I just got the a1000 and I'm trying to use it with a g85. However, I can't seem to find the first balance that you show at 2:12. I've been playing with the 2 first screws but the camera just doesn't stay whatever I leave it. Am I missing something? Thank you!
HBFilms the problem was on the quick release plate balance. The camera needed to go a bit forwards but the small silver cilinder underneath wouldn't let it go. So I just pressed the black button next to the red screw, slided the plate forwards and the balance point was just right where the silver cilinder was. Not sure if that's ok, but it was the only way I could find to balance it out
Really useful. Thanks for sharing this. The interesting thing about this gymbal is trying to get the thing to repeat the same move in time-lapse and real time and the problem I have with that is how to get the thing to return to the first point of the track. It should be easy, but isn't proving to be.
This that the upgraded version that can handle more weight? I have the Canon 200d but think I got the first version of the gimbal and I'm abit scared it may not be able to handle the weight of the Canon 200d
Yeah this is the newer version that holds 1.8kg apparently. The little tripod it comes with let’s you know which version you have. Think the updated one has a red ring on it
As long as it’s below 1.8kg total then yes in theory. I’m going to be testing out all the different lenses I have shortly to see if it can balance them. I’ll get that video out as soon as I can
This is strange. I have read newer models of the gimbal support 1.8KG but most shops are advertising it has a maximum load of 1Kg. This makes it very hard to know which version you are getting and if it is the mistake of the shop or not.
Totally agree. Even on amazon when I ordered it, some of the description said 1.7kg and other bits said 1kg. Suppose if you order through amazon can always send it back. People have said you can tell by if you get the little tripod with a red band on it, that’s the higher payload gimbal
Extremely helpful thanks! Had mine for almost a year and this was the most accurate and fast way to set it up for me Ps : careful coz downfall with a1000 is that you can't fix a mic on it, too heavy so you would need the 2500. Wish I knew this before taking mine
Sorry I meant that adding a regular rode mic on top of the camera makes it too heavy for the gimbal to support. I didn't find and another way to get the mic while recording sadly
have you tried it with 16-35 FE? I just got my A1000 yesterday but I was not able to balance it correclty with my older Minolta 17-35. Size and weight almost the same with adapter (LA-EA4) as FE 16-35. However I am thinking that maybe the adapter's size does the setup too front heavy...
HBFilms thanks the answer, I will wait the results. Side question: is it hard to tighten or loosen the thumb screw which holds the quick release plate? Mine is quite hard and even if I tighten as hard as I can it the QR plate will move slightly. Afterwards I won't be able to loosen it because it's too tight...
I find exactly the same problem. I lost skin off my thumb trying to tighten that thing and then afterwards the quick release plate still moves slightly
HBFilms I thought it was gonna be as easy as just point and shoot. I realized that I was adding bounce. I shot the Philadelphia Chinese lantern fest with the Crane M for the first time.
I would say don’t overthink it. When I first got my gimbal I didn’t mess around with ninja walking and being really conscious about my walking and my footage used to be a lot smoother than it is now
I couldn’t believe the low light you were getting out of that thing! I don’t think you need ibis when you have the gimbal. I sometimes wonder if they are working against each other instead of together
So refreshingly welcome to see a video without someone beginning it by asking me, "Wazzz up?" This was very informative and helpful, thank you.

I think I've figured it out. Thank you for the great video!
Great news. Was it just a case of balance? Or was something going wrong?

@@epochstories I finally found the answer. Thank you!

I haven’t really had much experience with time lapse feature unfortunately. Only used it once or twice
Hi sir. I just bought this gimbal, do u switch on / off the IBIS for the camera when using with the gimbal?
Hello! In my example I have left Ibis turned on the whole time
Awesome video 🤙 have you tried the gimbal with sony a6500 and 18-105 lens? Do you think the gimbal is strong enought for this setting?
I haven’t tried it with the a6500 but the gimbal wouldn’t have any problem with it and the 18-105 I’m sure

Pretty cool, looking forward to the review. You're almost at 500 subs!
It’s getting close mate!
Hi, Can this gimbal shoot portrait?
I'm buying mine next week , very helpful 👍🏾👍🏾
Thank you! Hope you enjoy it. My review of it comes out Friday
this is an awesome gimbal! would it hold an a7iii with a 24-70 gmaster?

Couldn’t you mount the mic on the 1/4 “ screw on the handle?
Sorry I meant that adding a regular rode mic on top of the camera makes it too heavy for the gimbal to support.
I didn't find and another way to get the mic while recording sadly
Oh wait wait I can mount the mic on the handle ?? Looked for it but didn't find that 1/4 screw :o
I’m sure it’s got one on the handle. I’ll have a stare at mine when I get home
Thank you!!!!

I’ve not got the 16-35. I’m going to be testing my heavier lenses this weekend. Video will be out soon

thanks. then it is "normal" :D I am trying to figure out a solution to this somehow. maybe an additional arca style QR plate would solve the issue.
can i use for lumix fz300 ?
I’m still trying to learn how to use the gimbal I recently purchased.
How are you getting on with it?
HBFilms I thought it was gonna be as easy as just point and shoot. I realized that I was adding bounce. I shot the Philadelphia Chinese lantern fest with the Crane M for the first time.
I would say don’t overthink it. When I first got my gimbal I didn’t mess around with ninja walking and being really conscious about my walking and my footage used to be a lot smoother than it is now
HBFilms I was over thinking it because of the a6000 not having “ibis”.
I couldn’t believe the low light you were getting out of that thing! I don’t think you need ibis when you have the gimbal. I sometimes wonder if they are working against each other instead of together
