I'm in the unique position of having ancestors who fought both sides in ww2, (Indian BTW). Surprisingly, they both held that the Axis were less evil, and it only appears this way because they lost the war.
They fought and died for their homes and families and we should be prouder of them! Even if the regime was evil. Btw, most German families have some ancestors, who fought in wwII. It's more of an exeption, if they didn't. Not like you had much of a choice anyway

Not even my grandfather (which is 87) fought in ww2, and sometimes he tells me stories about his time in the "hitlerjugend". Please dont think he was/is a nazi, when you werent in the hitlerjugend that time you got big problems. He told me about the songs they had to sing and so on. I always get tears in my eyes when i realise then how well i have it. ( Sorry for my bad english im german). My greatuncle (Joseph Kumpfmüller, you can look on wikipedia) was a priest in Augsburg (for 19 years) , and he was an enemy of hitler, but the Sturmabteilung (SA) made him stop fighting hitler. So im very proud of my familiy and i think theres no reason any more (except from the AfD and the NPD) to call the germans nazis. Im very happy that here isnt such a comment. Thank you very much for reading! My grandfather lives directly next to us, so i can visit him every day and watch tv or something with him! God, therefore im very thankful! Have a nice day!

I'm in the unique position of having ancestors who fought both sides in ww2, (Indian BTW). Surprisingly, they both held that the Axis were less evil, and it only appears this way because they lost the war.
They fought and died for their homes and families and we should be prouder of them! Even if the regime was evil.
Btw, most German families have some ancestors, who fought in wwII. It's more of an exeption, if they didn't. Not like you had much of a choice anyway
