This show was always a wonderful treat to watch when it came on TV.
It is one of my favorites!
Thanks, CF
Great 1950s Sci-Fi film! Many thanks, Creature Features! Paul Frees' alien voice sounds great -- quivery and strange. 👽🛸
I found your program about a week ago. You all have quickly become my nightly bedtime guilty pleaure. ❤❤❤ I see theres a lot for me to catch up on❤😊
Thanks, Creature Features! The late 1950s is my fav era of sci-fi flicks, and “Earth vs. the Flying Saucers” is at the top of its genre. Fun Fact: the voices of the aliens in this movie were recorded by an uncredited voice actor named Paul Frees (he was also the voice of John Lennon and George Harrison in the Beatles cartoon series that aired in the mid ‘60s.) The speed control on the tape player was turned up and down real fast by hand while the tape was playing back to give the audio a wavering effect.
Paul Frees is the voice of the Haunted Mansion and other Disneyland attractions!
He was also the original voice of Ludwig von Drake, as well as the narrator of a lot of Disney's educational films.@@bsharp3281
He was also the voice of Ben Grimm (The Thing) in the 1967 Fantastic Four cartoon
You’re still batting a thousand. This is an all time Harryhausen classic! 🖤♥️🖤
Ray Harryhausen and flying saucers. The perfect mix.
Back in the late 80s - early 90s there was a B-film festival in Montreal where this was shown one night along with '20 millions miles to Earth'. That evening my friends and I had much fun, as did the whole audience !
I love this film!! This is one of my all-time-favorites!!!
Ray Harryhausen was my childhood hero and I knew him personally very well in the last 15 years of his life. He'd be delighted by this podcast!
And Ray harryhausen's dad is the one that created the saucers.
@@usa3rdworldcountry yes, but that was nothing for his Hollywood machinist father who built the ball and socket armatures of his creatures. I had what may gave been a very rare priviledge during his life: he let me repeatedly and carefully pose the skeleton that was used in both 7th voyage if Sinbad and Jason and the Argonauts and after 40 years it was astonishing: the joints (exposed, hard rubber skeleton) were whisper light to the touch, moved like melted butter and yet were strong enough to support the weight of the figures. It was like a tactile magic show. Ray even said publicaly that he was never able to match his father's skill after his father passed away. The saucers would have been nothing for his dad. But his dad did not have his sons absolute genius in cinematic artistry. I wrote in Films In Review that Ray was the 20th century Leonardo DaVinci. I dare anyone to claim with evidence that anyone else deserves that title more than Ray.
@@davidrosler5413 he was my idol as a child, also, but unfortunately, I never got to meet him. You must cherish every moment you spent with him.
@@usa3rdworldcountry i did but I don't think of it in those terms today. Frankly I just miss him. Terribly.
Lucky you!
I Love the 70's TV Movies you've been showing! There were so many great TV movies with great scripts made back then. Also love the 40s and 50s sci-fi movies! Your scripted set-up questions at the end of the show is fun 😉
OHHHH MAAANNNN!!!! This is one of my FAVORITES! Ray Harryhausen!
Thank you Creature Features for a fun and entertaining movie. I enjoyed it very much. Movies of today lack the entertainment quality and imagination found in movies like this one.
Can't wait! Just saw this at the drive in recently. I finally found the song creature features uses in the show, it's called The Happy Goblin by Louise Heaney.
Drive -In movie?
Where?😮
@@dahby2724 The Mahoning Drive in. It's in Lehighton Pennsylvania and it's amazing. They only play older movies on the original screen at the original drive in on the actual original 35mm film. It's the only one left in the world that does this. There is even a documentary about it. They have many actors from the films there to meet and get pics and autographs with and watch the movie along side them. They play movies from the 30s to the 80s mostly.
Wow, that drive in popped right up, it’s an hour and a half away, I may have to go there.
I thought perhaps you were time traveling when I first read your comment. Thanks
Loved this classic film!Thank you Vincent,Livingston and Tangella!!!!!
'Earth vs The Flying Saucers' is yet another movie I own on Blu-ray, but I have not opened it to give it a proper viewing, so this will be a treat tonight and in good company. :)
Another oldie! Outstanding.
But Goodie!🪩
I saw this film on TV when I was about 6, in the 1960s. It was so amazing to me - scary, military, alien's - I always remember it and periodically search it out. Thanks for the spotlight!
Thank you!!❤
Love Creature Features! Grew up with these movies. Your show takes back to the days of Chiller Theatre when I was a little d to when I moved to California in '73 when I was 20 and we had Seymour Presents and Elvira Mistress of the Dark every weekend. Love the bits with all the characters . Mr Livingston is a gem and I have a mad, mad crush on Tangella.
I have watched this movie from the sixties I will never got tired of this movie
1956 🎉🎉
Great channel! You guys are a pisser! When I was a kid these movies were actually scary. Your studio and costumed characters are well done. Thanx 👍👍👍
Awesome movie. Vincent, Tangella and Livingston all so totally rock and cool guest.
It don't get better than this!
Heh!!!
Great movie 🙂👍
Fantastic movie the Golden age of tv and movies I love the good and oldies a more simple time love creature features great cast

Fantastic guest, good flick and the best horror hosting team. Many thanks, Creature Features. 🧛🏻♀️🧟👻👽
🛸 🛸 🛸...And hits keep rolling...another good "Atomic Age " 1950s sci fi alien invasion horror cult classic. With one of American cinemas original "sci-fi/horror kings" of the era, Hugh Marlowe who made several genre films. This is in many fans top 10 of the 50s. See you Saturday night.
👾👾 👾.
You mean Hugh Marlowe. 😁
You right, lol. Good looking out. Thanks 😊
@@1kylecurry you're welcome!
"There's an echo in here..." 😅
Classic matchup from the golden age of sci-fi.
Fun guest and campy cool flick! Thx again CF!
This is one of the best 50's sci fi films. Great cast and cool special effects.
As a kid in the Fifties, and an 80-year-old today, I say this is the best, most entertaining, and most satisfyingly violent of any sci-fi movie before Alien.
One of my favorite actors voice is used for the alien voices!
“Paul Frees”! His voice has been used in Disneyland rides for narration! Also many more movies! War of the Worlds (1953), Manchurian Candidate (1962)(Narrator) and over 450 other movies and TV shows he voiced or acted in!
He was also the narrator for a radio show called, "Alien Worlds" in which you can find it here on RUclips :)
I want to mock you, but I don’t know how to make a warbling alien voice to say…whoOoOoOoO?😂
Thanks Ichiban, for that insight!
He also voiced a few TV cartoon characters...He is legend!
@@curbozerboomer1773 He certainly was :)
Gotta love Hugh Marlowe - when your movie's budget couldn't stretch to Richard Basehart you put the call out to good old Hugh! Solid actor!
I like movies from 50's and 60's! Pls continue showing these, thanks!

Now, I want a clean fight and no hitting below the belt. DING-DING-DING! :)
I put 50 down on the saucers!
@@bsharp3281, a wise choice. ;)
So many classics. Thank you for everything.
As a fire control radar technician for the navy, that weapon was exactly what firecontrol radars look like, Furthermore, it is a technically very real8stic type of weapon to use to disrupt the technology which would be used to displace the fabric of space to achieve antigravity effects for faster than light travel through space.

LET THE SHOW BEGIN!!! 👏👏👏
Thank you Vincent tangella & Sir Mr Livingston for the hard work that u guys do for US & the movies that are provided by the 3 of u! Much love and respect from Pasadena CA 👻🎃🎸🤘
The drive -In is on my Bucket list.
A family favorite outing...
Great memories!
Great classic Vincent
I have it on svd and i love it and also on you tube for free. Wonderful movie. Thanks for showing it
I have this movie. Tim Burton interviews Ray Harryhausen! It's in color or b&w. And there are more features to see.
Tangy is such a little minx!😊
I love her!!❤
Thanks!
Aliens can't drive worth a crap, they keep crashing here! LOL
@@strangebiped LOL
They pull the helmet off and it’s Elon Musk..never could master those self driving saucers…😂
Definitely one of the best of the many 1950's sci-fi films to be released during that era.
It was rubbish then and it is rubbish now !
Love you all. Love the movies and content❤❤❤❤
If Harryhausen in involved, count me in! I'm getting the popcorn now.
Oooo, popcorn! Thnx for the reminder.
He learned from the best!...the guy called "Opie" by his fellow effects dudes..he was responsible for the amazing effects in the 1933 KING KONG movie!
One of my favorites growing up but I mean in the 1970s late night tv lol
Maybe the Space Aliens can show the good doctor the proper way to tie his tie.
I saw Earth vs the Flying Saucers quite young, maybe age 10. Coincidentally, it was on Creature Features on KTVU, Channel 2, Saturday night. It was instantly one of my favorites as I discovered I was a lifelong Harryhausen fan. I recall laughing when I saw the saucer crash into the Capitol building.
37:15 DON'T LISTEN TO HIM!!!! TANGELLA DOES NOT NEED VACUUM PANTS. Hes just an air head. May be he needs a vacuum hat. Ladies, you all just fine the way you are!
One of your best episodes. Loved it m.
I watch this show for Tangella as much as anything else. What a cutie.
Come to think me too.
Wow! What a fantastic movie!! The special effects were really remarkable for their time. Cheers!
Somedays it just pays to stay indoors.
👽
This was my favorite movie, I had such a blast Live that night ty
I grew up with these movies in the fifties... loved 'em. We always wondered how they were gonna kill this Saturday's monster.
Sound got these guys, fire roasted 'Them', a de-oxygenator choked 'Godzilla', electricity zapped 'The Thing', they poisoned the 'Creature from the Black Lagoon', 'The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms' was dispatched with a radio-active round, and Martians caught a cold. Fantastic!
...by th' way, Harryhausen was a god.
Thank you guys, and thank you John Weiss......hope I spelled your name correctly
I used to watch Bob Wilkins (“Mr Excitement”) Creature Feature in the 1970’s Creature Feature on then an Independent station KTVU Channel out of Oakland, CA. I first saw the Dr Who vs Daleks movies with Peter Cushing, and the cartoon Bambi Meets Godzilla.
"Bambi Meets Godzilla" is EPIC. And it's on RUclips...
@@ZENmud Yes revisited it many times, the first time I saw it the anticipation was killing me, I hoped it would last, and then laughed so loud I almost woke up my parents. Too bad the rebooted Godzilla franchise hasn’t paid it homage…with a live action sequence recreation.
@@Renshen1957
I vacationed in Vail, Colorado, with Mom & brother, the summer of 1969 (me: 12yo)...
And a bar called "The Slope" showed ski movies & cartoons 😇 so we saw Bambi and Lenny Bruce's "Thank You Masked Man" cartoons at an early age (when they were new!)... and "decadence is MORE than a way of life"(!) 😇😅😇
The three hosts are very good comedic actors
No they are awful !
Seemed like the aliens wanted to talk and make a deal but there's that failure to communicate and misunderstandings factor played in. Sometimes big devastating conflicts in the real world starts off that way.
1.13 Tangella smashing the dude with the cooking pan is gold. 😂👍
Gary is derived from the Norman French name Geiree and passed into common English as Gary after the conquests. Its etymology is well known. Not short for anything, though sometimes Garret or Garett is shortened to Gary. I bet guys named Garamond prefer Gary.
One of my all-time favorite movies. Especially if talking fifties or classic sci-fi. A classic from a classic time. Thanks for showing it, and adding your special-ness to the experience.
Women of the 50s and 60s were so elegant
yes, until they get knocked up.
Agreed...they embraced their womanhood, in a very laid-back way...and were sexy because of it!
Ray did another great job with the flying saucers.
Love this channel ❤❤❤
Gary, which has Old English origins, means "spear," and can encourage to embrace his sharp wit. Gary can also be spelled Garry and is sometimes used as a nickname for Gareth, Garfield, and Gerald.
Great premiere tonight ❤
Can't wait !!
I have no idea where you guys came from or how long youve been on this platform but i love what youre doing. i love your formula, i love the extra content.

There's nothing like these old B&W Sci-fi movies!!- Michael McClary, Professor of Trumpet 🎺, Georgia Perimeter College and GSU ❤🎉😅
Very clever show!!!
I grew up with Bob Wilkins but I think I like you guys even more. Great job!
Those damn aliens, throwing people out of their ships 😂😂
Glad there is fast forward.
I like this one
The Las Vegas betting odds are in:
Earth: 1
Flying Saucers: 4
;)
Just love the sci-FY from the 50s
This was the best scifi for a decade.
...and it should have stayed , and forgotten, in the past !
Love these old sf movies, grew up with them and also read books about ufos by Major Keyhoe….owned quite a few then….🖖👍❤️🙏🏼🎵
Hey Teresa, there is a trick to watching movies without commericals. I forget exactly how but you do something like forward the movie to the end, then start it again.Maybe one of the viewers can explain it correctly. You can also hit the button on the right side of the screen to get past the commerical. I do it all the time as I have no patience for commericals.Btw, the people who have their commericals run are wasting their money! lol. I also skip past the yakky parts or intermissions.
The yacky parts are great though.
Great Ray harryhausen movie guys. Please keep up the good work. Try to get equinox 1970. 💀☠️💀
I so agree!...that little--known movie had some great stop-action scenes...it was made on the cheap, and most of the dialogue was dubbed post=production!...The young actors were actually recent grads from UCLA!...one of them went on to fame, playing Herb Tarlic, in that TV show, WKRP in Cincinnati!....His character was the stupid sales rep for the station. After that....who knows?
I've watched you two a few times and now I am hooked. Ya'll are so talented and funny I will have to subscribe
...and you need help , if you think they are funny !
Great beer night movie at college. Went to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), an engineering school, in Troy NY up the road from Schenectady NY referenced in movie.
Cheered on the engineers. Booed the crashing saucers. The models of Washington are great.
So campy, it was great.
In case no one has already mentioned it, let me just say, "Joan Taylor was an absolute doll face. Wow!"
Excellent movie. So interesting to look back at the arrogance of that time. Why in the world would we greet extraterrestrials with obviously superior technology by shooting at them?😱Really impressive movie with good special effects. And Doctor Dread!!!! How great is that! Thank you Vincent, Livingston and Tangella for another wonderful show.🫶
Gary is Originally a short form of Garrett or Gareth.

"We're jammin', we're jammin', hope you like jammin' too..."
P.S. Missed joining live chat from beginning, couldn't start watching film one hour in so didn't get to say this line.... 😞
Whole way through spent being way behind where everyone else was.
Thought that the line from some song was, "we be jammin', we be jammin' ".
I have yet to see this one.
Why do I have the strange feeling that, sight unseen, even in 1956, any sane human would be rooting for the flying saucers?
Thanks for sharing.
I'm still waiting for the sequel: "Uranus vs The Flying Scissors" starring your favorite moppet. lol
That saucer could fly right up Uranus, those space suits were built to explore Uranus..😂
In order to find out why aliens are magnetically attracted to her, she sends a probe to Uranus.@@devinangola3458
