As a Canadian (we love ice cream and eat it even at minus 30 degrees outside) and a current Fukuoka resident, I approve of the Daimyo Soft Cream...it's deliciously creamy. Next time you guys come back, let me know...I could possibly show you around on my day off.
Hi. you don't have to worry about it. Just install a translation application on your phone before you leave. That's it. If you are still worried, then you could learn a couple of japanese like 'Hello' or 'Thank you.' People there are so nice and friendly.

Having ice cream in -30 degrees? Wow! It's very impressive. How long have you lived in Fukuoka? I'll tell you when I get there. It'd be fun!
너무 즐거운 여행이었다😊

1) was it cold? 2) do you experience any snowfall there?
1) I think you should bring a padded jacket.
2) I've never experienced snowfall. It's hard to see any in this region in winter.
Suppose january is the coldest in fukuoka is this true
Probably yes, but I'm pretty sure that it wouldn't be as cold as winter in NY!
