  • In this video I will lead you through a guided meditation on the practice of Calm Abiding meditation. In this practice we use our body as our object of meditation. We shouldn't be in a rush to meditate on our breath. Instead, meditating on our bodies can help us gain more stability before we move onto meditating on our breath.

You’re most welcome. It’s actually the same species of tree that the Buddha was enlightened under, so these trees are often called Bodhi trees, meaning ‘tree of enlightenment’. The real tree the Buddha was enlightened under is only about 1 km from where I filmed this. :)

Mindah-Lee Kumar (The Enthusiastic Buddhist) you should film yourself meditating under it!

Thank you so much. I agree that schools really need to teach meditation and how to deal with negative emotions. It would go a long way to creating a better, more peaceful society. :)

I am watching your calm and loveful videos.
I hope they will make these lessons also in public schools instead of trigonometry, organic chemistry , etc. which I learned and not used in my life any time.

I love the tree! yes indeed, i can see the Buddah sitting under the tree for hours and days, no water or drink no company of any kind except for serenity and equanimity of mind. and as he sits he gazes with a kind grin and dwells in all 8 jhanas, expereincing them one by one, releasing one to move to another and weeding ot the coarser elements and reaching pure ecstacy as the Inian sun sets behind him over Bodgaya. :)

Hello, please forgive if this is not a good question: As long as one is able to concentrate on one thing at a time..narowing down all the chaotic disconnected thoughts down to one, benign neutral thought, or one positive thought, but for as long as possible, the better, right? And, if you get lost, you have the symbols of our posture to remind you. It does not really matter what you concentrate on, the goal is the quality of the concentration act itself, the ability to focus on just one thing at a time........ for long periods of time....and the duration that you are able to focus on one thing, this will bring positive results? Am I anywhere close to being correct? Thank you for your time.
