design in the menu and tracks were like no other. It was one of the first games where tracks really had interesting scenery, especially for the real world ones.
I’m still baffled at how ProStreet might still have some of the best tire smoke I’ve seen in a game , aside from Mafia 2. That game had smoke that trailed on your car and character If you went through it. So still dk how they managed that
I think Mafia 2’s smoke(and fog in one of the Batman Arkham games) was powered by Nvidia PhysX which never really got adopted that well

in the PS2 version of this game, there's a bug that when any car pulls over at 403km/h, it just doesn't turn anywhere, it literally turns into a train

I remember when I installed prostreet this summer and the "patched" frame rate and continue bug were killing my experience till I went searching and found the generic patch, god Prostreet became so much better

I clearly set the assist mode in vlted to lvl 0 for drifting just to feel the snappy between transition and make the car not continue to drift on track by holding the ebrake

The camera shake might have been overdone but I think it still looks better with it than without any camera shake at all, because now it looks boring and safe. I don't know if that's an option but maybe just turning the shake down a little bit would've been enough.

There seemed to be a game breaking glitch on the PS2 version that would freeze the game forever at a certain spot. IIRC it was a random race while moving towards the 1v1 against Monroe. Absolutely drove me mad as a kid. The PS3 version seemed absolutely fine in my experience.
Realistic crashes ARE actually a cool feature for a racing game, I remember when TOCA had the car destruction and camera slowdown with multiple angles, with a friend we used to run the same circuit that had like a ramp cliff for the sole purpose of creating dramatic crashes :P
If a random car racind dev is here, here this video out there's a lot of cool tips to keep in mind.
I've always figured that ProStreet and Undercover share similar handling and graphics. Perhaps this means that an Undercover remaster is possible? Tri-City is a big map and I for sure would want it to be remastered.

How do you install the HD HUD mod? I followed the steps and it leads me to a font which I must choose to install it in Binary, font mod which I don't know where to get it from.
