I personally think a few good things would be like: Knuckles and Tails cannot use their abilities, but Knuckles’ jump height is normal instead of lower. Hiders can run around, but have a speed cap, right before the proper run animation, spindashing also has a speed cap.
I was thinking about having both players use the same character to balance out the gameplay. Player 1 decides their character and player 2 is automatically assigned to the same character.
