I have been a landlord and a renter. Cameras along with alarms help both. Steve didn't want the cameras there because he couldn't peep or infringe on the rental property. I'm amazed you put up with his actions for so long. Thanks for the info on the cameras.
I can’t get over him following you to your new residence! And people who made hateful comments on the first video… can’t figure out why, Steve came across creepy as heck! And we only seen like 10 minutes of it, can’t imagine all the weird stuff he was doing all the years you were there!
I had a nosy landlord also and it was more than just creepy, it was invasive. He would come in when we were all out and steal dishsoap, laundry pods and the like. We finally caught him in the act with a little mounted hook camera in the pantry and laundry closet. He was fined and had to compensate for what was stolen. We also were given permission to break lease to move and got full security deposit back. Best 10 bucks spent on amazon.
Personally. If i were a landlord, id be put at ease with your cameras. It indicates you care for the safety of the building and my property. Its a good option for both parties. Theyre helpfull in even a cooperative way.
Right! I feel sorry for new owners who don't know the mess they will be dealing with. I hope not, however. What do you want to bet he's acting like he still owns the house and harassing them. I hope the neighbors warn them.
I bet before you put up the cameras. He came in the house!! I had that happen to me, I was in my twenties and rented an apartment. The landlord and wife we very nice. She even helped me move in and get settled. He stayed away I thought. Sometimes when I got home from work . I would find things moved closet door was open at times. I thought I was getting absent minded. I was off work, I had let my sis use my car for the day. I thought I’ll take a nice long bath!! He must’ve thought I was gone!! I thought I heard the front door open thought it was my sis, I got out of the bath. Opened the bathroom door and there he stood !! I screamed bloody murder!! My neighbor heard me screaming and ran into my apartment. He took off running!! My neighbor told me she thought he had been coming in to her apartment too!! We both moved that week. Wish I had cameras back then. This was in the 70’s.
Steve was definitely wrong and there was something wrong with him. He might be losing it as he ages. When Steve started spying with a drone that I'm sure was the final straw. That is very illegal. He thought he could spy on you without leaving his home and you'd not know he was doing it. I'm so glad you moved your family away from him.
🦋I really don't understand why viewers would give you Shite for something that SHOULD be documented AND reported. Kudos to you for getting out of that toxic situation and truly happy that with the help of your employer you were able to get justice and I hope all is well with you and your family. Thank you for sharing and updating your story ❤
I saw your previous video and don't understand why you would get ugly comments. Your landlord was the creep and you did the right thing by filming him, also glad you moved, he was a nutjob.
I don’t understand why anyone would make negative comments to your original video. We owned houses for many years that we rented to university students. We frequently sustained damages- that’s what’s security deposits are for- but we never surveilled our tenants. We also would never have had a problem with a tenant installing security cameras. We would probably have offered to buy them when the tenants left as they would enhance the value of the property. Your landlord was a creep.
Alvaro García, were there any signs when you interviewed them before taking them on as tenants? If I were a landlord I'd (with their permission) check the place once or twice a year, at the very least for any problems with appliances, air conditioning, exterior condition. Easy to notice these tenant problems during that inspection.
Breaking wood only requires a bit of effort, even treated. Maybe the floor was tile? That's easier to crack with a good swing from a hammer. Or that foamy plastic shit, which just crumbles with enough force.
There are way too many ‘keyboard warriors’ who think it’s okay to say a load of rubbish that they would NEVER say to your face. Good luck to you and your family, I hope your new home is working out well for you all 👌🏻
Anyone who thinks that you were wrong is crazy. Renting a property makes it your property (with some exceptions, like no drilling holes, which is reasonable).
If he followed you to your new home and is "running" into your wife and harassing her on the road, that is stalking and attempting to cause harm with a vehicle. Time to get the cops involved and Steved locked up.
Lol people are still sticking up for Steve, he had a chance to tell his side of the story in court and decided not to, then followed them to their new home, doesn't seem very innocent to me
I find amusing that you have received negative response over this ordeal. What Steve did was wrong and creepy; and then he had the nerve to follow you and your family to your new residence. Glad you got an attorney and got things settled.
I agree with Caine Mac, you owe no one an apology. These trolls couldn't care less about you or your family. The way he acted on camera was creepy. That is just obsessive, the constant leaving and returning when you are gone, that guy has a few screws loose.
I'm shocked people were nasty with you guys over this. Your landlord was clearly in the wrong. I'm glad you were able to move. The guy isn't weird, he sounds dangerous. Weird people don't follow others to their new residence....or fly drones into a backyard and look through a window....sociopaths and psychopaths do that. A Weird person will do things like sniff their fingers after scratching their ass or have conversations with themselves in a car.....thats a weird thing to do. Trespassing and voyeurism however, is something a criminal does. And Steves a criminal.
My daughter and her husband rented a house and the landlady lived next door. The crazy started soon thereafter. She let herself into the house one day when my son in law was in the shower. He came out in a towel thinking he had an intruder. She didn't know he was home. She told him she needed something from his attic. Had he not been there they feel she would have snooped. They moved.
Those nasty comments are probably people who don't understand how bad and stressful it can be to not feel safe in your own home. I myself have had a really bad experience with our first landlords. I'm a stay at home wife and they would use their spare key to walk into the apartment without notice to check on it. They claimed that our neighbors said we were having parties, people living there that were not on the lease, dogs, and possibly narcotics (Not all at once). None of that was true. It was just my husband and I. I was good friends with the neighbors and they were shocked and told me what they were doing was illegal. It did not say in our lease that they could come without a 24 hour notice (The state law says they have to) and we were new to living on our own. We didn't know better. We got printed the papers off the gov website and taped it to the door. They never walked in without notice again. We moved as soon as our lease was up. I still get scared every time I hear the door open. At least its just my husband and not some uninvited angry, loud guest.
the father of my former landlord was living nearby. one day he entered my flat with another guy to fix something while i was still asleep in the morning. i've stormed into the living room with a bowie and a small baseball bat because i've thought they were robbing me and i was already swinging the bat to hit the other guy straight on the back of his head when i recognized the landlords father.... never forget his face and the moment i almost smashed a guys head....
I came upon your original video by accident and I couldn't believe it!! If anyone had negative comments for you SHAME ON THEM!! I about lost my mind in seeing only what was in your video. I'm really sorry that happened to you and I'm on your side.
Landlord’s are not legally permitted to come on the property or enter the home without your permission. Once it is rented/leased to you it is considered your property not theirs. People who don’t understand that should brush up on tenant landlord law. Congratulations on your new home. Property management company are much better to work with they generally know the laws.
Voodoo Child ... actually is doesn't depend on the lease. The law states that the landlord or rental property owner must give 24 hour notice before walking onto the property except in case of an emergency. And contracts that are in violation of the law are considered null and void.
Jan Johns right? I don't understand why people think that if it's the landlords house they can do what they want. There are landlord tenant laws for a reason.
Steve is a fucking creepy lunatic and how dare he invade you AND follow you to the next place! SO glad my landlord who is old as hell lives and hour away. He's not a creep, also, thank goodness.
I noticed that nearly all of the negative comments on the first video were by obvious politically driven trolls based on what they said. I have no desire to lessen your new found ease about old Steve but the whole interest in your wife being a stay at home mom, flying a drone in front of your bedroom window and following your family to your new home are NOT the actions of a mentally stable person. Stay vigilant.
I saw your first video and then this one. I can't believe all the bad, negative comments. Some of those people sound just as bad a Steve, the landlord. You did EVERYTHING right!! And the fact that he FOLLOWED you to your new home is just beyond weird!!! That guy has some MAJOR problems!!! Glad you are out and safe!!!
I can’t figure why people would make negative comments toward you. Seems like y’all were simply trying to enjoy your life without being constantly monitored by your landlord. It’s good you moved, though, as that living your life under a microscope is no way to live.
I once had a landlord that insisted on inspections every month when he got paid. I was a single mom and he sexually harassed me and when I had a friend over he would come ask questions.
I managed historically renovated brownstones & a huge stable converted to luxury apts. for a developer in Boston, and been a renter as well. Management companies don't do that, but folks who own the property will. Professionals focus is on valuable tenant fit up toward profit of their investment, whereas homeowners tend to treat tenants as necessary squatters on THEIR property to supplement their personal income. The attitude is shockingly different! What your former landlord did was beyond nosy to being creepy. Most states require 24 to 48 hours notice to come on or enter into a rented property for good reason.
Or you could have a management company who would not reign in the ridiculous owner and we still had the same kinds of issues as if he was just our landlord, coming onto the property whenever he wanted, making "repairs" that were unnecessary, supposedly trimming some hedges (that he had no business doing) but using that as an opportunity to peek into our windows, etc.
@@PrimateProductions In that case, the owner shouldn't bother paying a management company. Most pay them because they don't want to do anything themselves. Slumlords, for instance. But of course there are all sorts of owners out there and management companies too that can border on being their eyes, ears and thugs. It's really sick though for anyone to snoop like that. They say that serial rapists and killers usually start out as peeping Toms. It's a psycho thing to do, and against the law, no matter who's doing it.
Of course there were nasty comments - the RUclips comment section is where psychos everywhere come to be heard. It's one of the worst places in earth. Sorry you had to go through that.
This is the problem. homeowners are renting out properties without understanding or making themselves knowledgeable about the rights of the tenants who they rent their properties to. There is a standard across the board in every state law that says when you rent to somebody they are supposed to be able to enjoy their property in peace. You can not show up on your tenants property without prior written notice or text. You just can't pop up like Steve was doing. That's why this tenant won his case. Dude was out of line, he was stalking them, he was harassing them. I don't care what anybody else on here says! Dude was out of line and did not make himself aware of what the rights are for the tenant. You just can't pop up like that!
The rule of thumb is to never rent from someone that lives within walking distance of the home. People are weird just be preemptive and nip it in the bud.
Handy hint if you cant afford even basic security cameras or installation; have a look in local discount type stores for a cheap dashcam. You should be able to pick one up for as little as $20US and a further $10/15 for the memory card to go in it. You can attach these to the inside of your windows. You may not be able to view in real time while out but they will record everything for 12/24hrs before wiping & starting over so if you've had tresspassers etc it will be evident. They can be hidden in a corner or placed in obvious spots as a deterrent. This way as well you can add more cameras as you can afford & take them with you when moving.
I think you and your wife put up with more than I would have. In all states there are laws about what a landlord can and can't do. Also laws about what renters can and can't do. People like this have no life and just want to aggravate. Many years ago my newlywed husband and I had rented a small apartment above the home of the landlord. He came by many times during the week (while hubby was working) and thought of something that he had to check inside our apartment. The plumbing, the electric box, etc...I let him in a few times. I was 18, he was somewhere in the ages of 58-62. I told my husband. My husband didn't like it and told me to tell Mr. jones no. I about blew a gasket when he said he wanted to do weekly checks to see if I was keeping the apartment clean. I have always been amazingly clean. My mother and grandmothers taught me how to clean. Also I cleaned houses as my job. After he came by a few times I told him, "No more". We were paying to rent . That's it. He said he would evict us. I said " Have at it...go ahead"....He never did. But he always looked me up and down. I always felt naked when he looked at me. We moved after 2 years. Renters do Not have to put up with these kind of things..
That man was in the wrong and had no business being so nosy. You did nothing wrong, so don’t pay any attention what’s the haters have to say. You don’t have to answer to anyone.
Fuck their comments! The dude was creepy and invasive. I understand that he owns the house but it's like a shirt. If you lend someone a shirt, you don't try to wear it while they have it on.. Just common nature. My landlord almost doesn't exist to me. He only comes to our house when there's a problem and even then, he lets us know when he'll be there and what he's there for.
+Coriolis what you've said IS true, but it does lend itself to question. Do you have a deep seated compulsion for rhetoric, or is expressing the desire for others to censor themselves a choice?
Dude! Sorry to hear about your troubles with that landlord, but you were totally in the right. You have to feel safe in your home. When I lived in Germany back in the 89's I had a landlord that would sneak into our apartment when we were out. Nothing disappeared, but still who wants someone going thru their stuff when the're out? Sometimes things would be amiss when the wife and I came home. I set up a "trail camera" and caught her in the act of searching our apartment. She claimed it was her right to enter the apartment anytime as she "owned the property". However, if one rents property, like an apartment, the law says you loose some of your rights to that property, and the renters (also called "the bailiff") have all the rights of possession, as if it were their own. She ended up getting charged and convicted of "burglary" and "criminal trespass". AND we moved, AND the U.S. military put her apartments on the "banned list" so no more service people could rent from her or her company. About a year later I heard that she had to cut the rents in half as she could now only rent to locals. KARMA, you can't escape it!
RUclips comment threads are a dumpster fire, guy. Don't take it personally. The nasty comments you got were from guilty feeling people that have the exact same personality flaws as your landlord. My landlords are my neighbors, and I never see them. Thanks for the update. Love the mancave.
I’m 4-5 yrs late but I have to say this…Steve is a Karen type of neighbour😅 It’s not strange behaviour but a creepy weird obsession of checking people all the time.
@@King_Flippy_Nips Yes...we had a 4 level large rental home beside us for 23 yrs before owner finally sold as it was falling apart. Then it was re-sold 4 times before a carpenter bought it. He found multiple safety code violations lack of city permits. One example electirical wires behind a bathtub. When we sold moved after 31 yrs..house was on its 8th owner plus 23 renters. *The original owner took so many tenants to court for trivial matters judge threatened what he would do if he ever saw him in small claims court again. Some tenants moved out after 3 mths some 6 mths..he would show up at their door several times a day. He actually tried to hook into our tv cable in early 1980's when he still lived in house.
the nasty comments come from the steves of the world. Adult "bullying" is an epidemic that no one talks about. These toxic overgrown children make life a living hell.
I know this is a four/five year old situation and video, but bro you should not need to apologize for documenting the weird behavior this guy was displaying and speculating on what he was doing. You should feel safe especially in your own home and neighborhood, and if you thought this guy was worrying you and threatening your family's safety and privacy, you had every right to film and call attention with your video. Hope you don't have any future problems like that again, and thank you for sharing both your experience and your camera mounting methods!
Him flying a drone over your house to view what has happening in the backyard is illegal, whether the airport was there or not. It's considered videoing in a private area/place where you are legally expected to have privacy. Whether he was the land owner or not, he was bot an active house member in that home, therefore he had no legal right to be videoing you with the drone. Even flying it over your house is considered private property.
Experiencing the same problems with the person who lives next door to me also. Constantly doing things to annoy me and will not stop. I ignore him, don't speak to him and he continues. Pray everyday and don't want to move but considering it this spring for my safety.
What kind of a sad life you would have to have to be a hater about your video, Steve did overstep his bounds and he knew it, that is why he came while you were gone instead of while you were there. Great job handling him and the situation.
The minute I found out my landlord is getting into my business (without any legal reason to) I would immediately start looking for a new place to live. No one needs that busybody drama.
The haters & trolls ALSO need to just GET A F*CKING LIFE. This guy is just DOCUMENTING everything because Steve sounds like he could've been a real psycho...🙈
Your video should not have offended anyone... That landlord was breaking the law plain and simple... He overstepped his boundaries... I can only imagine if somebody got upset it's because they were a nosy crazy landlord themselves.. lol jk
I wish this stuff had been available to me many years ago - I woke up one day, to find my landlord standing next to my bed! I was one day late on the rent, so that was his "excuse". I talked to his wife about it, and we agreed that I would just work with her, and her husband was never to come to the property again! Later on, one of her sons (her sons did all of the maintenance work on their rentals) came to fix something in the bathroom, and he left the front door WIDE OPEN when he came back in after getting tools! My son (a toddler) went out of the house, and ended up on the busy road!! A city bus stopped, and the driver brought him back to my house. Thankfully, he wasn't hurt at all.
I just want to know who had nasty comments about this guy? His landlord was super creepy and was a stalker, and yet you still side with Steve? Sounds to me like you people are guilty of the same things as his landlord...
I used to live in an apartment complex where the landlord would just walk in at anytime, without notice, without even knocking. Due to some of the comments on the previous video, it's clear that people think that's the landlord's right, but it's not. Just like the landlord having cctv to the interior of the house, isn't thier right either. A neighbor put a notice on thier door listing tenant rights and landlord responsibilities, while TX laws are different than CA there are some similiarities. You noted a pattern, but in TX they're required to give you notice before entering the residence. You have the right to privacy (no peeping), health (functional plumbing), and security (deadbolts & locks not circumvented w/o knowledge or permission). Basically, in TX you're not just paying for a roof over your head, you're paying for everything within the terms of the contract, so unless they specify in the contract, "Can come over, and enter the bathroom while you're taking a shower," it's your right as a Tenant to not have to put up with such behavior. Just because they own the home/apartment, once money changes hands, and/or a lease/contract is signed, then thier role becomes that of handyman/plumber. That you pay monthly for them to provide those services as needed. The whole other arguement falls on it's face when you consider morgatges and auto-loans. Just because the bank, or someone else owns it, doesn't give them the right to enter the home, or "borrow" the car whenever they want, until it's completely paid off. You just have more limits as a renter when it comes to modifications to the house/apartment.
Hate that people are such jerks. I'm also glad y'all are in a new home. Thank you for doing the right thing, sounds like it scared him enough to stop being a landlord. Had a landlord that would come into my home constantly when I was not there and move things or comment on new furniture or changes I made in my rooms when I saw them to pay the rent. Wish I could have afforded to do what you did. It always scared me because they knew I was single and alone in the apartment. Had to put up with that creepiness for a year. So glad to be free of that. So I can imagine the relief you must have felt from moving.
What? You got horrible comments for exposing this creep? I wondered why you bothered to hide his face. Far too nice. This is actually stalking. It causes distress to victims. Don't you have laws against this? (I am writing from Australia.) I can understand why you put up with it while he had a hold over you, but I would have gone straight to the cops when it continued after you moved. Here you could also take out an intervention order and have his creep backside charged with a criminal offence if he violated it. I have been a landlord and a tenant and have been lucky with my landlords and tenants. You do the right thing by them and they will do the right thing by you has been my experience. I also lived and worked in the US for a time. Always found Americans to be friendly and welcoming people.
Um PLEASE don't listen to those nasty comments that people leave. Unfortunately when videos get a lot of views or a lot of attention there's always those people that like to be mean & nasty for no apparent reason. I like to imagine they have no life & enjoy being mouthy online BC they're too afraid to IN REAL LIFE. You seem like a decent guy so please don't even think twice about those comments...
You have no need to explain yourself or justify anything to anyone, your ex landlord was a total creep & wrongly interfering in your home & lives & disturbing your privacy; essentially violating your rights in many ways. I hope you & your family are happy, safe & content in your new home 😊
I would have moved too...he was too creepy, there is one thing doing a check on the place once a month but the way he did it, and the drone thing, he had some mental problems or something. Glad you and your family have moved and are safe
You were absolutely right. Steve is a serious risk to you and the family. I note that he mentions your 'stay at home' wife right at the start.... definitely a risk 😬🤯
Chaos Zombie999 If someone is renting a property that you own, you have to treat that property as theirs, in some respects. It's just as illegal to enter their residence as if you broke into a home that wasn't being rented from you.
I feel for you. I have rented most of my life and I've had two nosy landlords. The first one older couple. Me single mom in my 20's they seemed nice when I looked at the house. The lady did most of the talking because her husband could not hear and would turn down his hearing aid and not turn it back up. They lived about 100 miles from the house I rented. After moving in I noticed things moved around the yard and in the house. So I started locking my doors. Things still moved around . So I changed locks but kept the old ones to put back on when I moved out. A few days later I get a call from my landlord and asked if I changed my locks I said yes. And told her why. She was ok with it but he was mad. Then I started finding notes on my door to mow but the yard was mowed. ?? After a few pictures and phone calls to her she said she would try to make him stop but couldn't. I found out he would sleep in his truck so he could watch me. I moved as fast as I could.
Why why as a young woman would you not lock your doors initially. Everyone needs to lock doors even during the day no matter where you live. We live in a safe small city but have had people enter our garage through a 10 minute open garage door while we are in backyard( they were just being snoopy to see what we had in there..super creepy). Today people think they are entitled to be voyeuristic.
I don't get why people were so pissy about your last video. You are paying someone every month. People are constantly like "Poor landlord needs to watch out for his property." Well guess what, being a landlord is a risky thing and you should price your rentals accordingly. You should save up for possible issues. That is also why you have a deposit. Poor landlords my ass. If you are that worried about it then don't rent your property.
Idk, his behavior is pretty abnormal. I know you said that you don't think he's a predator but I can't think of many other reasons of why? Did he think you were doing drugs? And then he had the audacity to FOLLOW you... that's some pretty scary shit. Might need a restraining order.
Your landlord was crazy and intrusive. Security cameras are a good thing even for landlords. It keeps the property a little bit safer from break-ins. He was butt hurt because he couldn't be shady and just enter your home at will. Security cameras would catch him using his key and just walking through the door too. I had a creepy landlord several years ago that just walked into my house. How did I know he was being a creeper? I was at home one day with the flu and didn't go to work. He just barged through the door and walked straight into my bedroom. I was freaking out and he ran out the front door. I moved out right after that. By the way, not all of us are evil trolls. Every channel on RUclips gets slammed by trolls. I think of them as people who are miserable and have no control over their own lives. They probably get bullied by a controlling spouse or significant other. Maybe they have a horrible home or work life. I just ignore their comments. (Good luck in San Francisco! I miss the city so much. NorCal is my home but I live in Washington State now.)👌❤
I had landlords that only rented to my family because i was a stay at home mom because according to the landlord “a woman’s place is in the home” and women should be seen and not heard. I had a feeling they were sneaking into my home so I used to set up booby traps so I knew they were there. They had only come to my home once when I first moved in and then they wanted to do a walk thru a few months later and the landlord wife said “oh you got a new table”…..proof positive the were entering my home when I wasn’t there. I had just purchased the table a month before.
You stood up for yourself and your family and people should learn from it. Those who criticized you should learn that renters have rights that are just as sacred as the landlords. Some landlords always say that good renters are hard to find, I think that those landlords could possibly be the ones who make it difficult to rent from. Not all landlords, but some. We had a fantastic landlord when we rented and he halved the price of our rent to keep us because our heating bill was astronomical (the house wasn't insulated well enough). We stayed one more year before we bought our own house. He was great, but he said he did have a hard time finding renters who would take care of the place as well as we did. I advised him that if he installed a new front door and insulated the house he might have better luck. His new tenants have been there since we left over 12 years ago and we get a Christmas card from him every year. I think landlords like him are hard to find and we got lucky. Steve wouldn't have appreciated my husband wearing his military uniform everyday and hopefully would have struggled to harass us like that... but you really never know.
I have been a landlord and a renter. Cameras along with alarms help both. Steve didn't want the cameras there because he couldn't peep or infringe on the rental property. I'm amazed you put up with his actions for so long. Thanks for the info on the cameras.
202 thumbs up in 3 years and no comments. Here you go bud.
Where/what state do you live?
I can’t get over him following you to your new residence! And people who made hateful comments on the first video… can’t figure out why, Steve came across creepy as heck! And we only seen like 10 minutes of it, can’t imagine all the weird stuff he was doing all the years you were there!
When I rented years ago and asked the landlord if we could put security cameras up, he was pleased and even installed them for us.
The fact that your wife is an at home mom and he pointed it out.
Thank God, you left.
Mr Poole No better way to say it.
They'd probably lower the landlord's insurance as well.
"Steve sold the house, so he isn't driving anyone crazy any more."
Oh, believe me! He's still driving people crazy! 😂
People like Steve find ways!!😂
Right! I feel sorry for new owners who don't know the mess they will be dealing with. I hope not, however. What do you want to bet he's acting like he still owns the house and harassing them. I hope the neighbors warn them.
@@marianelareyesakanj_latina8040 😂😂😂Sadly true.
The fact that people defended that creepy man is beyond me! He literally followed this family to their new home!! He’s a sicko, end of story.
Most people are idiots
Alvaro García, were there any signs when you interviewed them before taking them on as tenants? If I were a landlord I'd (with their permission) check the place once or twice a year, at the very least for any problems with appliances, air conditioning, exterior condition. Easy to notice these tenant problems during that inspection.
security deposits don't cover 10K, or 20K in damages.
+alvaro garcia
how does one even break the floor?
Breaking wood only requires a bit of effort, even treated. Maybe the floor was tile? That's easier to crack with a good swing from a hammer. Or that foamy plastic shit, which just crumbles with enough force.
There are way too many ‘keyboard warriors’ who think it’s okay to say a load of rubbish that they would NEVER say to your face. Good luck to you and your family, I hope your new home is working out well for you all 👌🏻
Hope u got restraining order against that creep! He FOLLOWED you to your new home. Oh hell no
Anyone who thinks that you were wrong is crazy.
Renting a property makes it your property (with some exceptions, like no drilling holes, which is reasonable).
If he followed you to your new home and is "running" into your wife and harassing her on the road, that is stalking and attempting to cause harm with a vehicle. Time to get the cops involved and Steved locked up.
It’s surprising you received nasty comments. Your landlord is a nut job. Sorry you and your family had to go through that.
Nasty comments came from people just like the landlord. SMH
This landlord was a total creep. He has nothing better to do with his time. You totally did the right thing.
You were COMPLETELY in the right!! I've just seen the first video and I was baffled by his actions!!!
Steve was creepy and you had every right to protect your family.
It almost seems like Steve peeped you guys as a family and wanted you in there for a reason 👀
That would have gotten them shot in my house. Glad nothing bad happened to you when they did that.
the father of my former landlord was living nearby. one day he entered my flat with another guy to fix something while i was still asleep in the morning. i've stormed into the living room with a bowie and a small baseball bat because i've thought they were robbing me and i was already swinging the bat to hit the other guy straight on the back of his head when i recognized the landlords father.... never forget his face and the moment i almost smashed a guys head....
Everyone who's sticking up for the landlord must be weirdos too
I came upon your original video by accident and I couldn't believe it!! If anyone had negative comments for you SHAME ON THEM!! I about lost my mind in seeing only what was in your video. I'm really sorry that happened to you and I'm on your side.
You sound like a great tenant. He was very creepy. You were smart to get away from him.
Landlord’s are not legally permitted to come on the property or enter the home without your permission. Once it is rented/leased to you it is considered your property not theirs. People who don’t understand that should brush up on tenant landlord law. Congratulations on your new home. Property management company are much better to work with they generally know the laws.
Jan Johns this depends completely on the lease
Agree!
he could NOT explain CRAZY. he was obsessed with your family or maybe just 1 of you. who knows.???
I saw your first video and then this one. I can't believe all the bad, negative comments. Some of those people sound just as bad a Steve, the landlord. You did EVERYTHING right!! And the fact that he FOLLOWED you to your new home is just beyond weird!!! That guy has some MAJOR problems!!! Glad you are out and safe!!!
I was going to say, the only people defending Steve-o are people just like him!
I can’t figure why people would make negative comments toward you. Seems like y’all were simply trying to enjoy your life without being constantly monitored by your landlord. It’s good you moved, though, as that living your life under a microscope is no way to live.
Steve's first mistake was suggesting that you should move when you asked for cameras to be installed.
I once had a landlord that insisted on inspections every month when he got paid. I was a single mom and he sexually harassed me and when I had a friend over he would come ask questions.
What was he asking? He was coming to question your friend?
Lordy...R-U-N !!!
Forget the haters. You have the right to feel safe and not be harrassed!!!
Steves gives me that Herbert the Pervert vibe
I don't understand why people are so rude to you, as you did nothing wrong. I would have done the same thing if I were in your situation. Take care
I am sorry to hear you went through all that. Having an insecure, ridiculous landlord makes living challenging.
Don't know why this is recommended to me.
Watched both videos and glad you moved.
Of course there were nasty comments - the RUclips comment section is where psychos everywhere come to be heard. It's one of the worst places in earth. Sorry you had to go through that.
He followed you to your new house? That's more than a red flag!
I'd say that sent up more red flags for me than were seen at the Bolshevik Revolution of 1919...
Dont feel bad, Steve is a creeper, and internet trolls like to trigger people
This is the problem. homeowners are renting out properties without understanding or making themselves knowledgeable about the rights of the tenants who they rent their properties to.
The nasty comments were probably just Steve in disguise.
Wtf people. Steve did a lot of strange stuff. You can’t legally ask a tenant to leave their possessions unlocked.
I am a landlord that does not infringe on my tenants. I see nothing wrong in what you did.
I bet if you'd put hidden cameras INSIDE your home only, you'd have caught him inside your home!
Renters do Not have to put up with these kind of things..
good story
Ewww creepy. I'm glad you and your husband didn't take that crap.
Navaeh Johnson yup fuck them, even though there r many kids we r saying fuck
No need to swear.
+Coriolis what you've said IS true, but it does lend itself to question.
Do you have a deep seated compulsion for rhetoric,
or is expressing the desire for others to censor themselves a choice?
+Coriolis fuck you hahaha ass wipe
Screw the nasty comments. You were and ARE protecting your family. You dont have to justify your reasons or means of doing that, to ANYONE.
What a calm attitude! Trespassing should not be tolerated. Steve was very lucky to have you as a tenant.
In Australia landlord can not enter your yard without written 24hr notice
48 hours here in canada unless its an emergency
Am I surprised that this man is so nosy? A man who has no work is either a bum or a Karen or both
Excellent idea on the installation process at your old house. Yes that previous landlord definitely had problems and was in the wrong
the nasty comments come from the steves of the world.
Yep. It is illegal to video record or photograph in to a private dwelling thru the windows and doors.
Experiencing the same problems with the person who lives next door to me also. Constantly doing things to annoy me and will not stop. I ignore him, don't speak to him and he continues. Pray everyday and don't want to move but considering it this spring for my safety.
Im So Sorry your going thru this. Ive been thru Harrasment and theres nothing worse, Hope you find some resovle and Peace x
Guaranteed the nasty comments came from landlords or other control freaks.
Why am i watching this i need to get out of bed and get shit done
What kind of a sad life you would have to have to be a hater about your video, Steve did overstep his bounds and he knew it, that is why he came while you were gone instead of while you were there. Great job handling him and the situation.
Steve was creepy as HELL !! glad you moved !! stay safe !!
Dam i hate people have to apologize. He was a creepy landlord.
If people were leaving negative comments...that means there are a lot more Steve's out there.
(Cue the shrieky cliff-hanger music).
The minute I found out my landlord is getting into my business (without any legal reason to) I would immediately start looking for a new place to live. No one needs that busybody drama.
The haters & trolls ALSO need
to just GET A F*CKING LIFE.
I wouldn't want anyone nosing around my house whether I was home or not. I hope you have peace now. Nothing worse than a bad neighbor.
You done well getting away from him.
Your a regular nice guy with a great family, don't listen to garbage people write.
I bet there are hidden cameras inside of the rental home.
The guy is a freak and anyone who thinks he was within his rights are mental. He was definitely taking way too much of an interest in you
Um PLEASE don't listen to those nasty comments that people leave.
Always fascinating when people get all upset when one wants to document actual facts via recording 🤔 those are people that are only up to no good
Legally he broke the requirement to give 24 hrs notice of any visit & also, your tenants right to "quiet enjoyment of the property".
You were absolutely right. Steve is a serious risk to you and the family. I note that he mentions your 'stay at home' wife right at the start.... definitely a risk 😬🤯
Well spotted he was a creep for sure
That struck me as creepy too bcz you'd think a landlord would be more reassured if both adult tennants were gainfully employed.
One of my friends had his landlord come and break into the house. They sued and were able to get a huge amount of compensation and left.
Jerry Camarella break in? For what? That’s honestly the most retarded thing ever
Chaos Zombie999 If someone is renting a property that you own, you have to treat that property as theirs, in some respects. It's just as illegal to enter their residence as if you broke into a home that wasn't being rented from you.
Doug Smith I know that.. the landlord broke into the house and I asked for what?
@@tarnsand440 I lived in a small town and it was in the 80's.
Unfortunately there are both landlords and tenants who are assholes, hence the laws trying to protect both.
