You are a fun guest! I used to go to quite a few conventions years ago. Worked with a friend in the Dealers' room of many Star Trek shows. I do miss those days.
Have you heard any of the Eighth doctor audio adventures? They star Paul McGann and they are great! Not sure how many they did. I heard the first season. And I bet it is very fun to be on this show! The cast sure seems to be having fun making the show!
@@rays2729 I so enjoy the Big Finish Audio Adventures, and they are pretty epic! Paul McGann gets to be the great Doctor he was meant to be in these! And yes, the cast is a lot of fun on and off camera!
So great having all these great having all these Bay Area Celebrities in the area! Keep up the Great work guys! I enjoy watching “Creature Features” on RUclips!
I never understood the disrespect this movie has always gotten. Think of the love and creativity it took to build and animate that big bird; the colors, the alien ugliness, the way the nostrils flared and the eyes blinked, the sound it made, no cgi, no stop motion, just great puppetry 40 years before Jim Henson. Oh, and even the science was reasonable! Let's show this film the love it deserves!
Your intro is AWESOME!! This is such a nostalgic film for me - it was my very first horror movie! My dad took the family out to the movies, my brother and I bundled in our pajamas. Dad was not known for his good sense!, I guess I was about 7 and my brother was 6. Obviously an inappropriate film for kiddos, but I remember the experience fodly (with shivers).
these are great old movies. I watched these when I was a kid and they were still rather new. On Saturday night channel 11 would have them on chiller theater. The host of that show was in night of the living dead which was filmed near where I lived. There were local news folks doing the news in the movie so even with the low quality zombies it was very well done. Creature features and MST3000 are becoming my favorites on you tube. Thanks for your channel it sure beats broadcast TV and most of today's poorly acted movies.
Where are you do make some good movies I have started watching your shows that big crawl now and I love your movies always will love them keep making some more Mississippi
The bad special effects aside, this is not a terrible movie. The actors seem to have made an effort to do a good job and the production did fairly well with the sets given the limited budget. I also just have to mention the quality of this copy of the film. The last time I watched the movie, it was in poor shape, very grainy and sometimes the image shook. Thank you Creature Features!
*I really enjoyed this movie. Thanks !!!* I actually felt sorry for the bird when its baby (egg) was killed and at the end of the movie, when it was killed. *It wasn't evil. It was just trying to survive. But, its survival was at odds with humankind's survival.*
I did too! It was free snowcone night so mom and dad piled us into the car to go see it. It was a fun outing, at least what I remember of it! And I've always loved the movie.
In an interview, Jeff Morrow said that no one in the cast saw the title monster until they went to the film's premiere in Morrow's home town. Producer Sam Katzman had contracted with a low-budget model-maker in Mexico City to construct the "Giant Claw," and no one in the cast or crew had any idea it would come out looking as bizarre as it did. Morrow said the audience roared with laughter every time the monster made an appearance. He wound up slinking out of the theater in embarrassment before the film was over so no one who knew him would recognize him.
The 2 Weatherby rifles I believe are 300 magnums not 378 Magnum. Bores don't look large enough for a 378. The 378 has a 26 inch No 2 or 3 barrel contour. One rifle barrel is 24 inch no 1 contour. Roy brought out the 378 in 1953 on the Schultz and Larson action. The mark 5 was brought out in 1959. Movie 1957. Collected Weatherbys for 40 years. Weatherby gun nut.

This promo for Creature Features is a great mash-up of 2 Hitchcock films: "The Birds" and "North By Northwest." "The Giant Claw" is one of my guilty pleasures. So is "Earth Vs The Spider."
Cool ass episode tonight Creature Features!!! Got to see the lady in blue and Servo!!!👥👥 If Gonzo, Sam the Eagle and Big Bird had some weird thing going on, the giant claw would be the thing that comes out of that, but hyped up on pcp.
Close up of the bird's head as it flies towards the camera--I never fail to burst out laughing at that point. I wonder how many times they use the word "battleship" in this movie. True story. - Poor Jeff Morrow. Premiere was shown in his home town. He had no idea what the bird was going to look like. Half way through he snuck out of the theater in embarrassment.
This is a second opinion. You are the best thing on television. A story I heard was that when Jeff Morrow snuck out of the theater, he went to a bar and got drunk. You three are the best horror host to come along in a very long time. The giant claw had some character development with a strong female lead, inspite of the Muppet from hell. A rare thing in 1950's giant monster movies. It's hard to take seriously when the woman screams and then show that goggle eyed puppet.
Anyone remember the original Outer Limits 1964 episode titled, "Cold Hands, Warm Heart" starring William Shatner? Well in it this creature in the chamber was terrifying the astronaut played by Shatner. The dopey marionette puppet in this movie reminded me of that hand puppet in that episode, with Shatner grimacing his face trying to act terrified of it. lol They must have got the idea for that puppet creature from this 1957 movie. Both puppet's silliness due to low budget restraints.
He asks him if there was a ufo wouldn't radar pick it up? The answer to that UFOs have the technology to avoid radar. But the giant attack chicken is another story
I read somewhere. the actors never saw the monster while filming, when they attended the premiere, they were so disgusted, they walked out. the movie later became a joke up there with plan 9 from outer space
