I couldn't care less about raytracing, frame generation or any of the other BS that helps hide bad game optimization. I recently played an old windows 2000/XP era game called Star Trek: Starfleet Command III. I hadn't played it in over a decade. But I played it in a VM on a Linux system using much newer hardware and I was blown away. On a 1440p monitor I saw details and colors I had Never seen before. It looked like it was remastered or something. It was awesome and smooth as could be. I'm telling you all, we do NOT need all this modern hardware to have an incredible gaming experience. The nice thing about that old game, it's on CD-Rom, . . I own it, forever, no DRM, no internet connection, no cloud saves. Just a boy and his PC, living in the moment.
It's a real downer, to be honest. If you're into raytracing games, you could likely run Pathtracing on the 4060. It's leaps and bounds ahead when it comes to heavy Raytracing, but it's going to be gasping for VRAM. Particularly with DLSS3 and raytracing, VRAM is going to overflow. On the flip side, the 7600XT comes with 16 GB VRAM, but it only holds its own in "last gen" games without any raytracing.

Its a pretty big difference when a card consumes almost 200W at max usage compared to about 100W. Nvidia also has many features that AMD doesnt or just has better equivalent to whatever AMD has. Nvidia is also basically mandatory if youre doing anything else but gaming. For productivity or AI you need Nvidia.

One of the best things to wake up to after having a dream about an alarm clock, smashing it using a hammer, and waking up to find out what the reason I was having a dream about an alarm clock in the first place was because my alarm clock irl was going off the entire time. Anyways the 7600 XT is the winner in non RT scenarios but both are pretty much trash. Could've been fixed by adjusting prices and lowering the 7600 XT's VRAM amount from 16 - 12 and giving a price of like $249.99 or $279.99 but oh well.

RT can be disabled but what cannot be done is keep VRAM Usage under 8 GB. there is no doubt that the 6800 XT is a weaker product in comparative terms of ray tracing but it more than makes up for it in terms of Raw Raster Performance and 16GB of Vram. I like how the 4060 had more fps in Cyberpunk 2077 1440p, but it also rendered less vehicles and NPCs than the 7600XT.

Anyways the 7600 XT is the winner in non RT scenarios but both are pretty much trash. Could've been fixed by adjusting prices and lowering the 7600 XT's VRAM amount from 16 - 12 and giving a price of like $249.99 or $279.99 but oh well.

A 6800 XT is a bad gpu at $500 but a wonderful GPU at $300. It's around 60% as fast as the RTX 4060.
What is a terrible fucking product is a 2024 gpu priced at $300 with 8 GB of VRAM. RT can be disabled but what cannot be done is keep VRAM Usage under 8 GB.
there is no doubt that the 6800 XT is a weaker product in comparative terms of ray tracing but it more than makes up for it in terms of Raw Raster Performance and 16GB of Vram.
At $300, it is a fucking steal.
