I saved this video a while back and will be using it today. Looks like you are the only one with a video for 2010-13 Soul wheel hub bearing on RUclips that I can find. I will be replacing the backing plates too because there’s nothing left of them. Looks like a fairly straightforward job. Thank you for posting this video.
Thanks! I'm doing this job now, and I'm trying to remove the hub from the backing plate. I wasn't sure if it was the rust holding it on or not. Now I know, and I'll keep hammering away! Thanks again!
I am happy for you that you live in Florida, I don’t have that chance. Concerning the parts, some people are willing to replace all the parts and other ones want the lowest price as possible. Usually during winter the more snow we have the more salt is used to melt the ice and the snow in the street and the vehicles rust faster. To give you an idea of the average quantity of snow accumulation in some cities in one winter, you can consult www.currentresults.com/index.php. I give you some examples in USA: New York= 25 inches, Pittsburgh= 42 inches, Boston= 43 inches, Albany= 59 inches and in Canada: Montreal= 82 inches, Quebec City= 119 inches, Thetford Mines = 143 inches. In one winter, the city of Montreal uses around 130,000 tonnes of road salt and takes around 300,000 truckloads of snow off the streets. Cost +- CDN $165 million a year. Knowing that, you will be more thankful.
Yes, you would have won your bet if I had had a 4 pound hammer with me, but like it was said in the video, it was an emergency and my brother had only a regular hammer and common tools. Have a good day!

What made you decide to change the hub?
First, because my brother knew the problem and he asked me to help him to fix it. Second, for safety, it was better to fix it as soon as possible.
It's not that you were hitting it hard enough it's that your hammer wasn't heavy enough. Bet you with a 4 lbs one it would have came right out.
