Can’t pick and choose , and stuff when you need to make money!! Most metal is all rusted! I hate buying rusted metal. I LOVE these farm clean ups. Cost money to stop and separate stuff. Time is money…😃😀Happy Fathers day!!!!
A friend in the early '70s mother, bought one of these Fiats. Nice little car but certainly not built to handle North American roads and highways. They didn't keep it for long. OUCH!!! I work at Sunbelt Rentals. Climbing in and out of equipment like skid steers will bite you when least expected! Love your skill and experience operating machinery with forks, as an older fella you've inspired me to do the same!! Always enjoy watching your videos from start to finish!!! ✌🇨🇦
They work fine cruising at 60-70 mph on the highway, but prefer rougher curvy roads. This, the 128, was the car VW picked apart to study when they made the Golf. Or I guess, Rabbit over there. Just don't ruin the engine by driving like an old lady, like all other Italians, they want their revs. Don't change the gear when you can, wait until you have to. Like any proper Italian man would do.
@@rudolphbondefangerer5513 The "Rabbit" was a great car replacing the "Beetle" in Canada. I worked at a Chinese restaurant delivering in both because the owner liked these German cars. My dad bought a new '68 Beetle and that sparked my love for VWs!
Just recently discovered your channel Silas I'm really enjoying it I'm in Leeds west Yorkshire England you are one hard worker my friend. My first job aged 17 was in a scrapyard I absolutely loved it keep up the good work
The car at the beginning of the video is a FIAT 128 ESTATE ( or a station wagon in the US) and here in Wales UK 🏴 I used to have a 128 saloon that was heavily modified and it was an absolute demon and especially in the corners as the suspension was fully braced and lowered and it ran a 1500 X19 engine with a high lift camshaft with twin Webber 40s , I loved that car and it was the most reliable car I've ever had, a real wolf in sheep's clothing.
I always enjoy your videos Silas. I'm a VERY busy grandpa these days and I have to watch in 10 or 15 min increments. Keep doin what you are doin, it works!

I go out and clean places up i dont have a yard where I buy stuff most guys with yards will not go out and clean up places . I am trying to slow down a little but there isnt many doing this stuff so there is a lot a guy can do if he wants to.
At the time (the 70s) station wagons were called (in Italy) "familiare" (in this case familiare means "for the family"). We would never call it estate, as estate means summer. The car, a Fiat "centoventotto familiare" is very rare. Allegedly this car was inspirational for the Germans to create the Golf.
OMG! that's a FIAT 128 station wagon Circa late 1970's. That's the one car I regret having sold. Sold mine to a friend for his first car. It had a really simple air source for the interior. It was basically a hood scoop, except that it was for the interior. The last day that it was in my posession, I discovered that you could fold down the rear seat to expand the cargo area. It was a secret sedan delivery. Sadly, I am in another country right now and I can't go over and get it. Curious fact, it has the same engine that the FIAT X1/9 has.
What a lovely job you have, Silas. So relaxed, yet hard working. You should count yourself lucky. I enjoyed your video, and look forward to the next one.
Happy Fathers Day ! Love the Farm Clean Up - man - You toke just over 30 Tons of Scrap Iron out of there - wow - it was Good Team Work - well done - that Lady must have been Pleased ! Fantastic Video and many Cheers from Australia !!!!
Most of that steel you would have hardly seen unless you walked up to the treeline. The quantity surprised me. That was a lot. Another awesome vid thanks
It would be fun to see you find some random weird stuff in your salvage yard and do a video on crushing it... generators, appliances and anything odd like that. For some weird reason that entertains weird people like me. Maybe stack them on a car or something and squish them on it. It might be a waste of time, but sure is fun to watch!
We once sent out a 40 yarder with 47,000 pounds on it. All brake drums, rotors, calipers and loose front end components left over from the 70's. We did get a call on that one, but we didn't haystack it over the container edge. That was the only stipulation they gave us, nothing over the top, and there was nothing over the top as instructed. New instructions were added after that. Years back we sent out a big dump trailer loaded with engines, mostly pre 1980's V8's, overall was 110,000 with 80 being the max allowed, don't remember what the load itself was. Driver knew it was heavy, he didn't care, more informal times, but he would have been busted if caught 30,000 over.
Outside of the sheets of tin and other metal a lot of that rusted steel was actually steel pilings that are used for making coffer dams to construct trestles and for other types of construction with concrete. They use a crane with a pile driver to pound the pilings into the ground so those pilings had to weigh quite a bit apiece. My question is what was the farmer doing with those steel pilings in the first place?
kawasaki snowmobile, i had one for a little while, got it from my father. guy that came to clean up after the old house burnt in 99 took the wrong pile which had that snowmobile and 2 bowaski's. they were in a row off to the side along some bushes, the pile i put together for him to take was out in the open. its bothered me ever since, plus having 3 older brothers take stuff away, or thats how i feel.
I think he may still be showing vids done in April? There was one a couple videos ago that he recorded back in mid-April. He mentioned that he was way behind on editing.
My father back in the late 70s bought a 1974 fiat 128 2 door same as that car ours was white ironic on fathers day. In 1980-81 we sold it to my cousin put a hitch on it and he drove from pittsburgh where we live to victorville california pulled in his fathers driveway his father put his foot on the back bumper and it fell off with a small uhaul on it. It had realy thick black leather bucket seats.
Gday Silas love the farm cleanup videos, I couldn’t do that because most of that stuff would end up at my place lol. They call me a Bower bird in OZ coz thats what they do for their nests. How’s the knee?
That Fiat got a twinc in it by any chance? The twin cam 1600 or 2 litre motors are good, robust carburetted units that you can tune to the hilt. May be too rare over there to be worth the effort, but over here they're still in demand, despite not having been made for decades.
Happy father's day to everyone.
You are an honest man Silas....we need many more. Thank you.
🔥🥂😎
Far from it...

Yes ! ....what a shame that it is just being sent off for scrap !
That Fiat should be sent to Stellantis they’ll build a Fiat “RAM “pickup out of it

A Fiat 128 in the trees, my first car I had from new 1972. Left it out in the rain and it rusted very quickly !!!

The clean ups look like fun!
Excellent 😊
Fiat 128 wagon...they were rust prone so rare to see one...they're even rare in Italy!
That firebird was the last of the 3rd gen.On video anyway the body looks solid if the floors are good it's probably worth saving if it's a V8 car.
It's a 91 or 92 based on the nose and ground effects.
Hellow buddy good luck
Hello all
Hey Silas. Nice video. How about digging your telephone lines underground to get rid of posts...
nice clear sky
Oh WAY more than 25k.
Surprised the truck could load that box up haha. Good job
in the uk that metal desk and the filing cabinetes get decent money from interior decoraters
Ouch!!! Take care of yourself there, Young Man!!!
I like the green f150 super crew sitting there that's what i drive best truck i ever owned
Making an adventure from scratch takes so much more time and effort. Have you ever tried making an adventure from pre-packaged concepts ?
Dang it Silas! Bash your knee in then lose your drawers...LOL!
I heard that thump and cringed.
Ice it down tonite.
Cheers
Terry
Well a burnt car doesn't smell like mouse pee.
I like that yellow tow truck 😊
Didn't see too many goodies there but there sure was a whole lotta dense metal.
Stayin tuned! 👍🤠
What is that green box? 24:58
Anyone?
I think it was an old heavy duty weldingmachine.
Welder
TY! 👍
Silas. Maybe Santa will bring you some leg pads for Christmas. 😊
Eyyy, some AMFS!
I’m in the process of getting rid of my metal hoard that I have collected for welding projects. I’ve aged out !! Too old and tired.
The little red car at the start, in Europe it is called FIAT 128 Estate. Maybe another name in US. Yours Mads from Denmark.
This is gotta be some what old. There is a searing. Heat wavy hitting. Kansas is right in the path.
I think he may still be showing vids done in April? There was one a couple videos ago that he recorded back in mid-April. He mentioned that he was way behind on editing.
I agree it's in middle of June ,and he is wearing a coat ? Been around 90 all week
Yellow sunglasses are the best!
Happy work day 🛻
I had a fiat like that , seem to remember it was called a comadoro torino , but it was a long time ago, it was a decent car
Just checking in. When you get time let me know what shipping is for '50 packard nose and driver door to 76067. Forklift offload here.
I’ve got to dig the car out. Lost a ton of trees and can’t get to it at the moment.
No hurry. Just keep me in your memory bank. Thanks

No twin cams in the 128 ,it had a 1300cc single overhead cam and you could rev the nuts off them, a super little engine!.
The engine of that era was very impressive, lol the Fiat
What was the year on the tag on that Fiat.
Are any of these clean up properties that you do for sale. Looking for smaller property with a creek or river that I can retire on. Kansas or Oklahoma
Hey St Nick
Silas watch out for that knee ouch😮 we all are getting older and out of shape it's foods we eat
Yes Sir!!!
