Both Sunni and Shia Muslims share the most fundamental Islamic beliefs and articles of faith. The differences between these two main sub-groups within Islam initially stemmed not from spiritual differences, but political ones. But in this video we look at some of the key differences between the two.

I went to pray ASR at 5.15pm. I was new to that place and was searching for mosque and found one. The mosque was closed but as of my information masjid won't close and next to the building i see a building named "ya Ali mansion".
There was a young Muslim boy and I asked him I want to pray but mosque is closed so he replied this mosque is only for our caste not your caste.
I was shocked after hearing the statement, aren't we Muslims brother aren't we one?

Second his thought indicates what an upbringing is he getting from his parents. Rather they should teach to embrace everyone.

@sc gg I dont find that possible because we have such different beliefs im starting to think what they practice is shirk! When Salahuddin al Ayyubi came into power who was the first people he had to settle? The shia because he knew if he were to fight against the christians he couldnt have a weak spot when they were fighting somewhere. That advice wasnt followed by the Ottomans when the Safavids attacked too.

Quran says the ppl took rabbis and preists as lords in Quran 9,31 as they followed them when they opposed the religion and they kept making up stuff dividing the ppl. this is the role many sufis and shias follow, they act like rabbis and preists, especially that dajjal imran nazir hossain!
Allah is All Knowing there is no contradiction in Quran in context and the historical context is preserved - Quran 6,89!

How about this? Just Pray 5 times per day, Do Zakat, Do Fasting, Go Hajj and do shahada. Also read the Quran and haddith. Simple? Other than that we do not need to know who or which successor or whatever, that is irrelevant. Follow the 5 pillars of Islam and we are all good.

All you have to think is, there were no shias in the prophet (PBUH) time, so clearly its a sect that is made up. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) also described them in the following terms: “My ummah will split into seventy-three sects, all of whom will be in Hell except one group.” They said: Who are they, O Messenger of Allaah? He said: “(Those who follow) that which I and my companions follow.” This is mentioned in the hadeeth of ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Amr which was recorded and classed as hasan by al-Tirmidhi (2641). It was also classed as hasan by al-‘Iraaqi in Ahkaam al-Qur’aan (3/432), al-‘Iraaqi in Takhreej al-Ihya’ (3/284) and al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi.
There were shias but no sunnis
There were no shia or sunni in time of Muhammad. His followers were true muslims and did obey the Quran (The word of Allah). Now sunni sect want us to believe that if someone don't follow the hadiths will go to hell. They use fear as a tool of control. They are no better than vatican, or any organisation who use religion as power of control.

You are a fool I am sorry. If you do not believe in the sunnah u cannot believe in the Quran, very simple. The history of preserving the Quran is the same as that which the hadith have been preserved. To question the authenticity of one puts the authenticity of the other under jeopardy, the Quran says follow Allah and his messenger hundreds of times. Mentioning Allah is where we direct our worship when we mention the prophet we send salams to him to different things.

Just to be clear, there are different school of thaught in the shia sect that argues about these things. The most progressive of them actually love the sahabba, believe the qura'an is preserved and denies that imams and the prophet knows everything. The only thing that all shias believe in is the infallibility of the prophet and his ahl bayt. So yeah, don't group us all in the same boat.

We muslims are born to be muslims,we have our pillars of faiths. Prepare yourself with the knowledge of reciting quran,memorizing salah & follow sunnahs of our prophet(pbuh). & When the Hour comes. Only you can help yourself. Only Allah guides whom he wills. & If Allah had guide & made you a muslim in your heart & soul. Insya'Allah you will be guided. There are companions on the left & right. Wallah if they say the quran is not preserved, they can not be muslims because allah said in the quran that he sent the the quran (swt) and he will preserve it ,they might say even that can be added or something but by default, the last religion must be preserved by allah so that it can reach others and that they get the truth so ....
I'm Shia and I've never in my life heard that shias believe the quran has been changed and I agree that whoever believes that isn't muslim
In Quran Allah says " Undoubtedly we sent this (Quran) and we are the preservers of it". So any person who claims that Quran is not preserved denies this ayah which ultimately means he's not a Muslim.

The stone is made in Karbala with the dirt of karbala
So the stone us shia's prostrate on is called a Turbah. Its a collection of either dirt or dust formed into a tablet for more portable use. Many narrations and hadiths state that the prophet would gather some dust or dirt and prostrate on it since there is nothing more pure then the earth itself.

I want share the origin of Shia and Sunni, here is 2 min summary: Shia vs Sunni is not due to dispute between Ali and Abu-Bakr, its a dispute between Hussain and Yazid ( son of Muawiyah) . Actually Prophet Mohammad declared Ali as successor first, then he secretly gave promise to Abu-Bkar in exchange of Aisha ( daughter of Abu-Bakr ). After many generations when It was a turn of Hussain, by the treaty with Muawiyah, Muawiyah's son Yazid did not respected that, If that would have been respected, there would not be Sunni and Shia. so Shia follows the Prophet Mohammad's lineage of Hussain as promised and agreed by the community and honors the sacrifice he did, ( Sacrifice is, Hussain did not agree to break the treaty and consider Yazid as Caliphate, and he knowingly died fighting ) and Sunni continued the community that continued Yazid as caliphate.

The number of Surahs as generally accepted is one hundred and fourteen …whoever asserts that we claim that it is greater in length than that, is a liar.”*

*“There are no flaws of words,verses or Surahs in the present Quran.”*

Syed Murtadha Ilm-ul-Huda (rah) says:
*Our belief about the compilation being the exact copy (as the original) is as strong as our belief that the Qur’an is the Book of Allah (swt).* *The present Qur’an is exactly the same Qur’an that was compiled during the life of Prophet Muhammad (S).”*
Shiekh al Taifa (rhe) says :
*“Sheikh al Tusi (rah) in his book al-Tibyaan says that raising questions about the tahrif of the Quran is inappropriate, because as far as the question of anything being added to the Quran is concerned, there is a complete consensus that no such thing has happened, and about anything being subtracted from it, apparently the belief of all the Muslims is also that this hasn’t occurred. The same is the “Sahih” statement especially in our religion, and it has been backed by Allamah Syed Murtadha [rah] and the same is proven from the Ahadith. No doubt both Shias and Sunnis have some single chain narrations that appear which can neither suffice for knowledge, nor can they be acted upon, therefore it is better to discard those. *

It is a proven fact that SOME major Shia theologians believed in tahrif. However, this is not discussed in typical sermons.
Another example of a Shiite belief common among the masses is the notion that the Prophet (p) only sired one daughter when all Shia scholars disagree with this. Ayatullah Yusufi Gharawi touched this issue in Farsi.

As an ex Sunni who now follows the Shia Madhab … most of what this brother has said is incorrect.
First and foremost Usul Al-Kafi is in the same sense what Bukhari or Muslim is to a Sunni the major difference is we do not call it “Sahih” as it has a lot of Hadith which have been compiled but also not accepted by the Scholars of Shiism. Each Hadith is criticised and the chain of narration has to be verified and a lot are rejected. Shias say the only true book is the Quran
Also when mentioning the Imams the brother stopped at Imam Hassan Al Askari which is the 11th Imam. The last imam for the Shias is Imam Al-Mahdi(as). On the topic of imams. Yes we say they are infallible, free from sin and cannot make mistakes. This is confirmed in the verse of tathir 33:33 where Allah purifies Ahlul bayt. He did not mention also, the imams are all direct descendant of the prophet Muhammad, through fatima and Ali, through Hassan and Hussein and the descendants of Hussein. The knowledge of the imams is the knowledge that Allah gives them with his permission, they same permission he gives the prophet and nothing can be done without allahs permission.
Again, this lecture is very misleading and a lot of our Sunni brothers get their information about Shias from sunnis who do not like or agree with Shiism.
Remember all the Ahlul Sunnah was Jamaa Imams were student of Imam Jaafar Al Sadiq. A Shia Imam

I would say it's better not to call yourself a sunni because that way you are decreasing your whole identity as a muslim.
For example a muslim is someone who submits themselves to God, and if you accept that you are a muslim that includes following the Qur'an and if you do follow the Qur'an then necessarily have to follow Allah and his messenger (Qur'an 4: 69).
Following Allah would require you to follow the Qur'an and following his messenger would require you to follow the Sunnah (traditions, legal customs and practice of the community ).
However if you just call yourself a sunni, that would mean you are not following Allah and his messengers) because if you are to follow Allah and his messengers then necessarily you need to follow the Qur'an first before the Sunnah.
And if you are following the Qur'an you would know sects is not permissible.
Here is the information: [6:159] Those who divide themselves into sects do not belong with you. Their judgment rests with GOD, then He will inform them of everything they had done.
However, if you call yourself a Muslim that automatically means you believe in Allah and his messenger. Note that to testify as a muslim as well, you believe in Allah first, then the messenger because indeed how can you believe there is a messenger when you don't believe (there is a creator who is sending a message through a messenger).
But if you do call yourself a sunni, which could be interpreted as follower of the sunnah, then you excluded the first part of the shahada (to believe and follow God).
If you also call yourself, sunni muslim, then you are also putting the sunnah before God, which reverses the shahada.
Essentially what I'm trying to say is as muslims, following what the Qur'an comes first before the Sunnah.

What is the use of arguing about the successors of prophet Muhammad or what is use of debating about sahaba.
If u believe U are a muslim, then no need to debate on this things in present life. Past is past, let it go.
Now we should bring imaan , no matter if they brought or didn't.
Believe in allah, and is messenger
Offer prayers
Do zakat
Perform Hajj
And Keep fast in month of Ramadan

I have been seeing shias very closely as i have a fee neighbours and family members and wallahi sometimes im about to laugh on few things they say to much of fairytailes , fake stories about sahabas which contradict just go to a jafari shia ask about his belief one shias will not agree to what the other says one said me that imaam hussain recieved a revelation which talked about his death other denied it another shias was defending the topic of mutah went to another shias and asked him about mutah he was like this bullshit zina is not Islamic tell ur shias frnd to give his sister for mutah lets see what he does they themselves don't have ijmah in certain things there's a family which keeps food in a closed room and calls it nazar then when you open the room you have a palm symbol over the food which they say have been visited by ali ra

Narrated ‘Ayesha: (mother of the believers) After the death of Allah’s Apostle Fatima the daughter of Allah’s Apostle asked Abu Bakr As-Siddiq to give her, her share of inheritance from what Allah’s Apostle had left of the Fai (i.e. booty gained without fighting) which Allah had given him. Abu Bakr said to her, “Allah’s Apostle said, ‘Our property will not be inherited, whatever we (i.e. prophets) leave is Sadaqah (to be used for charity).” Fatima, the daughter of Allah’s Apostle got angry and stopped speaking to Abu Bakr, and continued assuming that attitude till she died. Fatima remained alive for six months after the death of Allah’s Apostle.

al-Bukhari under the Chapter of “The battle of Khaibar”, Arabic-English,v5, tradition #546, pp 381-383, narrates from Ayesha that:
“.. Fatimah became angry with Abu Bakr and kept away from him, and did not talk to him till she died. She remained alive for six months after the death of the Prophet. When she died, her husband ‘Ali, buried her at night without informing Abu Bakr and he said the funeral prayer by himself”.

Do you think all Sunni agree on 1 thing too?...ask your sheek if he was the prophet will you choose a successor or not? Only Sunnis says nooo and if they say yes they'll say Abubakar which contradicts sakifa and why did some sahaba chose and some was chosen what kinda sunna is that?

You people think with emotions, not with logic. The Shia school of thought is the most logical school of thought which attempts to stay authentic to the Islam of Muhammad himself.
When I read mainstream Sunni history, more than half of their religion seems to be transmitted and codexed by the Caliphates and their court scholars.
Shia history has for the most part come down through Muhammads direct descendants, and they can solidly reference more than 2/3 of their religion to Muhammad himself. I'm not talking about kids stories that you hear from people who aren't learned. I'm talking about the actual religion.
It's funny you think that by taking some average guys take on the Shia religion that you can get an accurate representation of what they theologically believe. And you think you're smart or clever?

difference between shia & sunni is like oil and water that don't mix so leave it alone
Basically Shia islam is nepotism sect and Sunni islam is equal sect.Sunni traditions respect all family member of Prophet and prophet campaignions equally but Shia people only preferred Hazrat Ali's bloodline peoples as Rightness leader whatever they are Right or Wrong.
Islam preferred equality and Sunni islam is Rightness Sect.
