  • A small experiment I've always wanted to try out. Could be smoother, but it at least works.

This is something that I feel would make a major difference in some of the later Classic titles, especially in the case of CD '93, Sonic 03: Part 0I, and Chaotix, that is if the use of Dynamic Palettes can help make the fading of the depth of the water look and feel a little more seamless; Chaotix would definitely be very interesting to experiment with on this, assuming that it can make use of a hefty amount of the 32768 colours offered, the only obvious downside is that it doesn't have a proper Underwater area to work with (if there is data for it still in the Retail Build or one of the Prototypes, then wishfully it could be injected to Amazing Arena and Marina Madness somehow) but I wouldn't be surprised if the code for its colour cycling could be utilized to improve this concept and make it more efficient in older titles.

why do you call sonic 3 that

@@AbsnormalCoolest "Part 0I" is a direct reference to the European Boxart, itself literally having the words "Part One" imprinted in Green Text further down on its Poster variant in future reprints (of the Poster, anyway; units of the game never had this); this was how I was originally introduced to the PAL version's assets, after having only known of the NTSC~U version up to 2008, my early Sonic Retro binges left me very intrigued about the naming and marketing differences across every region and instances such as this have interestingly made it easier to help others distinguish when talking about certain re~releases and Upper Versions through use of their Subtitle ("Part 0I" for Original Retail, "& Knuckles" for the Upper Version and Bugfix, "(S&K Collection)" for the I997 port, and "Complete Collection" for the 20I3 ROM hack).

This is actually a cool concept ngl, years ago someone made a Sonic 1 port for the 32x so I could easily see this as a effect that the 32x version could have

How to make it torture: decrease acceleration and increase momentum the further into the water you are, and have it so sonic runs out of air faster the deeper he is.

      That can be arranged.

We need an underwater arrangement in the same style of Sonic Origins now to go along with this feature.

I love this concept. It works very well. Also, is there a discord for the Sonic Debut thing that a friend told me about? They told me that you created that ROM hack.

The still screenshot I'd usually do won't describe the contents of the video clearly.
