I first watched this man's videos when he was uploading Pokemon Snakewood and playing cod 4 remastered, to see him go from around 30k to over 340k subscribers is amazing.

The fact that someone can do this from the comfort of their home and a Multi Billion dollar company has never even come close to something this complete and challenging. They really have become a shadow of their former self
To be fair, none of the mainline games were made to be exceptionally difficult. I think only gen 5 had a hard mode option after you beat it the first time around but could be wrong. Essentially the franchise has really just been catering more to kids playing than the long term fans who would be more into that whole difficulty aspect. It would be great if they had different difficulties depending on skill and experience and stuff but I dont see them doing that unfortunately. If their next game is like sword and shield, also with paid dlc, then it's basically dead and I'll probably only play rom hacks like this haha
@@karierainey4435 the same argument could be had for games like Mario and Zelda yet they’ve built their games in a way to be played by casual players and people looking for a challenge. Another game, rocket league, is a simple game concept with a huge skill ceiling that kids seem to gravitate towards and sink literally thousands of hours into trying to get to the more challenging and difficult levels. Kids aren’t stupid, quit treating them like they can’t figure it out or that they also don’t want the challenge and making excuses for GF lack of innovation to adapt with both their older and younger player base.

Few people hopped into games like GoW or Dark souls and did the hardest difficulties right off the bat, you build up to it on your replays through them. Radical red is what Pokémon could be if the devs cared about their veterans of the series.
yeah no i think prefer the mainline games being easier than this. pokemon was _never_ supposed to be as complicated as radical red is, we just got older. i've been playing pokemon since yellow came out. i'm also playing this rom on easy mode and i'm still struggling.
I’m playing along also with the randomizer on and my starter choices are Buneary, Zoroark, and Empoleon. I found it kind of funny I got your favorite Pokémon as a starter choice.
Hey! Iv been trying to play this. DO I Use a GBA Emulator or Citra ? O_O! Please send Help LOL! When i open it on VisualBoy it loads the beginning but then says WARNING! and won't load anything after that.
This game is really interesting even if it's really really hard, you need alot of time to research for better sets, for pokemon counters. And lots and lots and lots of training and grinding for items, because the gyms have perfect IV pokemons. I recommend to not waste too much money for pokemon that you are not sure of, because you need money in mid to late game. It's really really interesting tho
@@ashwinchettri thats coz there's a level cap and your pokemon have reached the level cap, which is why they are gaining 1 exp per pokemon defeated. to incease the level cap you have beat the current gym leader pending. join the discord server to talk about your adventures, gain access to information regarding the rom hack, make strategies with other people or just to talk in general
Wolfey be careful and use the dexnav wisely, using the dexnav you can find a specific mon and the dexnav tells you the ability, also use the stat scanner always to check ivs and evs because the game is very competitive and hard. Also think always of coverage moves, predicting the AI is very important in this game
@@MSSenpai03 I think most of the difficulty from players come from the soft level cap. Where in Emerald Kaizo you can over level to be up to ten levels ahead (or more) of your opponent with grinding, Radical Red forces you to stay within a level higher of the gym leader's highest pokemon. (so if Brock has a level 14 onix as his max, your max cap is 15). This way, it becomes less about stomping through with the perfect mons and more about strategizing on an even playing field, which most 'casual players' don't like to do. (not using that term as derogatory, just how it is)

Just started this game(randomized) because I saw this video. My Pokémon at Viridian Forest are Kadabra, Wartortle, and Pignite. Looking forward to this series.
Just finished it now, without using mega evolutions. My IV's were also horrible, EV's mostly too, this made it a true challenge. Went with the same team from the start until the end. God some boss fights were insanely hard. But finishing it was so satisfying, I feel like I just finished a triathlon, so released and happy, lol My team: Tornadus - Wise glasses Thundurus - Focus sash (which I often changed and gave whoever needed it most for a boss fight) Snorlax -Leftovers Tyranitar -Softsand Grimmsnarl -Rocky helmet Celebi -Leftovers -Celebi was the MVP with agent power boosts, it saved me several times. And after 1 or 2 lucky boosts, it already outsped most boss pokemon and was just not killable with giga drain and leftovers. -Snorlax was tanky, has so much hp and hit like a truck with Giga Impact (one shot most boss pokemon, even mega ev.) Also HiHorsepower and Wood hammer makes it perfect against ice and fire types, combined with it's ability "Thick Fat" , it is SO FRIKKING USEFUL in this rom hack, you can't imagine. Combined with its already great spec. def, you tank some of the most powerful fire and ice pokemon with ease. That's why I gave up on amnesia for more type coverage. And you got leftovers for recovery. It even has a mega stone! Got it as a munchlax at the beginning. After many fights and some grooming it evolved. Tyranitars sandstorm was a nice counter against focus sash and other weather effects Also it is tanky and hits hard with Stone Edge and Earthquake Grimmsnarl: Was decent, learns also useful fairy moves, even though it was slow and often got one shot, it helped me out a lot against some gyms. Tornadus was fast, outsped most pokemons, so it kept Air Slash, to flinch too dangerous pokemon which would one shot any of mine. Also dark pulse for type coverage and flinching. Hurricane is a great move, it often confuses. Confuse and flinch shenanigans work well in this rom. Thundurus was also fast, could set it up with nasty plot and just like Tornadus, it had a move with which it could attack both pokemon in double battles.
If you use a browser like Google then it's not creepy. That's how google works, they store your internet history so it can then recommend you things you've browsed for.

Hey Voltsy, after you get through this challenge, Pokémon The Last Fire Red is on par. TLFR includes z-moves and some map changes. There are more rivals including Ash himself! The sprites are all just as good, and there are some minor changes to the map. Worth checking out!

Emulators are in grey legality so creators don't usually talk about that stuff publicly. I use VBA as an emulator. You have to patch a [legally acquired] Fire Red ROM with the patch file for the fan game. I believe the patch program is called LIPS. Hope that helps.
I figured out a way to get a ton of exp. you can find audinos in the wild and you can use that radar thing to find them in the grass. so you go to the place they are use the radar thing and grind off of them and get tons of exp until you hit the current level limit. Thats what ive been doing

DO NOT DO A NUZLOCKE RUN!!! This is a game where, excluding the first two gyms, the gym leaders and onward create competitive teams complete with EV and IV training. Doing a nuzlocke is a death wish
If u didn't set any randomizer then u get charmander, squirtle and bulbasaur as a starter but if u set any randomizer hard or easy then u got different starter every time

important thing to nout typhlosion in particular has blazing aura gives him priority one fire atk that is the important and you should remember this

If u didn't set any randomizer then u get charmander, squirtle and bulbasaur as a starter but if u set any randomizer hard or easy then u got different starter every time

My starter was munchlax. So many pokemon in this game...and none are easy to catch.
This game just needs field effects and it would be just about at Reborn's difficulty level. it's frustrating but it's great.

HeroVoltsy if you don't like how the randomizer, can you change it back. Like have 3 starters back, etc...
No, the randomizer will be off or on permanently depending on what you chose. Only way to change it is to start a new game
Dudh after watching this video I just started playing radical red and I randomised and the first three starters were bulbasaur became totodile squirtle became volcarona charmander became morgrem can anybody tell me which Pokemon I should choose
I have already chosen Morgrem before you even replied because I couldn't wait
Luckily I got a thundurus in the randomizer and it was a key to most battles

I had the choice to choose between lugia, Alakazam and Rockruff i had to choose rockruff because Alakazam had teleport only and Lugia had whirlwind only 😭😭😭
