Girls Rule Message from

[A message to 200 young girls attending Dillard, Stranahan, Plantation and Boyd Anderson High Schools]
Hi Girls! It’s Dr. Yvette.
And I am SO excited to meet you at this year’s Girls Rule Ignite Your Superpower event. We’ve got a good line up of powerful women who are taking time out of their days just to teach you. We’ll have an amazing time, but before the event I want to share with you my superpower and hope to hear from you about yours.
My superpower is GENEROSITY and my reminder to you is to always look for ways to give. It may be that you share with someone something tangible that you actually have in your possession or it could look like sharing information with someone who doesn’t know the things that you know. If you’re involved in community service, then guess what? You’re already being generous. Either way, you’re not being stingy.
There’s a verse that says, “To whom much is given, much is required”. I’ve learned that when you open your hands and your heart to help others, then both your hands and your heart are open to receive more of what you need. So, be generous where you can and when you can.
