Come back man! Caught my first yellowtail in LJ this summer, and a big part of why i went down there was your videos. Thanks for all the info and great content.
Dang! That's a great day. Thanks for the helpful tips! I never knew that squid prefer the low light. I've learned so much from your vids. Muchas gracias chris.
Awesome video... thank you! Keep it going! I started fishing La Jolla this year and have learned a lot from your videos. Good to see you're back on the water. Nice fish!
@@chrisblevinsfishingI'm pretty sure I've watched all your videos. I've learned so much from you, and I greatly appreciate you taking the time to make videos and share knowledge. Yesterday, I discovered your interview with Roman on Fishy Hour-- good stuff! I started kayak fishing in January with a Kraken. Then I found Roman Castro and hooked up with MMFC. After a few months on the Kraken, I upgraded to a new PA14 (Papaya). You and the MMFC guys influenced me. Fishing La Jolla has always been a bucket list item for me. During the summer, I fished La Jolla about 6-7 times, and recently I started launching from Dana Landing and fishing south, along Point Loma. Congrats with your new baby. I've been a dad for 13 years. Thanks again, and I hope to run into you on the water.
Was it partly the music? Or the editing? Or just the fish? I'm curious as to what part of it got you going, as thats response I want to get with my content. Would you mind sharing more thoughts so I can make the content better?

Bro the whole thing. Been out La Jolla a few times. Got one yellow in the times I’ve been out. It’s one of the best experience you can get kayak fishing. Haven’t been out in a few years. So for me all the prep time. Time on the water getting to that one moment when everything connects and your able harvest a great fish. Can’t wait to get out again. Brought me back to the past that I want to make the future again.
Way to get em man, hoping to see some more of that jigging action on the surface or bottom, one of the funnest way to get bit imo that reaction bite 🔥🤙🏼
Glad to see you posting again, man. As a noob still slowly gearing up to get into the hobby, I enjoy learning from you more than anybody else I've come across on RUclips. I recently managed to find a used Prowler '13 on Craigslist for a decent price and picked that up. Got an ugly stik GX2, a Daiwa SWBG5000 to go with it, some 40lb braid and 30lb fluoro leader. Now I just need to get a marine radio, some wheels for the kayak, and a cheap solution to car top it on my Prius. Any recommendations on the wheels and/or roof rack? Also, what are your thoughts on bleeding fish out on the water? I see a lot of RUclips kayak fishermen doing it and just wonder why they're not worried about sharks.
Hi max thanks for watching. I do bleed them out on the water… always do it and never had any issues. You only bleed them for a few min or so. As far as roof loading, it’s best to get hard racks especially if you go a long ways on the freeway. They have soft racks too, I think fastlane carries them. But honestly all you really need is a couple foam blocks and a couple cam buckle straps and you are good to go just run the straps through the door jam and through the cab.
Great video and glad to see you're back! Never knew you could catch squid out that way for bait. Are you willing to give tips on where to jig for them?
Ya its tough, especially certain times of year. I use windy.com, surfline, and national weather service together to do my forecasting. Mostly what it is.. i dont shoot much video on crappy days so you dont see those here haha
CHRIStmas came early this year. Chris is back to making videos! I bought a hobie outback this year and am getting the necessary things together to try la jolla next summer. If you let me know when you will be out there i can let you see me catch my first yellowtail. hahaha
Shout out krexx!!
Homeboy was hooting and hollering all day hahaha. Great to meet you out there Bro.
yeee. great seeing you that day! i took that photo for you and Krexii.
Oh rad Rafael! Thanks so much for the shot! That was a cool day on the water, did you ever get on on that bite?
@@chrisblevinsfishing still not on the board for YTs at LJ, but I did learn a lot from your tips that day! I'll have my day sooner or later!

Thanks cavedog, I try to provide at least a little bit of "value added" content in my videos... not just catching. Cheers!

Thanks Mike glad you liked it. They were strong squid-fed seriolas, one male and one female.
Very nice Chris! Haven’t seen a wide open LJYT bite in a long time. Keep up the good work.

I will try Ruben, I appreciate you supporting the channel!
Welcome back! Good day, was this October?
August actually...
@@chrisblevinsfishing I was wondering when you mentioned 72° water temp

Oh you aint kidding. Haven't gotten on a good iron bite lately, but spring is usually when I have the mist luck on yo-yo fish. Cheers!
Epic, sir! Really enjoy your vids! I’m yet to take the yak out to La Jolla as I’m a bay lurker but one of these days I’ll make the leap of faith!

Rad, gotta go out and use me some of tht squid
Easier said than done, often the squid is hard to catch than the yellowtail. Cheers Nicolas.
Love your channel…
I’m hoping to get out soon, do you have a go to spot for your squid if you don’t mind sharing?
Nice YT Belvins! Can you do a video on how to make squid bait?
Maybe one day, although my squid jigging techniques are among my more secretive skills.
One of these days I will get to LJ. Maybe I will get lucky and see you on the water to say hello
More great content Chris. What’s the trick with brine ice? I filleted mine same day and made kind tacos !
miss Chris Blevins i wish he could do an event
How do you find such calm days? Every time I go off La Jolla, I get bounced around!

Haha not yet, but he's a bruiser for sure he'll be tapping me out before long i'm sure haha
Where are they catching squid in lj? I saw a kayakers give you a few.
Hello I was just wondering if you had to go out that far in La Jolla to get on to some yellow tail?
I want ☝🏼 so bad!
Time on the water is all it is. Thanks for watching!
