- I'm in Udaipur for the Holi Festival in India. What an experience. I don't think I've seen anything like it before. We were blessed with a perfect day and the people turned out. The music, the people, the energy, just unbelievable. You can't walk 10 feet without getting holi'd with color or hit with water. It was one experience I'll definitely never forget!

Hey Nick!! Its me the earth (Pruthvi) i wish you the great health. Hope you might have experienced the best colourful holi in udaipur.
Actually it's the Holi fest kind of thing which you saw .....for the netizens it takes place in two stages first at morning which you saw and then there is evening holi during which people visit houses of their neighbours and friends and younger people take blessings from elders by applying colours on the feet of elders and people make different type of sweets and snacks and we eat it.
ah ok.. so thanks for the info. So the locals continue on in the evening. That would have been cool to see what goes on in the evenings too... next year I'll have to tag along with a local then @@nickykumari7089

Udaipur is one of the few places in India which has never been ruled by foreigners. so there is feel of authentic India.

Rajasthan at large has never been under direct control of foreigners thanks to our warriors who fought against invasions, at worst we had to sign unfair treaties but the area always remained administered by our local kings

but I agree it had good warriors who fought.
Not just rajasthan but many other regions in east and south were self administered but doesnt mean they were not ruled.

this is the first beautiful place you have visited India. Udaipur is known as Venice of the east, The White City, the city of lakes. if you visit beautiful places like this you will love India more than if you visit only big cities like delhi and Mumbai where they have forgotten their own culture.
