  • Welcome to The Electrochemistry Podcast, where we discuss all things electrochemistry! This is a flagship podcast launched in 2023 by Pine Research USA to give a light-hearted look into the world of electrochemistry research. Listen along with Dr. Alex Peroff and Dr. Neil Spinner of Pine Research as they discuss stories about various researchers and the issues they encounter in the lab, try to help with electrochemistry troubleshooting tips, and interview people from around the electrochemistry world, all while making a lot of bad jokes and movie references. We hope you'll be as informed as you are entertained.
Episode 6: Jing's Glovebox Noise - In this episode of The Electrochemistry Podcast, Alex and Neil discuss grad student Jing who is a 2nd year graduate student preparing for her qualifying exam which is in 3 weeks. She is doing inorganic synthesis of a cobalt complex in a glovebox. Jing has some good results, but needs some cyclic voltammetry data. However, when she tried to perform CV experiments in the glovebox she was getting a lot of noisy data. Alex and Neil take a deep dive into what could be causing this noise. We'll finish up the podcast with a fun game of Password with special guests Tim and Courtney!

One of main part of my graduate project is integrateing a homebuilt electrochemical device in the glovebox, it took me nearly half a year to find out the source of the crazy noise. Now I have graduated, what if I find this vedio earlier?

Haha, I'm sorry to hear that! But I would guess you ended up learning very well the intricacies of working with a glove box as a result, so it wasn't all a waste of time! In any case, thanks for the comment and I hope you enjoyed our podcast!
