  • I just bought these Rechargeable Energizer ultimate batteries, I used them for about a month and one of them didn't want to charge anymore. My charger said I had a dead battery. I tried to recharge it over and over, but the Chargers said each time the battery was dead. I was really surprised because it's advertised that you can get 1,500 Chargers out of these batteries. I was thinking about switching over to an Eveready battery or a Duracell battery, but the same thing will happen to those batteries to. As you know these batteries can be expensive, you can find them at Walmart, Amazon, eBay, but wherever you buy them this will happen to you sooner or later. You put the battery in the charger and it buzzes telling you, you have a dead battery. I used to toss these batteries because I didn't know what else to do, It wouldn't take a charge! I knew I didn't use up the battery capacity, I hardly use These batteries on flashlight, radio, LED lights, wireless mics, remote control toys. I use AA batteries and AAA batteries on these items. Watch this video and I will show you how to easily fix your NiMH batteries if they don't take a charge.. Of course here's the disclaimer. Do this at your own risk.

Hi Thank you very much for the useful information. 3 of my new batteries refused to charge. I saw another post where the batteries were brought to life using a 12 volt power pack and also suggested using a 12 V car battery. Any comments on that. Thanks.

This will actually work. Same principle works for "reviving dewalt 18v or 20v. Only diff is, you have to use 2 wires that connect to the exact same battery. For ex: 2 20v dewalt batteries with one wire on each pos and neg terminal.. it gives the battery a "jump start" so that the intended battery charging unit will work.

I think it would be better if Energizer just replaced the batteries that are dead after a little use. It's clear that it's a product that is below par

I had that problem ( and no I don’t buy a bunch of batteries, I’ve used the same ones for 10 years or so 😂) long ago I got what I assume is some kind of trickle charger to go with them. I got a ‘new charger, only because I needed the 1 battery, but wasn’t going to deny 3 extra, the deal was for 4 with a charger just more cost effective and what was on the shelf 🙄. The charger went in the trash, and I still use the same ol energizer charger that I’ve always used, and primarily solar lights 🤷. My issue is after like 15 years one or two of the batteries are just ‘weak’ like a dead cell or something, it takes a a charge and still if I pop them into one of the solar lights the led still lights just it’s not bright 🤔 one of the batteries isn’t but a couple years old now, and I get it, they owe me nothing but I’m like can it be revived

You should have measured the battery to prove it was dead before tapping the battery with the wires. You know how people are.😁

you can just use a piece of metal cutlery (spoon or fork) and a metal sink top to hold them in parallel for a few seconds, instead of using wire & tape.
Eg. have them standing up on the sink (negetive touching the sink, positive facing up) and put a spoon handle across the two positives for a few seconds.

@@notsofast2325I put two AA batteries back to back = NEG to NEG then connected a wire from Pos to Pos - held the connection for 30 sec, then charged each battery => 1.46 V. These were supposed to be NEW batteries!! Wonder if they are fine now or do I exchange them. Only way to know date of batteries is when they are sealed in plastic. Hopefully, that is correct.

This jumper method works with most rechargeable batteries and I’ve seen videos of guys jumping dewalt batteries too that won’t charge. The battery is to low for the charger to pick up seems to be the issue. I have about 4 different energizer battery charger types. Slow charge and 15 minute chargers. I’ve had luck just switching chargers and sometimes one will will charge when the others won’t. I’ve got energizer batteries that are 10+ years old still working. Not amazing performance but they still work. AA AAA C and D work well. I wouldn’t recommend the rechargeable 9V batteries. They just don’t do well. Get the lithium ones.

Hi I thought those types of rechargeable batteries measure 1.2 volts not 1.5 volts?. Good video though

Its like lithium ion ones, nominal voltage 3.7 but when fully charged 4.2V. These ones have nominal voltage 1.2 but they are fully charged at 1.45/1.4V

Follow the wire touching negative down to the dead battery’s negative. Or maybe play it safe and don’t.

Why not use one wire put then together + to + and by one wire - to - ? It is easiest. One good is enough to revieve bad one, you can use also 5V old phone cherger for 10 sec. When it drops to 0,68 V it will drop again. I bought Eneloops and it never fails to 0,68V. I have MHC9000 - if battery is 0V but ready to take charge it is charging by 125 mA to 0,9V and then set current.
