I’m done with gopro, i was so unimpressed with the hero12. I’ll be looking at dji from now on. Shame really as gopro totally missed the bus this year.
The pocket 3 and the action 4 are awesome cameras worth.
Yes, both Action 3 and 4 are excellent, mind you, I'm still in love with the form factor of the Action 2 lol.

very good video :) If buy first action cam, in my opinion dji action 4 is really amazing all around action cam. This little things (like WB colors sensor, fast charging, fast response touch screen) I think can be more important than than 5.3K, only this horizon steady 4k (and max lens mod) is amazing can be important for customers :) . 2:44 lost footage ?

Zastanawia mnie jak wypada jakoś nagrań w porównaniu do smartphonów ze średniej półki . Pomijam Apple bo nie odpowiada mi ich system . I czy między action 3 i 4 jest wielka różnica w jakości . Pozdrawiam
Jak masz iPhone 15 Pro Max, to sa dosyc podobne. Jak nie, to jest spora roznica. Action 3 to mniej wieciej to samo co Action 4, malo sie zmienilo, moze warto wydac te pare zl wieciej na Action 4, ale ogolnie Action 3 wystarczy.

Have a GP 11, have had multiple crashes where I had to GP reset it. I’ll be going DJI from now on with a P3 and a Action 4

So for using on my motorbike helmet and videoing my rides, which one would you choose ?
Both are great, mind you with the Action 4 you can use the DJI Mic 2 standalone and it makes capturing audio really easy in your helmet wirelessly or attaching it to the back of your bike to get some nice exhaust sounds.

I dont think FPV POV is best with the body mount. I would expect smoother, more stable video using tilt lock - maybe even slow the gimbal (not joystick response) along with skiwer motions on your part, as you noted 😉 thanks!

How fast is the DJI action 4 versus the GoPro if they both have been turned off for long periods of time from totally off to recording
The Action 4 is still fastest, the GoPro takes what feels like a lifetime to turn on.

Got the hero 12 as a bday present. Love it. First action cam. Don’t like the low light. But in good light then go pro looks great. I’m gonna get a pocket 3 soon. But for chuck in my bag, carry everywhere vlog cam (in decent light) the Hero 12 is great!

I'd still go with the Action 4, I'm used to the Action cameras being reliable, as well as their batteries.

The secret of the image quality of the Action 4 is.....sharpness and noise in -2. Excelent video, as usual.

What about the overheating issue on the Action 4 in EU. I'm thinking of getting one I saw your other video about the Action 4 overheating faster than Hero 12. Or can this be fixed with a patch?

@cameronb5900 well, I’ve heard rumours we might see a few new action cameras in September, so I’d be patient.
I've been a producing sports video work for approximately 15 years with my now old Panasonic AG-AC160A, and now my son has shown an interest in producing action camera videography while doing activities like: airsoft, skiing, bike riding, fishing etc... With that being said, for his birthday I'm in the market for a new video camera, I have watched countless videos comparing the DJI Action 4 & GoPro Hero 12. IMO Gopro has put together the best overall system. Gopro's Bluetooth audio adds many real benefits and options to filming action camera footage. I've heard many people praise the quick change ability of the DJI, although that system looks a little flimsy to me, especially when considering the hash environments (E.g., high vibration, high impact, etc.) action cameras are designed for. I would think that the solid secure design of the GoPro mount would be much more rigid, vs the quick change convenience of DJI's magnetic mount. Regardless the quick change is a moot point, Gopro 12 has that 1/4-20 thread, and quick change camera shoe setups are abundantly available if needed. Overall, right out of the box, I do prefer the quick and easy high qualty imagery that the GoPro Hero 12 produces, again that new Bluetooth audio option, with audio voice commands too. What a benfit that will be when filming action scenes. Plus all the benefits of having that GoPro Subscription. No-questions-asked camera replacement, "Unlimited cloud backup👍, automatic uploading to the cloud when charging, Up to 50% off of product offered at GoPro .com, $100 off your next GoPro upon renewal of subscription; as a whole, Gopro has a much better system.
And I pesonally, if at all possible prefer not to financially support nor reward the Chinese Communist Party's global technology theft network. DJI is directly associated with the CCP's military machine, and as such the CCP is using DJI products to destabilize the freeworld. DJI equipment is funneled via the CCP into the hands terrorists networks such as Iran's: Hesbola & Hamas... as well as the Russian military too. DJI's equipment is sanctioned vis the CCP to slaughter both the Ukrainian and Israeli people!

I know my comments here won't sit well with the DJI action camera community, although when considering the all the facts, GoPro is my pick☝️

I just published a comparison on my channel as well focusing on bike travelling and my usage. There isnt a clear winner but I ended up choosing the Action 4 mostly due to fast charging and because I really disike GoPro as company. But GoPro has better image quality and better stabilization. Colors especially skin tones are a bit weird.
I think the image quality and colour is really a personal preference, some like it soft and natural, some like it harsh and vivid, I personally like the Action 4 with all settings turned down to -2. At the end of the day, both great cameras, but DJI has seemed to put effort into every single detail, countering GoPro every step of the way.

You won’t be happy with GoPro. They STILL haven’t fixed basic problems like overheating, random freezing, etc. Do not give them your money. You will regret it!
Well, they are running at 5.3k in a tiny little body of a camera, so it's pretty much expected. Mind you, apart from stress tests, neither of these has actually every overheated on me in normal use scenarios.
@@PhillipSkraba more of a long-term history with GoPro. Obviously few people, if any, will have enough time to rate the current iteration. Once GoPro can make quality cameras for multiple years in a row, then maybe I’ll consider them again.
Yes, it's something I hear a lot about GoPro, which really is a shame as they started this action camera stuff and I've supported them from the very beginning.
I've recently upgraded from the GoPro 9 to the 12. Some very good updates, file sizes, battery duration etc. 👍

@@PhillipSkraba I forgot to mention the front & rear mic ability also with the media mod. Saves having to faff about with the settings if you want to capture audio from in front and behind the camera. I’m not sure if the DJI camera does that?
Also, the front screen has no lag compared to that pesky screen on the Hero 9. Yes, DJI has 3 mics, you can switch between them or go auto.
Great Video, but I can't agree on the fast-record. My OA4 takes ages until it records. Like at least 4-5 seconds. I missed so many shots because of that, OA1 was much better in this scenario. I really hope, they improve their code and make it record faster... Big downgrade and diappointment for me.
You're kidding?!! There must be something wrong with your model, as both my Action 4 cameras start recording in under a second, have you talked to DJI about this? It really should be much, much faster.
@@PhillipSkraba no I didnt talk to dji. Some people in the Forums agreed with my Statement how slow it is so I thought it's just the way it is.
