Amy and Harry have been attacked. James finds out why, He finds Amy alright, but Harry is injured. He takes Harry's car, he encountered Resurrected monsters, including many's favorite boss: Magician Type 0. But once again, The magician failed.

I like how Magician is so jaded to the fact that he’s going to be shot up by two AMS agents (he alludes to this by saying “Either I get you, or the Emperor will.”) and by the fact that he’s got all the foot-long worms flailing out of his body. I think it’s hilarious. The guy’s probably got a sense of humor.

guy with chainsaw is the only boss that scared me to death when i was a kid, his movements are weird especially when he has little hp left, he becomes faster
Strength is what happens when you give leatherface Coke, steroids and a big ass chainsaw and tell him to go nuts and have fun
that looping chainsaw audio is what disturbs me like holy shit I can't even focus

He definitely did when he called him his masterpiece.
My point was that there were creatures in the HOD games that would usually kill a human in mere seconds and the fact that they can just be taken out with a normal pistol was pretty underwhelming

He's practically immortal in the sense that he keeps reviving
Magician is weakest in HOD 2. In HOD 1 he had far more health, need way more bullets' to get damaged and was way faster and his final attack he threw the fire balls upwards and each would hit you you had to shoot them all down before you could attack him again.
In HOD 2 he easily gets damaged, has lower health and his final attack he throws the fireballs down and only the middle ones might hit you, and you can shoot him while he is throwing them down killing him quickly.

No kidding I lost to him first time and I had to ask a family member for help to end that nightmare for good with a real good team up.
As someone who played The House of the Dead, when I finally played HotD2 and Magician came down, no lies: same reaction as James, both in excitement as Magician is undeniably a fan favorite and also of dread because flashbacks to Magician as THE final boss in HotD. Like, "do we really have to again??"

The one thing I don't get is; why didn't Goldman do anything besides revive the magician to help him, for god's sake he didn't even try to remove the maggots on him.
after HOTD Goldman found the battle damaged magician with the diseased creator Dr Curien i believe goldman did turn dr curien into the wheel of fate while repairing the magician but unfortunately james was close to goldman so he released the unfinished battle damaged magician to slow down james thats why in HOTD2 you see the magician with worms and tentacles coming out his body.
Cool fact: in Goldman's headquarter on the floor of the outyard you can see the successor's ( World ) face which was revealed in hotd 4 and james sacrificed him self to kill the world😢
Even in the top level ( Goldman's office ) you can see the faces of future bosses in future games on the floor
Btw the world was bio engineered below the floor of the Goldman's headquarter outyard so that's why the face of the world was on the floor of Goldman's headquarter outyard

I'm a lot more familiar with House of the Dead 4's late game than this one, that game was just at more of the arcades I spent a lot of time and money at. It's pretty cool to see just how much stuff they referenced and repolished from this game for that one.

I remember beating Magician, my dad always struggled against him (especially the first section of his battle, he would ALWAYS get hit). Then I gave it a few shots, beat him and got into the final level, where I got my ass handed to me (until another day, where mid-final stage, my friends came by to visit me (it's the Wii version), so I had to tell them to wait because I was re-fighting The Tower before fighting the Emperor again and finally I won the game).

i remember playing this when i was a kid in the comp when i only have 1 life left and had no credits left fighting the magician, it got to be the hardest gameplay i ever did in my life which i still don't forget.

I hope the intro of the Magician boss fight for the remake (I'm sure it will happen) will be this one because there's another version so cringy that it looks like something someone took from Google Translations and called it a day.
This magician has so much character and games of this era did have tons of it! I was so disappointed with the design and voice acting in the PS3 version! I wish they would remake this game with HDR graphics using the same designs and updated rendering... the voice acting needs improvement but the idea and suspense is nothing short of amazing.

@@Gawayno the remake was alright and it had a lot of pros bro… but in all honesty the creativity disappeared. The magician fight for example in the remake was pretty average. 1. He lost his lines… (these lines were more suspenseful) and his attacks lacked the depth and creativity of the original. There was no colour shift in his movement (signalling what type of attack it would be [melee / projectile]) the fireball attack was incorporated throughout the entire fight rather than the end (which took away from the intensity of the battle) and in all seriousness the attacks were slow and could be considered walking pace compared to this. The new remake is an enjoyable game and the upgraded graphics and rendering are a nice touch but in its current state I would give it 7/10 (good score) but the voice acting, lines, attack rotation and speed let the game down and it could have been a masterful remake imo.

Imagine if they made this game into a theme park ride. Build out all the sets then add in the zombies with AR helmets like the mario kart ride. Before you enter the ride they give you the AR helmets and their is a pre section where you walk through the halls and zombies attack you then you enter the car and go through a rough interpretation of one of the levels. Maybe the boat level!

The penultimate boss is literally harder than the final boss, up till now I still couldn't no dmg clear the HOTD 2 version of him, same goes for wheel of fate. I could pretty much no dmg clear all other boss. Note: Didn't play Scarlet Dawn yet cuz no arcade in my place has it.
Sounds about right, my arcade in the downtown Chicago area has one, I've yet to beat it, but maybe I could get around to that when I"m there, hopefully we get a PC collection of the House of the Dead game.
