  • Welcome back to W140 Restorations as we replace the Passenger Seat Control Adjustment Switch to match the rest of the Burl Walnut Root trim on Project Iona. This video has some tricks and "behind the scenes" of what we all see when we open the door on these big body sedans. No plastic plugs or screws in plain sight, so knowing where to look and what do will save you from breaking the tabs off these important switches. Come along as we continue the interior work on this W140.

Love the vids, and have one suggestion: it would be great to see the whole car a bit more, in order to orientate the audience. You're zoomed in so often that one forgets what the mighty beast looks like! Cheers!

Thanks for loving the channel! Appreciate the suggestion for orienting the audience to the part location. Keep watching and more in the near future on Project Iona…and maybe a new project in the near future.

I used to have s320 when I install them, I extend the two and slid them in first then gently press the front one and it work good for me. Thank you

Great suggestion for the seat controls and yes I’ve done it this way before. You have to push hard, sometimes really hard, to get the front metal clips to seat behind the door cards. Thanks so much for watching the channel and thanks for the comment.

    Nice! Bulb part number?

Thanks for watching the channel. I think the part number is N000000003634. That’s the Mercedes-Benz 12 V .6 W dash bulb and that may work for the door as well If anybody else on here knows the part number please leave a comment.

Hello. I have an s280 1996 with manually adjusted seats. Do you know by any chance if i can convert it to electricaly adjusted seats, mainly to be able to tilt the seat? Thanks.

Thanks for watching and for posting this comment. Congrats on having a rare W140 if you’re sending this message from the states. I’m not 100% positive that you can, but there are definitely a few things you will need. Your manual cable seat and adjuster will have to go and you’ll need a seat with a power control module N32/1 for the driver and N32/2 for the Passenger for LHD cars. A seat switch adjuster for each door card is also required. I’ve never done the swap but hopefully someone reading the comments has some experience with this upgrade. Best of luck and thanks again for watching the channel. Please let me know if you ever make the swap.

Of course. Good luck. If you pull your door cards hopefully the wiring harnesses are same across the W140 chassis platform.
