Originally Hayley who played twins in Parent Trap 1 released in 1961 used American & Boston accents in their English dialogue however 1998's version continued to use American accented English except for Annie who used British accented English similar to James Bond who requires Scottish Australian British Welsh Irish & Welsh accented English.
@user-ei8mx2pq1o Yeah thankfully she has stability in more recent years and got her life back on track now. She deserves that and just to be happy cause her talent as a child star was meteoric the best analogy and highest praise could give her is that she was another Millie Bobby Brown of her time who did tons of successful work all when still mega young and through her teens. Such as this her breakout movie role, Freaky Friday when she was 16, Mean Girls again only 18...and it all to spiral as it did for her was tragic for such a talent. No way did she get the right support or understanding during those years bearing in mind part of it was she was in a abusive relationship with a guy who obviously didn't treat her right and a piece of lowlife. Anyhow - as said though those years obviously took their toll, thankfully she has come through the other side.
There’s a reason why this is one of, if not my favorite movie of all time. It’s such a comfort for me, makes me value my friends and family, and makes me emotional every viewing without fail. It might be a cheesy kids’ movie to some, but I absolutely adore this film and it’s simple messages. Great reaction! 🖤
You should also watch the original Parent Trap with Hailey Mills, it’s really good as well…Another great 90s movie with “twins” is It Takes Two with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen playing identical strangers that meet at a camp as well 😂😂
Still reckon that was incredibly selfish of the parents - splitting up twins so that they wouldn't have to talk to each other. Heard rumours that in the first few months at least twins and triplets get distraught if they sense they've been separated.
Loved the reaction! This was always one of my favorite movies as a kid. Along with It Takes Two with the Olsen twins, The Secret Garden, and A little Princess. Can't wait for the next one Oh and I know Meredith from Superstar, as Evian.
It takes two is a classic. But looking back on it I feel SO bad for those girls they were run into the ground their entire childhood constantly working.
How the butlers and granddad know there is something is off about the daughters and the parents didn't mean they don't spend enough with their children
This is such a good movie! Fun fact, the actresses who play Chessy(Lisa Ann Walter) and Meredith Blake(Elaine Hendrix) are actually very good friends in real life and are both hillarious!
Ah one of comfort movies ♥ yes this was Lindsay Lohan's first movie. Might I suggest you react to "Junior" with Arnold Scrwartzenneger, Danny DeVito and Emma Thompson? Very sweet movie.
How crazy. I was randomly searching for reactions to this just yesterday lol. It's been my favorite comfort movie since it came out. So excited for this. 💕
I heard that Lindsay Lohan did the scenes as Hallie a year later than when she did Annie so there could be a slight difference between the twins. After years of watching it, I see it now. Her as Annie she looks slightly younger than Lindsay as Hallie.
if you want another Lindsay Lohan movie that was part of my childhood era would be Herbie: Fully Loaded (2005), But before that you need to watch The Love Bug (1968), Herbie Rides Again (1974), Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo (1977), and Herbie Goes Bananas (1980), then in-between Bananas and fully loaded was a tv movie The Love Bug (1997) that was an attempt as a reboot/sequel that most people have forgotten about. Loved the video as always!
This was a childhood fav of mine ❤it always reminds me of my papa because he adored this movie and he always loved to watch it with me anytime he saw that it was on tv 🥰
I love this movie but I prefer the original version! But the whole premise has always irked me! I’ve never thought it was right to split twins or multiples up especially because of divorce! And not telling them they had a twin was completely wrong! RIP Natasha Richardson! She sustained a head injury when she fell during a beginner ski lesson!😢😢😢
Both this movie and the 1961 movie is based on a German book from the 20s called 'Lottie and Lisa' (because the mother's name is Lisalotte) or 'Die Doppelte Zwillinge'. Lisa curls her hair, has a temper and is always getting up to mischief, Lottie plaits her hair very tightly and her mother nicknames her 'My little housekeeper' because she knows how to cook and clean the house. If they wear the same hairstyle it's easy to figure out (or was in the beginning) who is who, just pull the girls hair and whoever slaps you straight across the face in response is Lisa.
Not quite correct. The book is called "Das doppelte Lottchen" (Literally: "The double Lottie"), and was published in 1949, though a draft had already been proposed for a movie in 1942. Erich Kästner was a much beloved German author, mostly known for his childrens' books, many of which have been adapted in movies. "Das doppelte Lottchen" was already made into a move in 1950, with Kästner himself writing the script and starring as narrator. It may be a bit slow for today's audiences, but a very good nostalgic movie. The book has also been adapted in 1994 (Charlie und Louise - Das Doppelte Lottchen) - my personal favorite - and again in 2017 (Das Doppelte Lottchen). As much as I like the american "Parent Trap" movies - both the 1961 and 1998 versions - the german versions have a more grounded feel to it... and as much as I respect both the technical expertise and the ability of the american actresses to pull of a double role... I prefer the casting of real twins that all the german movies have. If you have the option to watch a german movie, or manage to find a dubbed version... or even get the (very good, I have heard) newly translated book ("The Parent Trap", by Anthea Bell)... I can only highly recommend giving them a try.
Thinking of doing the 1961 movie as well? Just as cute - and it's where the 'Let's Get Together (Yeah Yeah Yeah)' song Hallie was singing on her way to the lift came from. Can't decide which 'We're divorced but I still love you ' declaration from which movie is sweeter, this movie where he reveals that he tracked down the bottle of wine they drank on their wedding night, or the 1961 movie where he goes through a list of little things that probably annoyed him when they were married but that he now misses and adding "It's no fun having a clothes closet all to myself. And it's no fun swearing if you're not there to act like you're shocked by it.....Nothing's any fun without you."
I "loved" this movie. Dennis Quaid Lindsay Lohan and especially Natasha Richardson were amazing. The thing is, though, I don't like gaps in consistency. Chemistry developing between Jesse and Martin that quickly is outrageous. I've never seen the original, and maybe this version is just trying to stay true, but the casting director blew it for me. Other than that (glaring) detail, this movie was awesome.
Ngl, Lindsay Lohan is the first actress Im a fan of, she can sing, dance, act, me and my dad really thought she can play the guitar for Freaky Friday when her finger obviously not moving too lol, I wish I can help her when she go through the "you know"💕💕
This was the very first movie I saw in theaters when I was 5 years old, so it was a huge part of my childhood. I will forever love this movie. There was just something about the late 90’s movies…👌🏻
I grew up a fan of the original parent trap with Haley Mills, Brian Keith, and Maureen O'Hara. I did like the Lyndsay Lohan version, but I will always be partial to the original.
I like both. The Haley Mills trio of movies will always be worth watching though. I used to literally alternate watching this one and the Haley mills version
There is "The Parent Trap" from the 50s, a great movie, too. It's based on a book by Erich Kestner named "Louisalottie" (in German), in English " Double Lottie". Great book!
I love this movie so so much! Also apparently Lindsay Lohan was allergic to the horses and kept sneezing during that scene with the horses. This was the first parent trap movie I saw and I didn’t even know that this was a remake until a couple of years ago. I also thought the twins were actual twins and when my mum told me that it’s just one girl. Never believed her thought because I always said it’s not possible for it to be one person. Then I think it was when I was 14 or 13 when I actually believed her and realized that she was telling the truth. Every time I watched this I would always say I want a twin sister still do want a twin sister but it’s way to late for that. 😆 I think you two would like the Disney 1960s Swiss Family Robinson. Saw it on Disney+ a while ago and it’s really good. Love the videos! You two do an amazing job!
I love this movie but legitimately, worst parents award. They were literally so petty they were willing to never see one of their kids ever again while also denying the other a relationship with their other parent and their twin.... like..... come on.
Pretty sure this was based on a thing that actually did happen in the past. Obviously not in the 90s but there was a book from I think the 40s and I read somewhere that it legitimately was a thing that would happen and was likely meant to be commentary on that.
Pretty sure Kevin MacAlister wouldn't get a chance to set up all of his traps before he got ko'd by Hallie and Annie. If he got time to set up, though, it's probably even
i love this film...it's amazing how much of a classic it is after all of these years... The reason she wasn't eating much is because American food portions are much bigger, she isn't used to that. "i gave you a fright" is a very english phrase..not something a girl raised in America would say.
Fun fact the original of all those parents trap is actually based on the German Novel and TV black and white times "Das doppelte Lottchen" by Erich Kästner book released in 1949 first movie in German in Germany 1950. Now think again if you complain about the next re-make of something "oh so great"of your own childhood. So as a German who had luck her country dubs or she spoke English by then I know of The 1950s Version the original The 1960s in the USA The 1990s German Version "Charlotte & Louise" The 1995 Version with Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen (I was always kinda upset that the USA only made them doublegageingers the one time they actually used a real set of twin-girls) but oh well. This 1998 Version and again in Germany they produced an audiobook as if the first book was read and kind of circle back to the original names in 2017 again. Like you can count on a new version every decade they find a Girl-Twin pair intrested in or already acting this is going to pop up again. But I have to admit the USA versions are often a tiny bit cooler especially for not that young Kids. ^^
Other people have mentioned that this is a remake of a Hayley Mills Disney movie (the Olson Twins also made a ripoff called “It Takes Two”). Lindsay Lohan did another Disney remake: Freaky Friday (the original starred Jodie Foster - yes, people often forget it, but Jodie Foster was a Disney child star). The former did decently, but not spectacular, and the last was kind of a flop.
An answer for the fun question, Macaulay Culkin from Home Alone 100%. His traps caused actual damage, while the twins from the Parent Trap didn't cause actual lasting damage.
Shed had a sip of wine because she learnt it from her dad who owns the huge wine ranch . She can tell also if wine is good pr not like her dad who expert for wine business.
Lindsay Lohan is really exceptional as an actress. Lisa Ann Walter (Chessy) said that Lohan's talent was almost annoying. A lot of the "twins" shots demanded that she remember her timing and her marks so she could repeat the scene. It was very technical work, and Lohan had no trouble with it.

Parent trap is indeed most about the divorced and how the parents are been stays on marriage and their relationship did not changed to lose love and they are both no insecurity because they both build themselves a successful in business and live life most is all works and kids grew up from being independent to study hard and live with parent rules with love and kindness. They are rich but not mean to be cruel to anyones life people live not rich and dress up not as good and glamour like they do are. By the way i had watched that film year back its been on VCD DVD it was very entertaining and it can get you out of control to cry when the parents are finally sees each other without knowing how and how their servants are very much trustful for having them sinced their kids was ever born and yet they were born their parents has them like a family for them.
Lindsay just became a mom herself and is doing amazing. I am so happy for her!
Rest In Peace to Natasha Richardson
There’s a reason why this is one of, if not my favorite movie of all time. It’s such a comfort for me, makes me value my friends and family, and makes me emotional every viewing without fail. It might be a cheesy kids’ movie to some, but I absolutely adore this film and it’s simple messages. Great reaction! 🖤
You should also watch the original Parent Trap with Hailey Mills, it’s really good as well…Another great 90s movie with “twins” is It Takes Two with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen playing identical strangers that meet at a camp as well 😂😂
The Parent Trap ‘98 was a great movie.
Also, I look forward to your Home Alone 2 reaction! It’s my all-time favorite Christmas movie since childhood.
This is a cute and adorable movie. But dang separating identical twins…heck nah.
Right ?
The other camp counselor is Janice from friends
Still reckon that was incredibly selfish of the parents - splitting up twins so that they wouldn't have to talk to each other. Heard rumours that in the first few months at least twins and triplets get distraught if they sense they've been separated.
Loved the reaction! This was always one of my favorite movies as a kid. Along with It Takes Two with the Olsen twins, The Secret Garden, and A little Princess. Can't wait for the next one
Oh and I know Meredith from Superstar, as Evian.
A Little Princess is such a cute movie!!!
It takes two is a classic. But looking back on it I feel SO bad for those girls they were run into the ground their entire childhood constantly working.
Your right that girl is in fact Kat Graham from Vampire Diaries. You can tell it's her when she smiles as well lol
Annie and Hallie were named after the director's daughters. Hallie Meyers-Shyer played one of Annie's bunkmates.
The piercing 😂 my ears were tame, my nose was mild, and the nips were a different story haha
Great first film for Lindsay Lohan! She had already worked on television since 1992, but this was the role that made her a star.
I watched this everyday for a few months when I was younger. I also thought Lindsay was a twin for real 😂
In both this one and the original, the dog could tell the difference. And watch the other. Also, "It Takes Two" with the Olsen twins.
How the butlers and granddad know there is something is off about the daughters and the parents didn't mean they don't spend enough with their children
the mother(Natasha Richardson) died years ago and she used 2 b married 2 Liam Leeson. Also, Bonnie was Jennifer Anniston's sister in Bruce Almighty.
I absolutely love that you genuinely enjoyed this movie! Truly a great movie, I’ve watched it so many times. Keep the gems coming!
This is such a good movie! Fun fact, the actresses who play Chessy(Lisa Ann Walter) and Meredith Blake(Elaine Hendrix) are actually very good friends in real life and are both hillarious!
Omg I wish more people could react to this movie but I’m so glad you guys never seen it!!!
She has, I have not but thanks for watching!
Ah one of comfort movies ♥ yes this was Lindsay Lohan's first movie. Might I suggest you react to "Junior" with Arnold Scrwartzenneger, Danny DeVito and Emma Thompson? Very sweet movie.
Such a classic!!!! One of my all time favorites. Love your reaction to this as well; glad you were able to watch😁
How crazy. I was randomly searching for reactions to this just yesterday lol. It's been my favorite comfort movie since it came out. So excited for this. 💕
See? I knew you were so I was like … let me help the homie Kat out real quick 💪🏽🤣
Thanks for watching !!
@@mrflickswatches lol! Well I appreciate it. 😅 And of course. 💕
This movie is still my favorite movie honestly. I use to rent this on vcr every weekend as a child. Iconic
Building memories is always important!
@@Groffili thanks :)
Yesss! Childhood movie for me too! Glad you liked it 🤩
21:46 Martin is me the entire time I'm watching this movie. 🥺😭
On my Top 3 of "feel-good movie". The part where Chessie knows was a masterclass.
Ohmygosh Brian your faceeeeee every time Meredith was talking LMFAO. Same though 🤣🤣
There is "The Parent Trap" from the 50s, a great movie, too. It's based on a book by Erich Kestner named "Louisalottie" (in German), in English " Double Lottie". Great book!
The classic version is always a classic and worth a watch
Freaky Friday is also a remake
Yeah she has to have a twin somewhere lol I refuse to believe it’s just her lol
I love this movie but legitimately, worst parents award. They were literally so petty they were willing to never see one of their kids ever again while also denying the other a relationship with their other parent and their twin.... like..... come on.
Pretty sure this was based on a thing that actually did happen in the past. Obviously not in the 90s but there was a book from I think the 40s and I read somewhere that it legitimately was a thing that would happen and was likely meant to be commentary on that.
Sad note: The actress who played the British mother of the twin's was in a skiing accident and died a few years ago. She was married to Liem Nissan
Nissan?
Rocks in the backpack, oldest ranger trick in the book. LOL.
Pretty sure Kevin MacAlister wouldn't get a chance to set up all of his traps before he got ko'd by Hallie and Annie. If he got time to set up, though, it's probably even
One of the camp councillors was played by "Maggie Wheeler" who plays Janice in "Friends". 🤔
My favorite meme from this movie is the scene at 8:00 with the caption "YOU HAVE THE SAME FUCKING FACE!!!"
There is a German version of the story with two blonde teenagers, which is also very good!
And a british one
You should watch the orginal 60s version to compare, I personally love both but enjoy the father and mother relationship in the 60s movie a lot more
i love this film...it's amazing how much of a classic it is after all of these years...
The reason she wasn't eating much is because American food portions are much bigger, she isn't used to that.
"i gave you a fright" is a very english phrase..not something a girl raised in America would say.
Heavy and light sleeper. Can wake up easily from my parents but be in deep sleep and sleep through alarm
So as a German who had luck her country dubs or she spoke English by then I know of
The 1950s Version the original
The 1960s in the USA
The 1990s German Version "Charlotte & Louise"
The 1995 Version with Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen (I was always kinda upset that the USA only made them doublegageingers the one time they actually used a real set of twin-girls) but oh well.
This 1998 Version
and again in Germany they produced an audiobook as if the first book was read
and kind of circle back to the original names in 2017 again.
There is an original It Takes Two
This story has been retold several times. I like the first one and this one best, very sweet.
Lindsay looks so different now. Btw watch falling for Christmas! If just came out and is great!
My son is 2 and cant say dada yet. His mother doesnt let me see him enough
A similar movie is It Takes Two staring the Olsen twins
When she breaks in french in anger is the most hilarious part ... gets me everytime 😂
An answer for the fun question, Macaulay Culkin from Home Alone 100%. His traps caused actual damage, while the twins from the Parent Trap didn't cause actual lasting damage.
"You have something you want to share with the class?" That's funny because Chessy was in Abbott Elementary.
Shed had a sip of wine because she learnt it from her dad who owns the huge wine ranch . She can tell also if wine is good pr not like her dad who expert for wine business.
3:08 Fun Fact! That's Maggie Wheeler A.K.A. Janice from Friends!!! 🎉

AND that's how long that story has been (re-)told I think at this point you can easily count it as a fairytale 😂 😂
I did do fencing in college 🤺 It's a lot of fun, but in real fencing, as soon as you do something with "movie flare" you get stabbed. 😅
I used to think she had a twin too
I would love for you guys to react to It Takes Two satring The Olson Twins it is The Olson Twins Take on the on The Parent Trap.
I've been watching Abbott Elementary. It took me too long to recognize Lisa Ann Walter from this movie.
You should watch it takes two is just as funny too. It has the Olsen twins when they were younger.
Natasha Richardson R.I.P loved forever. Lisa Ann Walter had a crush on you then even bigger now.
McCauley (Home Alone) vs Dennis (Dennis the Menace) vs Junior(Problem Child) who would win?
I actually never seen Dennis! So I can’t partake in this lol
@@mrflickswatches WHAT!!!!! For shame😂😂😂😂well that needs to me rectified IMMEDIATELY!!!! Please 😇😇😇😇🤣🤣🤣🤣
It’s really hard to say😂
1998 I was like 8 years old when this came out; 🧐
Parent trap is indeed most about the divorced and how the parents are been stays on marriage and their relationship did not changed to lose love and they are both no insecurity because they both build themselves a successful in business and live life most is all works and kids grew up from being independent to study hard and live with parent rules with love and kindness. Dont know about you guys but the film is plays back year of 1447-1448.
You should see the original Parent Trap by Disney 1961.
The girls fight was more brutal I loved it
The boy at the camp is Linsey’s younger brother.
One of the very few remakes that was better than the original.
The boy left stranded at the girls camp is played by Mike Lohan.. younger brother of Lindsay
Ohh shoot really ? That’s dope! I love to read comments about facts on the movies we didn’t know !
I like the remake. But I prefer the 1961 original. Ya it's 20 years older than me but I guess my mom put it on for me when I was a kid but I have loved it ever since. But the Lindsey Lohan remake is pretty good as well.
