- In this video I will lead you through a guided meditation on the practice of Calm Abiding meditation. In this practice we use our body as our object of meditation. We shouldn't be in a rush to meditate on our breath. Instead, meditating on our bodies can help us gain more stability before we move onto meditating on our breath.

You’re most welcome. It’s actually the same species of tree that the Buddha was enlightened under, so these trees are often called Bodhi trees, meaning ‘tree of enlightenment’. The real tree the Buddha was enlightened under is only about 1 km from where I filmed this. :)
Mindah-Lee Kumar (The Enthusiastic Buddhist) you should film yourself meditating under it!
Thank you so much. I agree that schools really need to teach meditation and how to deal with negative emotions. It would go a long way to creating a better, more peaceful society. :)
Thanks Mindah this really is calming.
For a week I started my mornings with this (body) and next (breathing) videos. So far I love it.
T hank you. You're are a gift from the HEAVENS.
I am so grateful to have found your channel. Your teaching is easy to follow and inspiring. I've been practicing for some years now, and yet I can still get lazy and distracted. Your videos help me keep up.
Your voice is incredibly soothing. Thank you for this!
You are wonderful keep spreading the dhamma thankyou.
Thank you so much for making practical guides for beginners :)).
mindah thanks very much for the vid.Sitting in busy Sydney I found concentrating on the moving leaves behind you and hearing the birds calmed me more than the body scan
I am so happy I have discovered your webpage and videos. This is wonderful as I am fairly recently found myself interested in Buddhism and meditation.
I am watching your calm and loveful videos.
I hope they will make these lessons also in public schools instead of trigonometry, organic chemistry , etc. which I learned and not used in my life any time.
Dear Mindah-Lee Kumar. Sabbadanam dhammadanam jinati!
Tears were flowing down my face during this meditation.
This is good. It helped reduce pain.
Thank you.
Blessing you
Thank you for the complacency Mindah.
I love the tree! yes indeed, i can see the Buddah sitting under the tree for hours and days, no water or drink no company of any kind except for serenity and equanimity of mind. and as he sits he gazes with a kind grin and dwells in all 8 jhanas, expereincing them one by one, releasing one to move to another and weeding ot the coarser elements and reaching pure ecstacy as the Inian sun sets behind him over Bodgaya. :)
Thanks!
Great work. I recommend you to people I know.
Lovely! A beautiful and poetic image. :)
Thanks Mindah

With keen awareness a bodhi damo penetrates deep into the realm of total emptiness with lights of love and to make Anatta known to Dhamma.
Thank you :)

I need to know posture's clearly in body meditation when it comes to check downsize of the body.
Wonderful
I enjoyed this meditation very much but I have to get used to keeping my eyes half open. and with my mouth curled i can imagine my expression was very silly!
Thank you, i'll drop it. Is it okay to keep my eyes closed instead of half open?
Thanks so much for responding!
It really has :)
Hello, please forgive if this is not a good question: As long as one is able to concentrate on one thing at a time..narowing down all the chaotic disconnected thoughts down to one, benign neutral thought, or one positive thought, but for as long as possible, the better, right? And, if you get lost, you have the symbols of our posture to remind you. It does not really matter what you concentrate on, the goal is the quality of the concentration act itself, the ability to focus on just one thing at a time........ for long periods of time....and the duration that you are able to focus on one thing, this will bring positive results? Am I anywhere close to being correct? Thank you for your time.
thank you.
Is it seen as a bad thing if I relax my back instead of keeping it straight the whole time
